Are the bunkers still be able to be swapped between a group of Heroes and Villains working together? Or do they count only fresh captures? It's been a long time since I've tried for that badge ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now that you mention it, I recall something about this last year, where credit was only being recorded from "Neutral" turrets... well after I earned mine though, and I don't recall if it was a bug or by design. Let's check ze Viki...

Here is what I did and it worked.

    1. Hero vs Hero Pentad
    2. Rated
    3. 30 minute timer
    4. Super Heavyweight

After we won the match, we received the badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As Draggynn said setting Pentad matches as "rated" does not seem to be required for them to award the badge. Since that kind of thing matters to some people that's worth pointing out. I've yet to need any of these arena matches be set to "rated" in order for the badges to drop.

anyone else having problems not advancing even though you win the first rounds of a swiss tourney?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes we were having trouble with Swiss matches until we figured it out.

Apparently if you actually try to "play" a match for real (as in if you actually fight each other as you are technically supposed to) then the game seems to randomly decide which player will advance in the Swiss regardless of the outcome of the fight.

But if you decide amongst the 8 players who will be the designated "winner" and make sure the other 7 players just quit their matches without combat then you can reliably get the "winner" to win and get the badge.

We sent bug reports in on this assuming anyone would ever want to play these kinds of matches "for real" sometime.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't recall me saying it was required, I stated what I did to get the badge and what I did that didn't award the badge. So, no rated isn't worth anything to me, but thanks for assuming

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually I wasn't thinking about you in particular when it comes to rated matches at all. Get over yourself.
I was adding to the information you provided for those people who worry about those kinds of things.
Your list implied the exact settings needed regardless if that was your intention or not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Since when did Badge Collectors care about ratings? Show me a post in the past 5 years where a badger complained about ratings when it comes to earning a badge.

And my list does not state exact, it states what I did, and I shared my information with others to show how I obtained the badge. Sorry for trying to [censored] help. I guess you can't make a single [censored] post on these forums without having someone dissect it like a science project. Don't worry, it won't happen again.

    [ QUOTE ]
But for the record, as stated in the patch notes...

In addition to the above new badges the following ‘Weightclass’ badges will now correctly be granted to players who win a rated scheduled match!

So if this is true, then the weightclass badges are bugged in 2 aspects.

    1. The match doesn't need to be rated.
    2. The match doesn't need to be scheduled.

But for the other badges, I did both rated and not rated, and the outcome was the same as my previous post. Villains can not earn this badge for some reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You of all people should know just how vague and unreliable 99.9% of documentation the Devs provide for this game is. That's why us badgers have to share our own real information just like this...

    [/ QUOTE ]

And the documentation isn't as bad as you make it out to be. Things get missed, its called being human, and no human is perfect.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This has nothing to do with the discussion, but since you're reading this thread: Beef, I need some help with my BH.com login name as my email address has changed. I tried to make contact a few times since January with your crew but haven't gotten a response. PM me if you wanna help, don't if you're intentionally avoiding me in order to keep me off the top ten badgers' list.

There. Now, back to the conversation.

(Edit: Please tread the above comment of "intentionally avoiding me to keep me off the top badgers list" as deadpanned sarcasm. I have absolute respect for Beef_Cake and his efforts throughout the years, and would like to state publicly that, well, I'm obviously not very funny to the voices outside of my head. So, Beef: Sorry if the post ticked you off.)

(The other voices in my head are still debating the humor impact. It's quite loud in here. Emotions are flying all over the place.)

I just want to say that most of those characters likely really are girls, because there are a lot of us on this game. I run into them all of the time.

I run into 'em all the time too. Again, and again, and again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would be foolish of haters on your idea to point that out turg.

After all spiders don't have web coming out their hands either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, someone had to go there, so kudos, 300. XD

(Still like my idea tho. Nyaah.)

If this is the case, I might be able to help out...unfortunately the vast majority of my influence it being held at the Bank of J-Force...under J-Man's mattress...with some 1960's Playboy back-issues...

so i i understand correctly, it is an accolade that does nothing but give you a new title if you click it. way to go dev's. give us an accolade that does nothing. no sense in getting it then.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are precedents for that however: Force of Justice, Stouthearted, etc. Granted, I'd like a wee bit of bling with all my accolades, but this isn't the first time they've done it.

I'd LIKE to say it fits with the general accolade design (collect X badges for Y accolade), but there are exceptions to that too, like Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member, or VIP.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, the developers do not seem to have the ability to make reasonable requirements for badges. If it isn't one extreme (too trivial) it is the other (too tedious).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not all the Architect badges were unreasonable, however. A fair amount of them were very reachable within the first few weeks of "normal" gameplay.

I'll reiterate my original premise: Badges should not have been released with I14 at all for Architect, but released in tiers for several major updates afterwards (while still tracking the values behind-scenes from day one). That way, the "urge" to farm for badges becomes deadened by not knowing the req's for them right out of beta, but becomes more and more an objective acquired through normal gameplay.

If they had done this for Architect, I think most people would have focused on Architect itself, rather than being a vehicle for badge farming, which is what triggered the "mah bucket^H^H^H^H^H^Hbadgez!" response.

I ran the KTF 3 times and all of them were a success. Rads and Ice make it much easier. So I will bring a full pack of Shivs with me and I recommend take a minute and go on a run to get them cause it makes it go smoothly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is the KTF what the new TF is being called? As in Kahn TF?

    Luna

[/ QUOTE ] I thinkn this is the first time I've seen it referred that way. I've mostly seen RTF and RSF (Reichsman Task/Strike Force).

Unless I HAVE seen it already but thought people were talking about Katie TF. lol Oops?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah KTF is way too similiar to KHTF for my tastes. Oh well. Just trying to keep up with what's going on

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wonder why people don't use 5TF/5SF.

    300.. or 300k, or 300M?

    lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

At first, I figured it for a joke. After reading your take on it, yeah, coulda been a typo.

(I can help with the 300 INF. The rest, not so much.)
  13. [ QUOTE ]
so has anyone gotten the accolade yet? and if so what does it do if anything?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    GNDN.

    (Goes nowhere, does nothing.)

Got it last night after an arena pow-wow on Freedom. The arena badges are frightfully farmable; hardest one to do is Swiss Draw, but you can speed it along to where it's barely an issue so long as you have the requisite eight players. Pentad's ridiculously simple (but as Beef points out, bugged for villains).
  14. [ QUOTE ]
The funny part is i still have "Architect LXXV" as my badge title, even though there aren't even that many AE badges remaining. lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bastage. I had Chosen One reset to "City Traveler" on all my heroes. :P It WASN'T reset on one of my MMs, but I changed it reflexively when I saw I was awarded a badge that I already had (Poor Impulse Control - ironic, huh?).
  15. Hats off to Hatter for some timesaving ideas on setting this up. It'll be a cinch on Friday. Cheers!
  16. [ QUOTE ]
see this is where i would lol @ devs saying pvp is more active now..all ppl do are pvp IO farming and lol badges..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pro badgers farm it for a day or two 'til we get it. Then we help out by conscientiously inserting ourselves into the PVP community and cleaning house by smacking you with our badge belts as a temp power. Hah. Didn't know you got that, did you? Thought we were all just addicted, did you?
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Not to derail Turg's thread, but King Sac & I were going to do some of the arena badges tonight, starting at around 10-10:30pm eastern.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm helping out right now in Pocket D. Monkey Club, upper level, in the back. The old "Empath Corner". I'll be there with all my toons tonight at least, but will still schedule for the Pentad on Friday. More days after too as needed, but definitely Friday.
  18. Most of you know the kinda runs I set up for badgeaholics. (And yeah, there are better people than me, but hey, I'm the "get the ball rolling" kinda guy around here.)

I'm looking for a list of names to fill out a "Pentad" team for badging purposes. We'll be going the path of least resistance to guarantee the badge win for all participants; then, as our temperaments permit, we'll go all out and do it for REAL and see which pod of badgers actually knows how to PVP.

Sign up here with your name, archetype and availability, tentatively on Friday evening around 11pm Eastern. Remember, we'll need one each of every class on each team. So, we can accomodate two hero teams, or one hero/one villain team. (Or two villain teams, but to heck with that, Turg wants a badge. ;P) (But I can set that up after we get the first wave.

I might be able to put something together. I only did the two for Kheldians because someone suggested it, and there was already animation/VFX there for shape-changing. VEATs don't have any sort of shape-changing powers to pull directly from.

    VEAT animation:

Spin a web cocoon around yourself, have it stick for a second, then bust out of it with the new costume.

There ya go. Have fun. Make sure to include "Thought of by Turg" somewhere in the image file in homage to me.

    I'll be watching.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That actually is a great idea Turg.

    They are spiders after all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you, Catharctic. I imagine it would be easiest to do by showing the web coming from their hands, but if they made a custom one for Crabbies using their backpack, that would just be wicked sick to watch.

(And I don't care if real spiders don't shoot webs out of their legs. You tell me that wouldn't look awesome, seeing the webbing coming out of all four legs.)
