    2. This forum isn't much different than any other.. most posters mean well, but come off as complete jerks...

btw, Forbin just because you were actually right in this case doesn't mean you didn't come off looking like a jerk (at least to this neutral observer).
Still implying it's broken ... May I suggest other terminology like changed, edited, improved

Would go a long way in ending the snark.
  2. Isn't a more applicable example: You're a salesman that shares profit with a group. When one of you make a sale you all make some money. But, if you work at making a sale, but a customer makes the sale, you get nothing.

I don't like the chance that I won't get anything. That's why I've never mad ill troller.

Also, if the customer has any part of the sale process, he also gets a cut, it may be smaller, but it's still a cut that goes no where.

Too risky for me ... I'm bad at last hit concepts.

The next day, he walks up to you and hands you 75 cents. Half an hour later, he comes back and gives you 75 cents again. All day, he shows up on every hour and every half hour and gives you 75 cents each time.

    Which would you prefer?
The second ... which is attacks without confuse. If they(enemies) get the last hit you get no XP at all ... correct?

In any case. I'll let the Dev's deside, if they make it, whether they want to put a confuse. You're more that welcome to put in your vote and concept like this

    base counter minor damage stun

    Asubdue: hold
    Bunbalance: moderate damage KD
    Cdeflect: foe confuse

I'm with you ... The detoggle is annoying.

(if memory serves)All status effects used to detoggle powers, and the Dev's changed that. Why can't they change it for the travel powers ... This is in NO way me agreeing with attacking from said travel power. Just that all SELF effecting toggles should remain active and even give their respective buffs.

So, you're requesting that every time you stop to attack you have to toggle your powers on ... then when you start moving again, they detoggle again ... talk about toggle hell. Not to mention being locked into a fight to the finish ... forget trying to escape, you'll definatally die.

    Sounds like a bad idea.

And the "silver surfer rides a board" reason doesn't work ... because he's a blaster and everyone can get the powers in question, and not everyone is a blaster. Aladin is a melee person ... did you ever see him fight while on the magic carpet?!?

    Ok ...

Meeting Villian buddies in the bar ...

Me: "Look guys, Statesmans boot, I kill him. Isn't that cool"

    Bar: "HAHAHHA"

    Bar goer: "GJ killer HAHAHA"

Me: "I did help ... really ... they said they couldn't have done it without me ... I know Recluse" *walks away sulking muttering to self* "I was instrumental in his death" *Looks at boot with weary eyes* ... *sigh*

Would this mean the mitigation would bypass the purple patch since it would be a proc on self for the enemies?!? Kinda like bruise is a self -20% res.

I considered the confuse aspect ... but I'd rather not touch anything that takes XP away from me.

Info from game geniuses on what 3 mitigations are not resistable by any given enemy group. I.E. What 3 mitigations would be best to pick.

    ... Wait!
As a hero/villain, his death doesn't happen till we are already 50ish ... so that wouldn't make much sence.

But if that was the case, Villian would HAVE to wear a statesman helmet till 40 :P Kidding.
  10. Before you read ... Recognize the names are just that ... names and would be worded how Dev's choose should they choose the idea. Please put types of feedback in separate paragraphs. Please no critisizing unless you're going to add helpful alternatives. Thanks For reading ... enjoy.

    Defensive set: counter strike

The concept is that in the process of blocking attacks you take advantage of weaknesses and counter attack.

Basic Counter has a minor smashing damage with a stun effect mag 1.

CtC means Chance to Ccounter strike

1 Combat readiness: [toggle] def melee 10% CtC

2 Evasive maneuvers: [toggle] def ranged 10% CtC

3 Combat awareness: [toggle] PBAoE +def all foe -dam

4 Battle tested: [auto] status resistance 20 recharge buff 10% CtC

    5 Counter:
    A subdue: hold
    B unbalace: KD Moderate damage
    C psych: -toHit fear

6 Chi regen: [click] self HoT = 35% over 10 sec, CtC buff 50% for 10 sec buffs mag to 5 for 5 sec

7 Fast feet: [toggle] def AoE 10% CtC

    8 Desensitize: S/L res 10% CtC

9 Heat of Battle: 60% res 50% recharge buff constant HoT of 5% health every sec Def debuff protection at 100%
Lasts 30 sec, has a 75% end drain on crash.

Set weaknesses: No KB protection, no def debuff protection accept in T-9, and low resistance.
These weaknesses are made up for in Mitigation ability.

Me too (rage quitting) ... They are so much fun. I enjoy saying nice things to them, which just makes them more mad. (like my EX wife) LOL

Me: "I'm on your side dude. I can't stand this issue either"

I don't see why not ... as long as they are willing to pay for it. I would only pay for one. Additional ones would be more.

In any case. They, most likely, won't do it anyway. So, doesn't matter.

This would be the best solution ... Gives options for RPers, and changes nothing for other gamers.

Do the "rent an apartment" mission. Hunt for what you can afford ... blah blah blah

    Sounds like RPing fun.

It would have it's own sever ... when you're inside your apartment, It's just you a citizen of CoH/V.

You would select a building in any city to be your apartment building, when you click the door to it, you move to the apartment/house server. (I would be fine with it being a global apartment too ... all toons/servers connect to it.)

It's not supposed to be a damage/taunt aura ... I need to add one.

Even if it was, Fire has a damage aura as the 1 power choice.

I'll make some changes to make a damage aura.

The option to choose a red band instead I accept ... But if I was a villian ... I would want to show the world that I defeated Statesman. Maybe an emote that has me whipping out his cape or showing his helmet off. But, I would want something. Nearly ALL villians get caught because they can't help but tell someone about the success.

I don't think I've ever seen a definitive "No", but I've seen several firm redname responses that basically boiled down to "Don't hold your breath".

I wouldn't complain about housing becoming an option though.
I Don't see a problem with them making a dedicated server for those that would like this feature ... They could tack on an additional Monthly cost for it. I wouldn't assume the price, but $5 seems acceptable to me. If it was functional I might even join the band wagon ... as long as there were pre-made options. Designing a base is why I never made a base.
  20. Defensive set: Vampiric Defense ("Vampiric" is just a word to infuse a viual concept, not a final name.) please respond as such.

I've always felt that Vampires were more resistance based because they tend to let their foe hit them and then just smile and take the health back by way of drinking their blood (life steal)

1 Life steal: [toggle] 10% (can be changed to not be OP) of all damage done returns as a self-heal. The only coding (I imagine) this would take is a check on what damage was dealt by player, then the heal %. It's not like fiery Embrace, it has no effect on indevidual powers. This power would be less effective against res based opponents.

    2 Unbreakable: [auto] res s/l/c/e

3 Old soul: [auto]status resistance, res s/l/n/psy (special: 50% of psy damage taken is returned to attacker.)

4 Healthy fear: [toggle] def s/l/f fear res

5 Dark will: [Toggle] PBAoE minor psy damage -regen confuse

6 Wisdom of ages: [toggle] def s/l/f confuse res

7 Mental awareness: [toggle] PBAoE team +perception, res confuse, res psy, def fire

8 Impervious skin: [auto] res s/l/c/e/n/toxic

9 Feeding frenzy: [click] PBAoE def all(per target), res all(per target), regen(per target), recovery(per target), DoT damage. Crash: -50% end/health

1 is something I think would be fun.

Pls: comment on concept and practicality in 2 separate thoughts/paragraphs if possible.

No comments on "names" unless you have a replacement recommendation.

    The final numbersfor tank

    s/l def: about 10%

    fire def: about 25%

    s/l res: about 75%

    c/n/e res: about 50%

    toxic res: about 40%

    How's the new concept?
