Quote:If you want to compare shard acquisition rates, maybe you should do less (try zero) TFs and do more solo missions. Then, you might find that your shard drop rates aren't as great as you think they are.Bill, I mentioned in another thread I had my Dominator who has never touched a trial and yet I have my 4 slots unlocked and slotted with Incarnate Abilities in 3 of them. I've been building up salvage since the release of Issue 19 back in November last year, it's now been almost 7 months since you could earn shards. So I've been stock piling them since then even after I slotted my T4 Alpha. I've been stock piling Notice of the Wells. At the time I couldn't use them, but now I can. You can break them down into 40 threads each. I have 22 of them saved, do the math it adds up pretty fast
For the record, I do more Task Forces than I do Trials. But, I don't do Task Forces very often. -
I believe it was back in 2005 or so with the "Super Secret Out Of Combat Skill System". You know, that thing that took years to be turned into the Invention system?

Quote:Wow. I actually heard that in Tommy Lee Jones' voice.
There IS no strategy for 'Auto-hit giant pulses, insanely high accuracy mobs and a two-shot AV trolling your backside'
Nice try
Do that again, Techbot_Alpha!

Note: I do not always subscribe to the aforementioned strategy. Occasionally, though, it can be enjoyable to just unleash all sorts of overkill on the offending victim. In the immortal words of Col. John 'Hannibal' Smith: Overkill is underrated. -

I have always disliked the D&D alignment doohickey. My characters are much more complicated than that will allow. Or else, they're all chaotic neutral.

Quote:If I'm not mistaken, CoV became "free" when the CoH franchise went from Cryptic to Paragon Studios. With the change of management, it is understandable that they would combine the two halves into one whole. It is a different situation with Going Rogue (or Going Rouge for the dyslexically inclined.) But there are some similarities. Instead of the game changing management, the management is changing the game. With the change (there is the similarity) they are adding a new perk for us players. No one who can look back at the history of CoH/CoV should be surprised that Going Rogue would eventually drop in price and at some point become free. The same thing happened with City of Villains. I paid for it when it came out. Now red side and blue side are one entity, no extra purchase required. Was I ripped off? Or did I pay for the privilege to play villains for over a year before those who ignored CoV until it was rolled into a package with CoH?
So, I guess you could say that it's the same difference. Or maybe, the different same...
Anyway, I can see where Claws and Effect is coming from. -

Quote:The Praetorian WW isn't dead. Besides, how many times have Superheroes died (The Barry Allen Flash died so hard there was nothing left of him) yet, still return? How is it possible for her to get older? Isn't she dead??
Happy Birthing Day to the birthday girl. -
I wonder what would happen if Posi ever got a hold of Steelclaw's Translat-O-Tron 5000 and posted the translation instead of the original? Would the Translat-O-Tron translate the translated translation back into the original or a translated translation of the translation of the...um...what was I talking about?

Quote:You can turn that around though. The Djinn (I'd probably call him DjimmMaybe the idea of playing a djinn whose master ordered them out to fight crime is just laaaaame to people who came here to play a Super Hero ala Marvel and DC vein (as the game hyped itself up to be in the beginning).
) fights crime on his own time when he's not granting wishes to his master.
I'm with the superhero/villain crowd on this one though. Unless the character concept calls for it (like Olivia Onyx: Earth/Earth Dominator with crystal animations colored black) I tend to have Superhero names. -

Quote:So, what you're saying is that it's all an Azuria plot?Praetoria is a Nemesis Automaton?
EDIT: Scratch that. We have a time-traveling, dimension-hopping Lord Nemesis combined with a parallel world where Marcus Cole became emperor of the world and champion of the well of the furies. The connection is obvious! Emperor Cole was a Nemesis Automaton on Praetoria prior to drinking from the Well, whereupon he received enough power to collect the entire consciousness and mind of Praetoria's Lord Nemesis becoming a composite of both Marcus and Nemesis. He used these abilities to then build Praetoria as an ideal Nemesis empire with some minor facelifts resulting from Emperor Cole's mind being fused with that of Lord Nemesis. -

Quote:Unknown. Spider-Man and Spider-Woman use a hyphen. As do many others. What in the blazes are people thinking is wrong with using a hyphen in a super hero's name?

Quote:Using Mid's, I managed to get Adrenalin Boost's recharge down to just under 87 seconds. That was using Hasten, set bonuses, and a healing sets recharge reduction enhancements. That doesn't take into account the +100% recharge that AB would add to the mix. Nor did I use any purple sets. Granted, Hasten would have just over a 9 second down time (also without the +100% recharge from AB).first off....you dont play an empath much at all...how do i know you ask...well....your statements...little things...like not knowing maximum recharge for adrenalin boost was 150 seconds no matter what you do
So, with AB being perma on a quick Emp/Sonic Defender, I would have something along the lines of 1588% regeneration, 1156% recovery, just over 30% def (all positions(Hover, Maneuvers, Defender Fortitude), damage bonus of 134% (Assault, Set bonuses, Defender Fortitude, Amplify), a to-hit bonus of 88.6% ( Tactics, Defender Fortitude, Amplify), a +248.75% recharge boost, and +12 status protection (90 seconds duration).* All that with ranged attacks that have -Res.
You don't think that is over powered just a wee little bit?
* Using Mid's calculations and some in-game testing. -

Congratulations on the revolution.

Quote:We'd all agree that anyone playing pen-and-paper RPGs as a kid as already been making games, as far as an imaginative pastime. You've graduated to publishing them. Congrats!
Oh, and Hippy Bird Day, Posi.
I hope you have a tweet day. -
I have twin sisters who are "witches"
One is a Dark/Dark/(eventually will be Dark) scrapper
The other is a Demon/Dark/(haven't decided yet) Mastermind.
I think pretty much anything can work as witch-y, magic-y, powers. You just to convince yourself that it works for you. -
Quote:I won't argue that Inherent Fitness has made the game easier to play. Whether that is good or not is up for debate.See, I was like this, myself. I still firmly believe that the game is well playable without Fitness. However, the game is more fun with it, I discovered this VERY fast after it became inherent. Easier to build, easier to play, easier to kill stuff with.
This is also one reason I stopped playing Blasters. Before, my Scrappers and Brutes had to rest a lot because they ran out of endurance and I lost a whole lot of fights because I didn't have the energy to go on, while my Blasters rested a lot because they kept getting killed... Well, Stamina solved the Scrappers' and Brutes' problems but did jack squat for the Blaster, which just made them perform that much worse by comparison.
What inherent Fitness does is let us play more and work less when making a build.
I have played Blasters on teams of 8, where most of the team members used Stamina. My blaster didn't have Stamina, but still kept up with the rest of the team and still contributed to the steamrolling that the team did.
Stamina wasn't necessary for that.
Now, Stamina has made my Dark/Dark scrapper a lot easier to play.
but, I was managing quite well before too.
However, I usually solo'd with her and wasn't concerned with the time it took to complete a mission.
Which, seems to be the main complaint from most of those who clamored for Inherent Stamina. -

Quote:We must not be playing the same game.I think Inherent Health Pool opens up builds to more options. Remember when you pretty much had to take Swift or Hurdle at level 6 so you could take Health at 14 and Stamina at 20?
So much better now.
I never had to take Swift/Hurdle, Health OR Stamina in the game I'm playing. (until recently, that is)
In fact, I rarely took any of them. -
