The server order, however, is sorted by the number of players logged on.

    I could be mistaken though.

    It does seem odd though.

A friend of mine said that he wold boldly state that he was racist and the defendant should fry. Doesn't matter what color the defendant is either. I guess that would work.

The two times I was sent a Jury notice, it was 2 months before my summons date. I'd stick the notice in a location where it would remind me to actually contact them when the time came for jury duty. The next time I'd see the notice, I realized it was a month after the date.

What's really interesting though, is that I went 35 years without getting a jury duty notice, then I got 2 in 2 consecutive years.

I remember that. It made navigating Galaxy City and Atlas Park...interesting, back in the day.

Then there were the occasional lost ambushes of level 35+ Rikti in Kings Row, milling around behind a fence, just waiting for a lowbie to make that leap of fatality.

    "Uh, no."
(Well, not the people who hung out in the same bars back in 1997, but they accuse me of even less likely attributes.)
Funny thing, when I was 23 or 24, people thought I was 27 or 28.
    Now that I'm 40, people think I'm around 29 or 30.
Aging at that rate, I should be 40 in another century or so.

Or, they just wanted to add to his enjoyment of creating new rules for his tournament.

I'd say that Zwillinger had something to do with it in either case.

I'll have emptied all the storage on my character, do a few missions*, and the next thing I know, my recipes, enhancements, salvage, and inspirations are full and I'll have gained 5 shards. I'm just too busy doing other stuff to take notice of those messages.

    * By a few, I mean about a half a dozen missions with a team of 5. My regular group.
  8. Like some of the other VEAT players said, I use one build for a Night Widow build, the second build for a Fortunata build.
    My Peacebringer has 2 builds. A Human/Nova build, and a Human/Dwarf build.
Once I get to level 50 with her, and do the Alpha Incarnate arc, I might make a third tri-form build.

Would this be considered a Rick Roll?

I live in SoCal, I don't give people a hard time about earthquakes.
I do, however, give SoCal people a hard time about rain, snow, and temps below 75 degrees.
I moved to SoCal from Oklahoma, where they have Winter, Tornado, Summer and Lesser Tornado seasons.

You got that right. I remember playing Ogre in the late 80s/early 90s.
I love Steve Jackson's games. Started out with Car Wars. Most recently, been playing Munchkin.

(That lack of balance or fairness is inherent to the TF, so that no matter what you do you'll come across it.)
Actually, I think it would be something that would cause Steelclaw to delete himself, thereby causing the TF to auto-fail.

I believe I actually started PnP role playing games about the time I started playing video games. Never really had the money for the arcades, so had to make do with games for the Atari and the Texas Instruments computer we had at the time. Although, I do remember having Pong as well. Not that I played it much.

RPGs was where I had the most enjoyment. But, never really cared for D&D (advanced or not).

Oh, and I'm a child of the 70's.

I love it when people erroneously use the discrimination card.

We picture how we would react in such a situation and assume that's how your feeling.

If I had to actually delete all my characters?! Even the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. I have the same issue about level 50 as you though. Which is why I only have 3 and it took 6+ years to even get one.

That's game over, no growth left. I'm all about the journey too, so I make TONS of alts. But I can't delete something I've created and given life to. Eventually, I tell myself, eventually I'll get back to them...

So, when I hear about you forcing yourself to do another reboot. I imagine how I'd feel, then I urge you to reconsider because I don't want you to get so frustrated that you leave. Now that we know it only creates new adventures and you don't get that down over it. More power to you!
The thing is, he's not forced to delete and repeat. He does so, because he wants to. Which is why I, jokingly mind you, refer to that as masochistic behavior. It's what floats his boat, so to speak. I respect that.

I think Masochist is more accurate.

I still have the second character I created. He still hasn't made it to level 50 yet. But, I log onto him occasionally just to run a mission or two.

How is this right? If there was absolutely no way that NCSoft could do these shutdowns at a different time it would be a different story. However this isn't the case. NCSoft are taking money from money in a particular time zone with out using some of that extra money to look after that customer base. Even not spending that extra money there is nothing stopping them rolling the times through the normal eight hour business day as it is. Which spreads out the pain and makes it tolerable to all.

Now using the argument that it's a business and they should do the most economical / cheapest method is an invalid one. If you ignore the needs of even part of your customer base you risk either losing them and potentially damaging your reputation at the same time. When a customer of any business is paying for a service there is never any valid excuse for that customer to accept a lesser level of service than any other customer. They don't care that it's because they live in a certain spot. It boils down to they are paying for something they are not getting. If the company can't provide the exact same service in that location then they should adjust the price accordingly. Why is it because this is an MMO we are talking about that it is suddenly alright to charge a certain segment the same for less? I suspect it is because this issue actually doesnt affect you at all. And that a lot of you might not want to risk one of the shutdowns hitting you.

The Bottom Line: All we are asking for is some form of rolling schedule so we are not the only ones being constantly shut out of the game. Not a lot to ask for seeing as we too are full price paying customers too. You are getting extra profit for our corner of the globe how about spending some of it looking after us too.
I hate to sound cold hearted about this because I do feel for your situation. However...

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.

Any business that is looking to stay in business (unless funded by someone with unlimited funds and altruistic reasons) will tell you that. And businesses, in general, don't really care about the individual. Although, NCSoft does seem to care more for the individual than other games I've played. Still, they have to look at the broader view. Would inconveniencing a small group be better for the business than inconveniencing a large group?

From a practical stand point, which would you choose?
