Mhm, doesn't sound too pretty to me.

Force Fields plus melee attacks would completely mitigate the need for defense as well, and basically turn Wildcards into the WoW equivalent of old bubblers - basically unkillable.

Not really, it all depends on the AT modifiers. A Scrapfender, Wild Card, what have you running Tank melee mods (or thereabouts seems most likely) won't be putting out as much damage as a Scrapper could under the same conditions. If they have higher damage than Defenders, their buff/debuff will also be lower. Besides, Force Fields on Defenders already doesn't render the need for defense useless.

Now if they did have Scrapper melee mods AND Defender buff/debuff mods? Yeah, that'd be broken.
  2. I like the concept of the Wildcard and have been wanting a Scrapfender for a long time, though I don't think I'd go about it quite that way. I'd rather do something like Aion's Chanter class, which has melee attacks, team support that doesn't require a lot of attention except when things go south, and a fair amount of personal protection.

As a disclaimer, both of my VEATs are sub-level 20 and I haven't played them in quite awhile. That and this is honestly the first time I've seen it mentioned (never seen any VEATs take or use it).

The world's fine. He said SR's Lucky was more or less like Ninjitsu's Hide. They're not even both toggles.
  4. I feel I should point out that the VEAT Leadership isn't the same as Pool Leadership. Different modifiers and VEATs don't get Vengeance. It's also no different than a Tank/Brute getting Taunt and Provoke, a Scrapper getting Confront and Challenge, Dark Armor/Energy Aura taking it's stealth power and Stealth, Empathy/Sonic/Pain Dom/Thermal taking mez protection and Stimulant, Regeneration/Willpower getting Fast Healing/Quick Recovery and Fitness, etc. Scrappers having two copies of Caltrops would be like Controllers, until recently, getting a second PFF in Mace Mastery if they had a FF secondary or Kheldians being able to double up on travels if they were allowed to take the pools.

I have absolutely no idea how they could now change this up now, but IMO, it could stand to be changed.
What comes to mind is this, "I don't like you and I should take you down for what you've done. But this guy that you hate, I hate even more than I hate you. So, you help me take him out and I'll give you a break for awhile. So deal? Or do I need to break your other leg?"
  6. Lucky is hardly similar to Hide at all. It's a passive defense power versus a toggle stealth power with some defense. Regardless, as said, a basic stealth power would be fine.

Blinding Powder would be perfectly fine for Scrappers and Tanks. Brutes would have some fury issues with it, but it'd be no worse than the already existing Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear in Dark Armor.

Smoke Flash would be fine on Scrappers, who are not the designated aggro-magnets. They're survivable damage-dealers and occasionally back-up tanks. Tanks and Brutes would probably need a whole new power. Sure, they could keep it, but I don't see it helping them much at all.

Caltrops on Scrappers would need to be swapped. The sky's the limit since in proliferation the cottage rule doesn't apply. Perhaps some sort of sleep gas or something instead? Or if the devs were mean, they'd split the toggles and replace it with an AoE defense toggle.

I'd be far from saying Ninjitsu proliferation "just won't happen". Scrappers would probably see it first since it'd take less work (stealth power, replace caltorps) whereas Brutes would probably see it last. It'd be easier to do than Earth Assault, which, while literally a new set, was part of the last round of proliferation. Though if we go purely on a "how much work would it take" basis, we'll probably see Energy Aura and Regeneration moved around some first.
  7. But what if that's what you want it to do? Also doesn't stop from slotting Dragon's Tail with knockback (assuming I remember correctly).
  8. What about instead you do things to disrupt your arch instead of directly PvP them (but perhaps leave direct PvP as one of the opt in options). For example, you hear Bob is on a mission, so you go do X. Once you've done X, a squad of Longbow ambush Bob in his mission. Or he gets hit with a Chemical Warhead nuke. Or somesuch or othersuch that'd be debilitative and disruptive without direct conflict between the players.
  9. Related question: does landing a hit, forced or not, reset streak breaker? Or does keep going until it forces a hit?
  10. I'll join in if I'm available at whatever time it takes place.
  11. I PvP some myself, usually at TNFs on Thursdays I don't work.
  12. Do I need to be the player of both characters? If not, I got a pair and, if so, I could easily secure permission as I doubt she'd say no to art.

Lenari, my character, on the left (obviously a fairy) and Zea Mays Everta on the right (a fire imp), played by Tsuki Sumarasu.

    PvP IOs

Because people don't already PvP IO farm? If the odds were the same but went 50/50 to either person, it wouldn't speed up farming at all.

Also, with the drop rates as they are, 70 days of A-merit farming is probably faster than PvPing. I PvP from time to time (which is probably more than most players, even though it's very little time) and my only PvP drop was about a year ago. Purples drop waaaaay more often than PvP IOs.

High recharge. The debuff durations on most of the blasts are pretty short, so you have to be firing pretty quickly to get maximum self-stackage. But, I certainly get more damage out of Shout by doing Shriek > Scream > Shriek > Shout instead of skipping the second Shriek.
  15. I remember reading that a long time ago. Just forgot most of the details. It sounds like a coordinated team of three can coax heavies to spawn by beating up everything except one minion.
  16. One thing struck me as odd last night during my Rogue morality tip. A certain NPC in the mission offered me a certain job that would clearly be crossing the moral event horizon. The mission automatically scripts you as saying "screw you, not crossing that line" and then beating everyone up. But, what if my character was just that depraved he'd do it (in this case he wasn't, but still)?

So, you know those Praetorian morality missions? What if we made the morality tips more like those? In that mission, give me the option. If I chose to accept the offer, It'd be equivalent to denying the alignment change reward, thus staying villain, and I'd finish the mission by completing that job. If I rejected it, I'd play the mission like I do now. It'd make more sense than just saying at the end "Nope, don't consider me less evil even though I just saved everyone".

This would, of course, require a fair chunk of work. About equal to writing up another 12 missions (I'm correct in my guess there's 12 morality tips total?) plus possibly cutscenes and a little bit of other work. It'd probably make the morality tips single player if that sort of thing requires it to be from a code standpoint. But, I believe the change would be worth it, as morality tips really don't seem to carry the weight that Praetorian morality missions have since there's no choice to make, even though Praetorians are rather whimsical about who they fight for.

Ok, but what if you're a Rogue (or whatever you are) doing Rogue tips and then reaffirm your Rogue morality? Well, logically, you wouldn't have a choice, the mission would go down the Rogue path. I mean, it wouldn't make sense to be a Rogue already, do more Rogue stuff, and then suddenly revert back to a Villain because there's no line to cross, whereas with changing alignments you're crossing a line.
  17. Managed to spawn about four heavies (paired in separate spawns) with a group of... 12-16ish? Not sure if the Clockwork Paladin we decided to attack in the middle of the invasion had anything to do with it.
  18. As far as I know, your only other options are to run Windows in some fashion or another (like Bootcamp) and use Mid's or to do it by hand. 'Tis a shame.
  19. This event made me realize one thing: CoX needs epic aerial battles.

    Life Drain

That could possibly work if it did two rapid ticks, the first giving the targets about one second of mag 10 kb protection and then the second tick applying the 10.67 kb.

    Problem Enemies

I completely forgot about PPD Ghosts due to my strong desire to never see one again. They're minions and can appear multiple times in a single spawn. You just need two or three (or one that out levels you) to send you to the defense and to-hit floor in seconds. Resistance doesn't matter, they're a low level mob (20ish if I recall) so you're not going to have a ton anyway. They hit you once with the I Win Button and it's good game, no matter what you're playing.
  22. My Rad/Sonic Defender's slow is still applying with Lingering Radiation. Are all of you having issues Corruptors?

I'll cut it there for now. There's still a lot more. But you could probably basically sum it up as almost any given enemy in the game can be a problem for one build or another.
  24. Interesting, but there's a fairly big issue. If the Restructurists are saying Primal Earth is going to invade them again and that's why they need to go to war, then how does invading them again prove the Restructurists wrong?
