Okay, I translated this via Google Language Tools, the only German I know is some choice foul language from my dad (Austrian, so proud of his "American speaking" son).
Just wanted to take a minute and offer welcome to the German crew of heroes and villains from Freedom (US East Coast) server. It looks like the forums here are rather quiet sadly, but if there's any luck, you guys an' girls are too busy with double XP weekend to bother with posting. :P
Cheers!

Quote:The spirit of /jranger agrees with you.Too many free CoX innovations are ruining the game. Do you agree?
Used to be trains were the only way to get from point a to point b, so we got to spend more time in game travelling without risk of geting experience or influence.
Then came the double experience weekends which made our characters level up twice as fast without having to travel at all.
Then came the Police scanner missions. No more lost time to travel, faster experience, more 50s sitting around collecting dust.
Then came the new maps, TFs, etc. which spread everybody out and Pocket D and Outerboros, further reducing travel time.
Recipes and IOs were introduced and immediately came an out of control market, where lowbies could sell drops and not have to struggle for their the TOs anymore.
Then merits were introduced and ruined the markets, giving players a way to beat the system get recipes that I could otherwise charge them outrageous amounts of influence for.
Then MA and their %&^%S tickets gave players yet another way to get drops without having to be on TF and SFs, or having to commit hours at a time to the game. Made everybody and their uncle either an author or a farmer, allowing them to play the game the way they wanted to with little room for recourse.
And now with I16 - color customization - players are going to be able to "tailor" their characters any way they want them. That means more players will be spending their time fooling around with characters rather than playing. And rumor has it that you'll be able to set missions in a way that you won't be able to spam begs for farms anymore ... unfaily punishing players who prefer to simply doorsitting and collecting experience/influence while they go about the laundry or cooking dinner, etc.
I believe ALL these changes -- taking together -- are ruining the game and any chance of its success.
Fortunately, the game I'm talking about being ruined is CO and DC Universe Online. Do you agree or disagree?
(Or probably does, in any rate. I'll ask him when I see him online next.) -

Sorry, I got the "come hither" look tonight. Not passing that up.
G'luck with Reichsman!

Quote:Okay, cultural bridge time. Explain this "axe" thing. My London office address is "St. Mary's Axe". To me, that's a big bladed weapon you use to dismember people with.I have every intention of posting "out there" but I think its nice to have a place where I need not fear correction when I type in stuff like colour and axe...
Colour, pah, you guys invented English, we won't quibble over the schmutz. -

Quote:Speaking pure Awesome is a feat few dare master, but the denizens of Freedom are bold and brave enough to bear the burden. There are 11 American servers and 4 Euro ones - 10 of the American ones and 2 of the Euro ones speak English - Freedom server speaks its own langauge
*cracks open a brew* And, if you don't mind, I'll pour one of our Awesome Neverending Pints for the EuroCrowd to welcome them, in their own lounge.
...it's okay. I paid the cover before enterin'. Chug-a-lug, EuroHeroes! -
Greetings, Unionites:
Just wanted to throw down a friendly "hello" as a player from the Freedom server. Always good to have new faces in the mix! Feel free to drop by my home server forum and fly the Union colors any time ya like!

IRON's website runs under a similar board. It'd be nice if we could do our own HTML entries, but hey.
*wavewavewave* Still settling down for dinner here, will BBL. Y'know.. the red for the "villain" theme is more rust... -
*pats this thread* Ah, good times. So many haters. Let's see if they come back for a visit again this weekend.
-
I'll miss ya, UBB forum. You supported five years of flame threads and barely missed a beat.
Love ya, baby. Sad to see you go. Hopefully the New Hawtness will make me forget you really quick. -
First trial under MB: 7 mins.
Send run ITF under Alt: About an hour, give or take 15 mins I think? Well executed by all players! Thanks for squeezing me in at the last minute! -

*pats your 1000-post head* Everyone's a hero in their own way. -
Hmm. I really wanna do the Mender Lazarus SF (best of the three IMO), but it'll be a bit late for me. Next time, I guess. Good luck, it's a great story!
-
Tch. Okay. Here's the skivvy.
First, sorry I've not posted in two months. The last month's been crazy hectic, so all my "play" time went out the window.
Good news is, that's over. Bad news is, I haven't worked on revising Act II beyond a few basic tweaks as proof of concept for sizing tests. So, nothing new on this front. But, I've been sketching out the new Acts for some small time now... with luck to be ready before Sept.
Yeah, I said Acts, plural. ...anyone who's read my Planetside fan fics knows I always underestimate the # of chapters I estimate for a given story. I did the same here. So, if it's not too much of a tease... I'll be adding an "Interlude" act between 2 and 3 to fill out the story a bit more, for peripheral action to cement just how bleeped you are before Act 3.
Cheers,

The last mish was just pure comedy.
...and because of the circumstances, I think we need to make Master runs earlier. If we're not hitting mish 5 by midnight, we just get all sorts of sloppy due to exhaustion. We're old. It's okay. We'll do our dinners at 3pm and drink our Ensures before committing to the Master runs. But I DO think it would be to our benefit to make "mish 5 by midnight" a gameplan... -

It's funny, this is based on actual messages I've seen in broadcast:
Player1: Level 23 brute, lft!
Player2: Level 24 corr, lft!
Player3: Level 24 MM, lft!
Me: Why don't you three all join up together?
Player1: Level 23 brute, lft!
Player2: Level 24 corr, lft!
Player3: Level 24 MM, lft!

More common than you know. It's not uncommon in other MMOs either - I used to see this in Planetside back in 2003-2004 - but on teaming in COH, there's definitely a mentality of "feed me, pay my bills, just don't make me make a decision" when it comes to teaming.
And conversely, all it takes is two seconds of inviting to cure it. Sure, I see these follower types on Freedom, but thankfully, there are plenty of "leader" types as well where I do it 50/50 when it comes to leading or being led. It's a mentality, and luckily there are people who buy into that mentality more these days.
So yeah, City of Wallflowers is a good name for it, but I'd prefer MWO Syndrome to genericize the phenomenon more. -
*notes the overwhelming prevalence of evil on this team so far*
*...hooray, evil!* -
I'll try this out. Supreme Soviet (bots/traps MM) for now, but I may make it my Crabbie, Rex Obscura, depending on what the team needs more.

Mr. E's team (7 players) Left off on the last 3 mishes due to it being too late to continue. Stopped playing around 1am. Concluding Friday at 1130pm.
Rollister is where we broke our backs multiple times. You just can't rush that map effectively at lvl 15...
The team consisted of the following:
[Team] Maximar: @Captain Power
[Team] Cerulean Skie: @Turgenev
[Team] Glasses: @Lucky666
[Team] Roxona MD: @roxona
[Team] Hobo Knife: @Jokerohki
[Team] Transfusione: @Lieran
[Team] Beauty in a Bubble: @Mr E-Man
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually Turg, you were the only one at 15 during that mission - everyone else started the night at levels 10 to 12. Now of course, I think everyone is at level 15 - I know Lieran leveled just before I logged off & she was 10 when we started.

REMINDER: The "wears helmets when they go potty" crew's gotta finish their run tonight at 1130pm. -
E: You can update me to being Supreme Soviet for the LGTF. Lvl 50 Bots/traps MM.
