Quote:Odd, I was online during that time. Still having the issue today?WHOA!
I try and play a little COH and I get this error for Freedom.
I can connect to the other servers just fine, but not Freedom!!
edit: I can't connect to victory either.
HNY, regardless. BTW, I need a favor from you. I'll /tell you about it. -

*types out on his Palm Pre* Happy... New... o wait there's my champagne again

Quote:No, still working that way. But usually, when I TP into a hot zone, things die.Er...
Have they fixed that? Since otherwise, if you're attacked/attack someone in PVP, you're suppressed. For everyone else, it means "you're slower," for teleport it means "No travel power for you."At least they used to... it's been a few months... rusty... *urk*
Having that extra 60 yds in combat is still VERY handy however. Yes, Suppression kicks in, but it also kicks out. The trick is knowing how to work around that, I suppose. -
Cheers, Vex! Just ordered my New Year's pizza with the wife for an evening of Ghost Lab, BSG and 15 minutes of Dick Clark.

You could always try befriending Lucky. Watch.
"Hey, Lucky. PL me, ol' pal?" -
Quote:Do you have to improve it? No. 100 yds in an eyeblink is a nice speed. Endurance redux will do you better long-term.I have a Level 25, Fire/Fire Scrapper, Smoken Ashes, that I chose to go with a Teleport as Travel skill and Hover is more for show (character never walks) and I like taking my time while moving about. I use Teleport Foe as my sole range attack (and dropping mobs off buildings) If I had vet reward I would drop this in an instant.
Currently I have fight speed in hover and Swift (from fitness) and I can usually chase down running foes in hover. While I would like it to be faster and I can get where I want instantly with Teleport (within 100 yards). Teleport is slotted with a Endurance Reduction.
My question is how should I improve this?
Should I add slots to any power, currently all are at one (or to swift). While Adding range to Teleport would be nice, I don't see to much problem jumping only 100 yards a hop, and it makes it easy to calculate how many hops I will need.
Or should I just leave it and focus on my primary and secondary powers?
(btw: Endurance is three slotted with SO Endurance Modifiers, and is my only addition slot on auxilary power pool)
Do you WANT to improve it? Eventually, yes. Places like the Shard are just hella ridiculous to TP around at 100 yds a hop.I 3-slotted mine and TP around 164 yds a hop. Coupled with one Endurance IO, and I've got an awesome ability to TP pretty much anywhere on a combat field, PVP or PVE, and have a good amount of "runaway" speed when being chased. Coupled with Hover for endurance recovery while I hover in mid-air, and all told it's a great thing.

Quote:Focus on you, not other people. What's the one thing that you wish someone would have told you when you first started out? I have played other MMORPG's before so I have a little experience. What specifically about this game should I know?
Thanks in advance for your help.
What does this mean? It means that ultimately, what YOU like is paramount compared to what other people TELL you is worth liking. If you roll a scrapper and *shudder* don't take Super Jump as a travel power, don't let people make you regret it if you're actually enjoying your alternate method of transport.
DO listen to their opinions. THEN review how it makes you roll in the game. You'll learn the tricks of the trade soon enough; don't get pigeonholed into one viewpoint when there are multiple ways to look at a problem. Sure, there ARE wrong ways to do things. You'll learn those lessons no matter what.
Have FUN. It's why you bought the game. Do that, and your investment will have returned itself tenfold. -
Quote:Standard missions give out AE tickets only, plus XP/INF.How do you make your AE mission give out rewards, I see people talking about it like you can....just don't know how. ????
Dev Choice missions offer a choice of tickets OR chances at salvage/recipe/enhancement drops. (I forget, do HoF arcs get this option?) -
Been logged in since 930pm Eastern.
Taking note that E Man ain't here.
Totally not laughing at E. -
Quote:Okay, gear change here. I'm not sure if you said this already, but: Is this a REGULAR problem with you and your A-Team? Or was it a single "whoopsie" circumstance?Thats the problem. We brought an A game. We tried to pull Numina. They weren't having any of it.
A few members of the team (about 3) were new, but the guy leading and the others had done it before. It wasn't a matter of lack of experience. Just...Bah, humbug it!
Whoopsies, they happen, even to the best of us. Call it chance.
If it's a REGULAR issue, and you've NEVER been able to get this with your team, even after knowing all the tricks, making sure you're all on the same page, etc? Then I gotta turn the mirror on you and your team.
If you want to transfer to Freedom while it's available and see a run, I can ask E-Man if he wants to get one going for demonstration purposes. No promises cuz of the holidays, but we have 'til the end of Jan before that "gift" disappears. Think about it. -
*curtsies prettily* Thank you, thank you, I perform Tuesdays and alternating Fridays.
Kudos to all the authors that helped make this article one big bag of Win(tm) for COH and Architect for the masses! Special kudos to Shadow-Rush, our other Freedom Dev Choicer! -

Grats to all the authors who participated, and helped to make an article a constructive read for old and new players alike! -
Quote:This is my only theory to support your "zomg wipe" situation; that somehow, someone aggro'd early and Numina started buffing everyone. Once the buffs are up, they're considerably harder. But if your friends are competent like you claim, and you managed to pull Numina first for the drop without her buffing around, then I don't know how you could've failed unless lack of communication, skill or exhaustion had done you in.I don't know wether Numina managed to multi-buffeveyone or something. *shrug*
We run the LRSFs regularly on Freedom. The Master runs are a different story, but either way, I don't think we've ever failed one for at least 2009. Simple LRSFs take about 40 mins on average. Masters about an hour for careful work. -
Don't laugh, but throw me down for this. Supreme Soviet (bots/traps) most likely. If not him, then Rex Obscura (Crab Soldier).

Quote:Addendum: "Cannot be ...gotten around anymore." There was a circumstance for a long time where Hero/Villain bases that had coalitioned in the very early days of COV could "drop" inspirations, enhancements and salvage items on the corresponding bins for the opposing side. This permitted item migration across factions. That particular loophole was closed a while ago, however.Just to clarify a bit, though, the inability to trade between factions extends to ALL parts of the game (i.e., the markets, co-op zones/TFs/SFs/events, etc.) and cannot be overridden or gotten around. (I add this tiny point because the OP specifically asked.)
OP: You can try sending that player name an in-game email (from COV-side) to get their attention, if you didn't get their global already (in which case, "/tell @GLOBAL, message" is the easiest way to reach them). For people who catch my eye, I regularly set a "player note" flag on them, starring them for easy viewing later on.
Let's say I was you. I'd have clicked on their name in local chat, chose "Add Player Note", put X stars on them (I have my own system: 1 star for a jerk, 5 for a friend, 3 for noteworthy stranger, and 2/4... hey, I'm not using those.. hrm..), and drop in a personal comment like "great bio, must RP later". That ties to the person's GLOBAL account, so if they're on a different toon, I'll be able to find them later on. Best of all, if I have "player ratings enabled", I can pick them out easily in a crowd.
Unless, of course, there's a crowd of friends hanging around. In which case, it's gotta be a RWZ raid on Freedom.
Good luck in your bio stalking! If you need anything on Freedom, look me up here, the Freedom board, or by /tell @Turgenev. Cheers, and happy new year.

Quote:That's actually a sickeningly good point... after a season of "Storm Chasers" I have no desire to set roots anywhere south of the Mason/Dixon line and east of the Rockies. =/us northys will take our snow anyday over your toradoes and hurricanes.
Which causes more damage? I have no idea; the figures probably balance out for annual impact on a given region, but watching the Pinky of Satan reach down from a black cloud and SMUSH a trailer park? Yeah, I'll take snow and ice any day. -
Quote:ArcID? I'm curious to check it out.I finally made a mission in AE that grants rewards and while the ratings pretty good, I've been innudated with complaints that it's too hard for a non-farm. I mean come on... If a player wants to be led by the hand in an AE mission, they should make one for themselves.

Very nice catch, Fred. My only concern: Is this "by design"? If it's something that will be corrected later on, I might want to leave my existing mishes alone for fear of having to edit them later from the feedback hatemail about it.

Quote:To advocate, I'd love to see more control over the map environment for item placement and base-edit-like changes (like dropping in crashed Rikti ships on a cityscape, fires, NPC paths, etc). That would be the "next step" evolution for me in AE to really make the default maps "zip" to what's in your imagination.AE is limited, IMO, by the same things that limit the current scope of the game. No new and interesting game elements or mechanics in the main game means that there are none in AE. We can't truly create our own stuff, just rehash maps and environments that we've seen an ungodly number of times already.
To point something out: "AE is limited by the engine of the game." Well, yeah. But you can do a heck of a lot with the existing tools already. "We can't truly create our own stuff?" Have you played at all with the custom character editor for powersets and costuming? You can whip up entire RACES in that if you wanted to. And with hundreds of maps available (and I'm in the school of thought that they need to bring back a bunch that were removed), you can pretty much set up a story arc that meets, if not your exacting vision, then something intensely similar to that vision.
The editor's not perfect, but it's unique in the MMO biz. AE exploiting was a huge problem, and that was their focus for a good long time before they got it to acceptable levels. Now that the firestorm's doused, I'm hoping we can look forward to further expansions of ability and resources. Recognize the capabilities, and give it a chance to mature a bit where it might lack, before you cry dooooooom. -
Not AFAIK for "weekly", but there's a bit of interest in Hami raids, both red and blue, lately. Keep your ears open and eyes peeled for adverts from various organizers here for more info.
