Quote:If'n ya go ta tha suthern parts of these cheer Ewenited Staytes, ya jess maht git wutcher lookin fer. literly! There are three pronunciations listed, and I assume the rhyme was with ˈli-tər-lē\.
Of course, I want to go to wherever they speak that dialect and start punching people in the head, but for them, it does seem to rhyme. But, then, people who pronounce "pen" and "pin" the same piss me off, so you can understand how I feel about them leaving out a ******* vowel. -

Quote:You missed one vitally important contextual part of the OPs original post that makes the whole part you are arguing about a reference to the costume creator. Here are both the paragraph I am quoting, and the preceeding paragraph:
Please highlight the sections discussing the costume creator.
Unfortunately, I see references to a (presumably real) closet, a (presumably real) spouse, and (presumably real) clothing.
There are other paragraphs in which MOO is discussing the costume creator. You'll notice I'm neither quoting, nor objecting to, those paragraphs.
That right there preceded the "However" in the section that you found offense with.
Whenever there is a "However", that means that there was something that preceded it. Whatever comes after the "However" pertains to what came before the "However".
Its basic English. -
Quote:You also have the right to suffer the consequences of your actions. There was a time when I might have agreed with you, but that time has passed.
I think everyone has every right to be rude if they so choose.
I also think that anyone that does not like said behavior has every right to react as they see fit.
For instance, freedom of speech, if you have it, does not mean "Freedom from being offended" or "Freedom from hearing rude comments".
I disagree with the bold part though. There are some reactions that will land you on death row.
Quote:While I applaud your sticking to your morals, I must also stick to mine.
Sometimes rude must be fought with rude. Or Arthur. You can fight anything with Arthur.
When did "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" turn into "Do unto others the same crap they do to you"? -
Quote:Or, it takes a little longer than you think to actually track the cause of the bug down in the huge pile of code that has continuously grown over the last 7 years. When the bugs go live after being reported, it's obvious they did neither.
Finding one mistyped variable is not as easy as you'd think. -

Ok, since this post doesn't really have anything constructive to add to the issue, I will go away now. -

I apologize for not being able to actually contribute to the OP though. -
Quote:Unfortunately, those of us with a lick of sense have too high an expectation from those without a lick of sense. As a result, we are sorely disappointed and genuinely confused when they go into a nerd rage about obviously necessary things. If anyone has a lick of sense in their head then they will realize that with all the huge changes this game has undergone downtime is a neccesity to get everything right and implement said changes.
Personally, I blame today's "instant gratification" society.
Or, they could have just woken up and stubbed their toe while getting out of the shower after spilling hot coffee (even though they don't drink coffee) on their lap when they ate a breakfast of cold lumpy oatmeal and realized that they were out of any kind of sweetening agent.
What? It could happen. -
Quote:I went to school with a boy named Tracy. There are a number of traditionally male names that have become more popularly used for girls (some almost exclusively) in recent years: Addison, Ainsley, Ariel, Ashley, Blake, Courtney, Elliot, Kelly, Leighton, Leslie, Lindsay, Peyton, Rory, Ryan, Whitney.
had an apartment I shared with a girl named Bobby.
I have a step niece named Aaron.
None of them were cross dressers at the time. -
Quote:Um...wow. Feel entitled much?Since we have had so much downtime outside or normal acceptable mainenence, I expect some credit to the month I've paid. If my cable, telephone service or internet service was down for more than 48 hours in a month, you can bet they would be scrambling to compensate me.
I paid for 30 days service, not 28 days.
Do you throw as much of a fit when your burger has something on it you didn't order?
I would suggest that you compensate the company for all those extra days that you've played for free. You know, all those months that you paid for 30 days and got 31 instead? The company is entitled to that compensation you know. -
Quote:I don't have passport. I can't say "hello" to Avatea.* Avatea is a British woman of Asian heritage living in America who speaks other languages fluently... If I ever have the honor of meeting her I'm going to have to make sure my passport is up to date before I dare say "hello."
Maybe I could say Bonjour instead... -
Quote:You're not old until you're staying in an "old folks" home and/or using a walker, or possibly looking for the dentures you put in a glass over night. The saddest thing about this post is not just that you found it necessary to provide context for "party like it's 1999", but also the fact that you were right to do so.
I'm getting so old. -

Quote:A little less Emo from the customers and they'd be more willing to provide more information. So we're supposed to just sit down and shut up when they pull something like this? Be "good little consumers" and not point out the problem?
I think not.
A little honesty about where they were with the system would have saved a lot of trouble. >_<
I did not say sit down and shut up. But I do think that your response was more than a tad too over the top in angry rant. Less Rant and more Reasonable Review would make a much more Pleasurable Process for all.
I see that Techbot is frustrated and irritated that he wouldn't be able to get all of his tokens up front, but he's not mad as hell about it. At least, he's not coming across that way.
You might want to think about that. -
Quote:I feel that, with more responses like this, the Devs will start giving less information out about upcoming issues.Z... I'm going to just be blunt about this. I'm not "disappointed" by this last-minute change of plans. I damned near LIVID about it.
...
'Sorry to be so hostile about this... But it's the first thing you guys have done that's really made me angry. I feel like I've played for a sucker.
I see a day when what we are told would go something like...
Dev Announcement: In Some Future Issue Issue some stuff will be added that at least one person will like. Thank you for your time. -
Quote:Obviously, its because the guy is a Stalker.Yes - because it assumes you must have been told, it ought to make sure you have the badge for it! I can just picture Mender Silos going "Wait, what? How did we overlook giving this guy an actual portal? He obviously already knows..."
Or unremarkable.
maybe even an unremarkable Stalker.
Might even have to go so far as to call him a remarkably unremarkable stalker. -
Quote:Probably because it is a perk for VIPs and not any premium who has spent enough cash (or has enough Vet time) to acquire enough tokens to fill the tier 9 slots.Honestly why does it have to be VIP tier 9 why not just have a VIP tier that you can get the stuff since they are getting rotated you make a choice to go up the main tiers or get the limited time only items.
Just a possibility, mind you. -
Quote:That would depend on the McStandards you use to "live on".McJobs will not count as gainful employment until the average hours and minimum wage are high enough to live on. Currently they are not. I've done the math.
I had a McJob for 3 years, and didn't have a problem having enough to live on.
I got a raise to minimum wage 3 times to boot.
Now, if you're talking living on your own. No, you won't make enough with a McJob. Unless your McJob is as a McManager. Then, it is possible.
Same goes for many other "unskilled" jobs and even some "skilled" jobs. -

Quote:The Realm Online has been around for a while as well.Wow - 2004
Anarchy Online - 2001
FFXI - 2002
EQ2 - 2004
Star Wars Galaxies - 2000
City of Heroes - 2004
Eve Online - 2003
And those are just off of the top of my head. I've no doubt I could come up with more with some research. This idea that the short lifespan of a few poorly funded and/or poorly designed games is somehow proof that all games have a short lifespan is a load of peanut butter.
Launched in 1996 and still going. 15 years and counting. -
I had a dog once, many years ago.
I seemed to be the only one in the house he was afraid of, and I was only 3 years old.
His name? Muttly. I don't know what his breeding was. He was a mutt.
Powers: Super Strength/Willpower Brute.
This is one of the few dogs I know of that could eat anything. Except for my dads cooking. I'll never figure that one out. He even tried to eat my new shoes. While I was wearing them. We quickly learned that anything left int he backyard was probably going to be destroyed by the end of the day. Things like bicycle seats, frisbees, plastic food dishes, rawhide bones, pool covers, plugged in electric cords, and tin buildings would not stand a chance. Well, the tin building did withstand the repeated attacks, but I think that's because it was a WP/ Invul Giant Monster.
As much as that dog liked to chew things up, he was still a great friend to a 3 year old. After he learned not to eat my new shoes. -

I work as a Security guard myself.
It affords me plenty of time to do things that I can't get done at home for various reasons.
The hours I work are great for college students...if they don't have problems sleeping during daylight hours. -
I have found that I don't get logged out as much as you guys (and girls, and men, and women, and robots, and rabbits and aliens, and...).
However, I did feel this urge to copy/paste a reply just before hitting send.
Good thing I did too.
This is the first time I've been logged out in about 2 or 3 weeks.
I think. -

Some inner voice told me to copy/paste that reply before hitting send. Good thing I did.
Stupid forum auto-log-out. -
