Yes, you too can miss The Broad Side of a Barn. (on Guardian)

Of course, I did design him to be hard to hit.

Unfortunately, he's not all that high a level at the moment. Been distracted by my multitude of other alts.

A forum mod got hit with a Confuse power and GG was the closest "Enemy" when they cued up the Ban Stick attack.

But--and I say this yet again--I'd rather have a defender that did both (but please, feel free to continue ignoring this part and believing about me what you wish to believe).
Obviously, you don't really understand the concept of an Offender. Offenders use all of their abilities to aid their team, not just their primaries. My Emp/Elec Defender does just that. You know why? Because every little bit of Endurance and health that I can drain off of the bad guy helps the team. Not just my 2 heals, Fort, CM, RecA, RegA, and AB. Or the occasional Rez when RegA wears off at an inconvenient time.

If you were to tell me to stop blasting away, just so I could heal you more. I'd do one of two things. Quit the team (which would be the polite thing to do) or I would just not buff you.

    Quote:
Um...yes? You rolled a DEFENDER. Not a blaster. If at any point, at any time, a player puts his/her secondary over his/her primary, that person is playing wrong. If a tankers build takes every single attack, and doesn't work on defenses at all, guess what? He's not a tank, he's a weak wannabe scrapper. If blaster puts his/her secondary over his/her primary, he's a glass scrapper. (You can see where I'm going with this, yes?) I'm guessing, by the lengths you go to defend this playstyle, you are part of the problem.
That makes me very happy that I won't be teaming with you. Because I'd be bruising your delicate ego with my Controller that can tank better than many Tanks that he's teamed with.

    Quote:
Yes, and everybody just LOVES KB, don't they? The end result is pissing off the tank and any melee characters, who then have to run to catch the enemy you just sent flying. (Weren't you the one complaining about defenders having to chase players all over the map? Hold on one sec...)
I love KB. Even on my Melee characters. However, I know how to use KB. I have found that those who whine and complain the most about KB never learned to use it properly.

    In other words, Lrn2Play!

    Quote:
You're welcome. Also, I fixed that for you.
No, he had it right. You want Defenders to have you on Follow with their buffs on auto because you haven't actually learned to play with others yet.

Seriously though people, we've diverged from the main point of this thread. What would you kick a person for--if you kick people (and some people talked about personal experiences)?. I've already said what I had to contribute, and I have no wish to continue back and forth in this endless cycle.

Please collect your things before disembarking from the train. Have a good day.
About the only thing I would kick someone for is them being a jerkwad who thinks they know the "only" way to play the game. And yes, I have kicked people from my team before.

  5. Steelclaw,

If I weren't a guy, I'd ask you to marry me.

    But, I am a guy...

So, I'll just say, "I love your style, man."

In a manly way, of course.

Sorry. I'm no fun am I?
According to the CoH comic, Ressurection can, indeed, raise someone from being not just mostly dead, but go-through-his-pockets-and-look-for-change-dead. Statesman is (ahem) living (yes, that was bad ) proof of that.

Of course, I like her more than The Ocho. I'm her Number 1.5 fan.
I think I'm The Ocho's second or fifth fan.
No offense The Ocho. She IS cuter than you are.

I think I'm going to hide over there under that table.

As an aside, seeing your name below the thread title made me read "Ninja Milk Run" on the first pass. Just thought I'd let you know.
My Warshade uses Ninja Run when entering a battle. It allows him to drop (quite literally) in on a group that he's just hit with a Knockback power (now turned knockdown thanks to being above them). However, I usually turn it off right after that. But, there are times when I like the flippy jump animation during a fight...or the fight is over about the time he lands.

    (B) This TF will be led by a lvl 50 so if you're level 36 you'll be raised up and if you're lvl 50, you don't have to worry about being de-leveled to 40 or something.

I asked this on my server's TF channel a while back and got mixed responses so I thought I'd ask the community at large.
    Yes!

    or

Where ARE they going to find rubber pants their size?

    Those are my first thoughts.
  11. Mr. Whisper,

It seems there was a slight problem in the emailing system and you received an email that was meant for me (and half a dozen other people too).

If you would be so kind, please do not steal the mail out of my mailbox anymore.
  12. I have a quote from a male NPC in Atlas Park...
Darrell: Well, this obviously must stop! I've had my purse stolen many times!

Longbow Sergeant: I see. Well, that must have been very frightening for you. The purse was black, you say?

I actually had to stop and take a second look at the NPC. Darrell was, in fact, a male NPC complaining about his purse being stolen many times.

My favorite quote was from a CoT Soul Mage just after I Force Bolted him off a very high roof.
    Soul Mage: Not again!

How many times has he been tossed off the roof?
  13. My answer for the Thread's title question is...

Just like they handle any celebrity; Poorly.

My second thought was Jumper. It was a good movie. Although, I didn't agree with the theft part.

The problems arise, many times, around the definition of "pulling ones own weight".

I have an Illusion/Force Field Controller whom I usually solo with. So, the only powers from the secondary that I use on a regular basis are Dispersion Bubble and Force Bolt. He solo's 3 +3 bosses just fine. And he's not even optimally built.

When I team using him, I tend to forget about the personal bubbles most of the time. Yet, the team hardly notices. Probably because Chaos, Mayhem, and Pandemonium are running around taking a lot of the aggro from the other squishies. Yes, I named the Phantom Army.

Would I be kicked from some of the previous posters' teams because I wasn't using my bubbles on them? Most likely, I would. Their loss, I say.

  16. Hero Paradigm wears Red, White and Blue.
He fights injustice on Liberty server.

A Patriotically colored hero doesn't have to have a name even remotely similar to those mentioned above.

I wouldn't recommend using Auntie Jane though.

PUGs are funny things. Sometimes you'll find that min maxer who can't stand the idea of an inefficient build, and some who probably wouldn't even know how to check a build.
Thank you for that 5 minute giggle session. Literally brought tears to my eyes. I"ll probably be cracking up for no apparent reason for the rest of the day and getting a lot of funny looks, but I think its worth it.

Of course, the 6 weeks of 60 hours weeks at work might have something to do with the low laughter threshold I have.

Ecsuse me, but doesn't Defense subtract from Accuracy and not To hit? (and your base chance of hitting is To Hit not Accuracy, if I'm not mistaken) So, 25% defense would yield a 95% chance of hitting ( (180%-25%)*(75) ).

Now, if you ran up against something that debuffed your To-Hit smething fierce and dropped your To-Hit (base chance of hitting) to 5%, then that 180% wouldn't do much. You'd have a measly 9% of hitting.

Of course, I'm not the math wizardess that Arcanaville is, nor have I spent all that much time investigating the whole Chance of hitting formula. But, I do believe that I recalled Defense subtracting from Accuracy and not the base to-hit.

    I could be wrong however.

    In any case, carry on.

I Beta tested a game called Cosmic Rift several years ago. I actually did better with a ship I called P-shooter Power than I did with the "Heavy" hitters. That game is all about PvP. There are instances were faster light attacks will beat out a Heavy Hitter more often.

Also, you might not be taking into account that Claws is also relatively light on Endurance usage. Of course, if you feel that you must have Stamina as soon as possible, you might have missed the lower Endurance usage. It happens.
  23. The only character I can think of would be Serenity Dark. Of course, her twin sister Dark Anarchy would have to be in it as well. Since they're each others Arch-Nemeses.

Kaylee Dark (Serenity Dark) and Kaylin Dark (Dark Anarchy) both came from a notorious family of dark magic users. Kaylee had a difference of opinion with the rest of her family about morals, ethics and the use to which their powers should be put. Kaylin wants to "redeem" the family name.

I would say that the movie would be about Kaylee's origin story.

I don't really have a preference for any particular actress or director.
