Geko, I'm with you all the way. I hate knockback with a passion and I also think it should be changed to knockdown. Knockback does more harm than good.
By the way, the only time any team I have been on has said anything about knockback was a comment by the Ice/Axe tank stating that he didn't like knockback. Which happened mere seconds before he scattered the mobs that were surrounding him. Of course, nearly everyone on the team had at least one power in their Primary/Secondary that did knockback (not just knockdown or Knockup). I didn't feel the slightest twinge of guilt as I tossed around my Knockback attacks. Putting the foes into walls and other such objects.
The only person that felt the "detrimental" blow of massive amount of knockback was the DB/WP scrapper. But, then we had a very good Empathy/ Defender on the team.
I think the only times we ever had team wipes was becasue we had aggroed multiple groups accidently, or were fighting AVs. -

I see this quite a lot in comics. Much more so than Knockback. If this is what Arcana is calling KB, then I guess so. But effects (punches, beams, etc.) doing KB is really as common as people make it out to be in my experience.

For the discussion of who is responsible in the "KB issue", I would say that both parties are equally responsible. the KBer for attempting to lessen the aggravation of careless KBs. The Meleer for restraining the urge to get offended by the KBer. Remember, only you can control whether you get offened or not.
As for what I do when I join a team while playing an Energy character? I appologise for all the KB I am about to do, then proceed to use my Energy powerset to defeat the foes. Fortunately, I know the people that I team with 95% of the time, so they don't have a problem with me using KB characters. Despite the fact that some of them have been quoted as saying theat they don't like KB. I contribute more to the team than my KB takes away. -

From what I'm understanding from the "complain", you've been playing the same character the entire time. You might try a few alts. Completely different ATs. Switch sides. That will make for a completely different play experience. Yes, you'll be doing the same missions. However, you'll have to use a different strategy. especially if you're soloing.

Most people try and get a short and sweet name usually two words and for the less creative those two words pretain to their primary and secondary. Awhile back I wanted to make a DM/Nin stalker and when it got time for the name I threw out the first thing that came to mind and got Hour of Darkness. I was suprised that wasn't taken and now I always try for three word names.
Crystal Sweet : Stone/Ice Dominator
Cog Caster : Robot/Traps Mastermind
Emerald Radiant : Rad/Energy Defender
Serenity Dark : Dark/Dark Scrapper
Just to name a few. -

This week's Stupid Question:
If the developers offered a closed Task Force that would not only influence the direction of the game universe's future but would also result in all characters on the Task Force becoming part of Canon... would you offer up one of your characters for the job?
Now, before you answer... consider a few restrictions/guidelines:
1) ALL your character's actions on the TF will become Canon... so if they are the true hero of the day and lead their team to ultimate victory they will be remembered as such. If, on the other hand, they die in the first mission... that will also be well-documented.
2) This is, as in Omega Team, a suicide mission. Once you finish the Task Force you will lose access to that character. You have the honor of having them part of CoH lore, but you won't be able to play them anymore.
3) In order to qualify for the honor, the Devs want a hero (or villain, this is a co-op mission) who has a developed past. In other words, only those who have long proven themselves as worthy will be allowed to participate. The character must be a long-standing one (say it's been in existence for at least a year) and meet a minimum level of 35. So no rolling up a character and power-leveling them just for this purpose.
So... if this were offered... would you jump at the chance or avoid it like the plague?As a matter of fact, I do have a character or two that I would do such a feat with. Seriously though, that was tongue in cheek. It hurts my back just *watching* it.. But, not the stance. However uncomfortable it looks.
On the whole, I agree. Standing around like that all day would certainly lead to some back problems of one sort or another.
