[quote=Forbin_Project;2286231]Quote:It was positive. I was just tossing out some odd comments that really didn't make much sense...unless the person who wrote it was taken into account. And in some cases, even then it didn't make much sense.sorta like this one?
That was positive rep! At least it was supposed to be positive. It was positive wasn't it? Let me know if I screwed up and sent neg by mistake. I'll fix it if I made a stupid mistake. -
Quote:Not that hard to find at all, really. Just look at the patch notes on Paragon Wiki.Yah, that was the official line, but there were a lot more powers that received the nerf bat along with the Holds, Disorients and sleeps.
Ice storm from controller epics is none of those, yet it received the same nerfing. Frostbite as well.
Kind of hard to prove either way since the old forums are ded, and most of those posts were zapped in the various house cleanings in that time anyhow.
here's a list of them.

Quote:sorta like this one?You can minimize it (advice to those who may want to).
Mostly the neg reppers hurt my brain since all too often I have no idea what they are talking about.
[quote] Great big dogs landing on my face! - (name removed to protect the guilty) [\quote]
or this one?
[quote] My beard is ROCKIN [\quote]
Of course, taken in context with the thread that is was refering to, I have a pretty good idea what they're about. And I even have a good idea who the unsigned one was from.
Quote:I once got +rep rep with the comment: "You are consistently helpful, and polite." ... I think they were being serious! -
Quote:Not all AoE, just three; Holds, Disorient, and Sleep. You know, the ones that would make this City of Statues. And Sleeps still last a long time. Relatively speaking. It was back in the day when trollers ruled the land in i4. Then the great troller nerf hit in i5, and every single AoE pretty much got reduced to 1/4 in effectiveness. New AV resistances to debuffs also gutted many trollers.
Having a fully Hami'd out Ice/Storm with nearly 100% AoEs meant that it was either dumping fifty 50++ - 52+ Hamis in the trash bin or extracting them out 10 at a time during each respec, hence 5 respecs. -
I only have one thing to say about...
Quote:Those people that are judges, police-persons, court officials and every other law enforcement type, are ordinary people. They have their own ideas of what justice is. Granted, some of them attempt to abide by a standard of ethics when it comes to applying justice, but I've seen others too fearful of criticism (not reprisals, but criticism) to actually deal out justice where it should be placed.I don't agree with letting people be judge, jury and executioner, because I don't trust people in general to make the right call. In fact, I agree with having law enforcement taken OUT of the hands of ordinary people.
So, in the cyclist incident, my action would have been to not move at all, except to brace myself for a collision. If I get hurt in the process, so be it. -

Quote:Really? because I get things like...I wish people acualy gave me red for a good reason or really say somthing new all i get it "rep farmer" "Downrated for participation in rep-raising thread."
-rep : My beard is ROCKIN (I'm sure it is, but I like mine better.)
-rep : short bus <rolls eyes> ( It was a legitimate comment on my part.)
-rep : .. (Umm...ok?)
-rep : . (again?)
+rep : Alladin reference ftw! ( I thought it good myself.)
+rep : there no extened maintenance there trying to catch the hacker and we pay for it so unless people don't let GM'S know of wrong doing's in the game it we ruin it and there we not be a COH IT WELL BE GONE TO THE AMERICANS!!!!!!!
Oh, and +/- rep : (darned blank comments)
just a few of the comments, or lack there of, that I have received.
Quote:As for me stepping out of the way being the better way? I don't know. Morally, maybe.
Go -rep! -
Quote:That about sums it up.I've seen this mentioned before, I actually had to look it up to find out why this was such a "d'ur" move. Apparently the old Moment of Glory dropped your health by a huge amount, and made you immune to any sort of heal or hitpoint buff. It also pushed damage resistances for almost everything to insane levels. So you would now have 100 hitpoints, but anything that attacked you would be doing just fractions of a point of damage. *Unless* it was Psi, the only thing Moment of Glory didn't boost resistance for.
So against psychic critters, the battle apparently went something like this:
*You have activated Moment of Glory!*
"I am INVINCIBLE!"
*Psychic Clown uses Ice Cream Headache!*
"Ow."
*You have died!*
My Warshade did a similar thing.
Went Dwarf and jumped in with Mire and immediately faceplanted.
Looked at the Dwarf form resists and noticed the lack of Psi resist. -
I have a character that has "If you invite me, I will get you debt" as his search comment. I was sent a tell once "That sounds like a challenge". He was polite enough to not send an invite.
As you can tell from that search comment, I don't really like to team up all that much with people that I don't know. Yes, I know. My loss. -

Quote:Odd, on one screen (that's using the CoV skin) I have "Welcome, Twisted Toon." On another (using the CoH skin) I get, "Welcome, Paladin."Just go to http://boards.cityofheroes.com and look at the top right... it'll probably say one of the two (it does for me).
I never knew Twisted Toon was a Paladin.
I wonder if it has something to do with the skin...
Most like its just a Nemesis plot. -
Did we ever decide if PK was going to turn his Rep on or off?

Quote:Lovely Douglas Adams reference. You ever notice, though, that he only sings part of it? He was a beta tester in 1892. Beta took longer back then.
Is the time capsule the only definitive future date we have in the lore? Yes, yes, I know we have the Coming of the Great White Hankerchief...uh..hmm...*checks notes*...um, the Coming Storm, but its got no specific date.+rep for you.

Quote:YAY! I'm as old as Bill!!... which you switched by *getting up and using the blasted dial.* (And potentially tweaking to fine-tune.) "Remote control?" That was you, when your dad/brother/etc told you to get up and change the channel for them.
<-- remembers cable TV being new. ("More than six channels including PBS? Who woud've thought?")
<-- Remembers MTV actually playing music.
<-- remembers getting the Atari 2600 when it was new. (TWO joysticks, paddles and Combat, plus that fake woodgrain. yeah!)
<-- PONG console.
...
Wait!
Quote:... I also remember when every episode of M*A*S*H was new. >.<
I lived through 83% of the 70s. But, my dad liked to watch a lot of the older stuff, and I liked to watch stuff with my dad. So, I watched alot of the older stuff.
And, my first computer was a TI99 4a. Also saved to a cassette. -
Quote:Immob is a hard control. and, with proper tactical planning, you can remove an opponent from the battle for as long at the Immob lasts. Much like a hold, stun or sleep.what hard control does my fir/fire blaster have. I missed that on the power selection page. Ring of fire is a immob, not a hold.
My Fire/Energy Blaster takes on +1 and +2 bosses easily without the need of Breakfrees. She also melts large groups of +1 minions before they can get off more than one shot. -
How about this one?
The mission? Defeat Officer Nader and Guards in IP.
Is Officer Nader's secret hide-out in the plant?
-
That's not what was said.
What was said was that all ATs solo fine. Different players add or subtract from the solo-ability of any AT.
Reading comprehension please.
Quote:They'd probably say that 'everything was fine' before the cost reduction went into place for powers.
Dang people for wanting to improve this game!
Oh, and I ran a 0/x8 mission on my Human form Peacebringer this morning. Didn't use a single Breakfree. Granted, it was a level 7 mission against Skulls, but still. I only needed to rez maybe 3 times in the entire kill all mission. managed to get about half the Skull boss badge and a quarter of the Kill Skulz badge from that single mission. -
Quote:You are correct, not all of them do. Half of them do, however. Not all defenders have that sort of tool. And quite a few melee sets do have some sort of mezz.
Quote:Mezzes are pretty cheap when you get down to it. The developers already balanced around the fact that players can't lock down whole swaths of NPCs by reducing the duration so that they can't self-stack AOE mezzes.
nice attitude, no wonder I won't team with you. If my Emp/Electric Defender can stand toe-to-toe with a couple of LTs, then you can too. -
Quote:Its called multi-tasking. I learnt to do dat when I werked at McDonalds.I'm here only in bursts - and I can also post and play at the same time
