Sometimes people have to leave. Don't take it personal, just find new teammates.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think they are more mad at the fact that people leave without saying anything, not that they are just leaving. -
I agree... I get around faster than they do 90% of the time using the geysers anyway. The only time it sucks is when you forget to turn off SJ or something and you don't quite make it, but thats what the GvE jump pack and/or raptor pack is for.

[ QUOTE ]
Super Jump goes everywhere but the Shadow Shard, and you can always buy the temp jet pack.
[/ QUOTE ]
All my toons Ive ever taken to the Shadow Shard just have SJ or SS and they do fine... just get the VidiotMaps map overlay and buy a jetpack in case you miss a jump. Not that it will really matter because hardly anybody goes in there any more... -

Mace is energy (sort off, its the only weapon based epic around.)

What about Scrapper's Weapon Mastery? -

Tbh, I really don't think it will affect much. If I want a Kin for a STF, I will pick whatever one I can find, whether its a Corruptor, Controller, or Defender. If I want some melee dps I will pick up a Brute or Scrapper. If I want something to hold aggro I will either pick up a Tank or a sturdy Brute, etc.
I just don't see myself or most of the people I play with excluding certain ATs from teams (unless it has to do with the team level). -
We don't really know. However, I am thinking that this will be just the beginning of the power customization and we will get even more in future issues. I doubt all of it will be in one issue.

At first I was thinking "What the..." but now (partially thanks to the people who pointed out Knives of Artemis) it seems pretty cool. A guy appearing out of nowhere with a huge freakin' broadsword would be pretty scary -
Damage-wise, Scrappers will do more constant damage and Brutes will do less damage to start out, but more once Fury gets up there.
For survival, a WP Brute will be more survivable because it has more HP to pair with the +Regen from RttC. -

*About 20 people /b something like that and no one could or would explain it, and even a few replied "it's a bubble farm."

Whats sad is this doesn't suprise me -

With all that Ranged/AoE defense, you might want to consider taking Hover/Fly. It could help easily keep AVs out of melee range. (Side note) Hover and webnades also worked suprisingly well for me in the old PvP system... I could pretty easily beat 3 or 4 heroes at once by keeping the melees away from me (and holding them with Noxious Gas) and taking out the ranged ATs first (while only switching out of BG mode very quickly to keep the damage down). But I'm not sure how it would work now, or if you are even into PvP. Alternatively, you could always grab jetpacks from Grandville.
Also, I wouldn't count on Bruiser being able to tank with Alkaloid slotted like that. +HP is also good for a MM, but I don't know if you can get much of that without sacrificing defense. The accolades will provide a decent amount of it though if you don't already have them.
Edit: Oh, and if you can find an extra slot for more recharge in Noxious Gas that would help a lot too. When it is up you have time to take a breather and heal all your pets up, so it would be nice to have up as much as possible. -
(Only read the first 2 paragraphs and skimmed the rest)
Theres more to do at 50 than just farm. You could get badges, do TFs, do trials, run some missions with other 50s, PvP, IO yourself out, etc. Or you could always make a new toon.
Personally, once I get a toon to 50, the only time I really ever play them much is for TFs and stuff with friends that need high level toons. My Ill/Rad and Thugs/Poison (my first two 50s) have not been played much in over 100 days. I play my others more (expecially my Brute and Scrapper), but I still prefer lower levels when I have a choice.
And fyi the reason people farm at 50 is usually so they can IO out a build. -

I like my SD/SS tank so far. I did see a SD tank repeatdly get dropped by LR in STF even with its def stacked with ice armor. Made taking the towers a pain. They may have to *cough* take tough and weave to survive such a task. Then again, I don't how the tank or the ice defender were slotted. I did see a soft cap SD/SS tank take on mobs in the supa dupa troll AE arc and pretty much did not get touched. That's not a farm. Just a real hard arc. Seeing that gave me something to look forward to on my tank.

Its probably just slotting. last time I did an stf, our stone tanker got floored many many times. We ended up using a buffed sr scrap for our alpha soaker.

Hmm... is it a bad that I do that all the time? -

Also, very few things are more fun than flipping out and killing things. -
My experience with the mace beams is that they are pretty bad. I tried them when SoA's first came out and quickly respec'd out of them. Unless they got buffed between then and now they are still probably that way.
The good news is that they look pretty cool and your teammates will notice you a lot more. It could be pretty fun, but you won't be doing a ton of damage. -

I've seen people claim SR is weak, and I've looked at their builds, and I see things like Dodge being taken at level 41 and many other horrendous mistakes. SR is not underperforming nor is it weak nor does it "need" IOs to be good nor does it need the Medicine Pool.
Brute SR is not worse than Scrapper SR. Brute SR is even better than Scrapper SR.
SR is simply misunderstood by many people, maybe even most. With basic, SOed SR you can and will survive teamwipes on a regular basis. You can take down Archvillains if you choose. The set is just that good. But you have to not skip its powers and you do have to be patient with it in the sub-20 game (you'll be paid dividends for this later by having one of the strongest late-games you can get on a melee, if not the strongest. Carnies, Malta, the groups that make others cry? SR eats 'em up. Mask of Vitiation and Sappers? They don't hurt what they don't hit. Fun fact: Mask of Vitiation has a Ranged component.)
I really need to finish my SR guide.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whoever says SR is weak has never played the set... -
Council Vampyri are Dark/Regen, so something along those lines. My Vampire-type toon is a Dark/WP Brute.

Dude, if you wanted to make a post about scaling resists, then make a post about scaling resists, not about bane/widow comparisons.
[/ QUOTE ]
He did make it about scaling resists...
[ QUOTE ]
Edit: I've noticed a few other bane vs widow posts but the main question I have is about the widow's scaling resists, I'll base my decision probably on that information. Trying not to beat a dead horse here with the constant comparisons. Thanks!
[/ QUOTE ]
Edit: So basically his question is: Do scaling resists make a Widow more survivable than a Bane? -

[ QUOTE ]
I'd add that there are some mobs out there that can still hit you hard and often even if you have soft-capped defenses, due to high +To Hit and/or +Accuracy (Malta Gunslingers and Rularuu Watchers come to mind) and some non-positional attacks (usually found in psi attacks).
[/ QUOTE ]
I find Malta Gunslingers to be rather easy to be honest. I haven't faced any Rularuu on my Night Widow so I can't speak on them.
[/ QUOTE ]
And perma-ML Widows have around 70% or more resist to psi. -

Dear Castle,
Please give every single armor set every form of mitigation because there can't be any type of weakness.

[ QUOTE ]
Dear Castle,
I know that Regeneration can, if played correctly, be the most powerful scrapper secondary in the game. However that isn't good enough for me. I've noticed that it has one minor weakness, and instead of taking the time to cover that weakness with IOs, like every other armor set in the entire game has to, I'd prefer if you just changed the set so that Regeneration has no weaknesses whatsoever.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Noobz McGee
P.S. Can someone please show me where the 'Spellcheck' button is?
[/ QUOTE ]
Did you two even read his post? What he asked for was completely reasonable. Every other Scrapper defense set that I can think of has some kind of debuff resists to whatever kind of buff it provides, and the numbers were completely reasonable. Its not like he asked for 100% resists to -regen/recharge.
Oh, and the Devs said (somewhere) when IOs were introduced that the game will not be balanced off of IOs, so, Aces, your point is completely invalid. -
[ QUOTE ]
Nah, in Hindsight the devs just wish they hadn't made the epic pools for Heroes so *good*. Hence watered down Patron powers.
Maybe they'll Force Respec you? Maybe nothing will be impacted at all and you'll just unlock both blue and redside epic pools if you betrayed your side.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, I like Patron Powers >.>
Edit: And I think they will keep Villains with PPPs and Heroes with APPs. They would have to make 4 new epic pools for every AT (except PB/WS) if it wasn't like that, because heroes don't have PPPs and Villains dont have APPs at the moment. -
I believe it is Incinerate>GFS>Cremate>Fire Sword.
But, I have a related question: On my FM/SS I have been using Inc>Scorch>Cremate>FS>Scorch since I dont have IOs yet, and I can do that with just a recharge SO in Inc with only a slight delay between the end of the first part and beginning of the next (Scorch>Inc). I calculated the DPS at around 173 (Level 50 with 3 common damage IOs in every power), but that can't be right, because Inc>Scorch>Cremate>Scorch is 170 DPS... Am I doing something wrong or is it really 173 DPS? -

You don't have to have been conducting any scientific inquiry or involved with any experiments for it to be Science origin. Walking down the street and getting splashed with toxic waste from a passing truck would be Science origin.

That would be a scientific accident, sitting in the sun and yelling at kids would not

I did it on a team a few days ago where our tank was a Fire/Fire, and we killed him just fine. He kept Reichsman's aggro and the Claws/Regen Scrapper kept the other AVs aggroed (with only a leak or two), and we took him down in 5-10 minutes or so.
I don't recall the tank getting stunned at all. He might have died once (don't remember for sure) but if he did someone got him back up really quick without anyone else dying. -
QR
All you have to do is ask people around your level if they want to run some mishes. When I don't feel like AE I can get a decent sized team to run some paper/contact mishes in like 5-10 minutes.
