Grats to the Gang for bangin' this one out. Sorry I couldn't be there, last night was just ridiculous. I'll plan on seeing you for Saturday's SF run.
Tux: Hell. Go to it. kthxbai -
Have to back out of the run tonight. Please have someone fill my seat. Sorry for the bail.

Quote:Heya:Onto Killing Romulus.....why does he rez so much? I didn't have time to ask anyone else on the team as pounding his lights out was the main goal. So for future ITF's I may wind up on, what makes this dude rez?
First, you can read any info on the Imperious Task Force at this link.
Second, the experience of Romulus and his four Nictus is that they're basically supercharging him during the fight. When Romulus falls, a Nictus "gives" his life force to resurrect him to fight you again. Doing this by the book, you have to fight Romulus four times in a row before you're done, not to mention the Nictus spawns and ranged attacks from his backup AVs. -

Ocho posted this weeks ago, didn't he? Why do I gotta do it? Why me? Whywhywhy? (Fine. Geez.)
(EDIT: I take that back, he didn't put in the text of the badge... okay, posting that to the Wiki and to here. Sorry for snarkiness. Long day.) -
Grats, Mayhem. Looking forward to giving your arc a spin.

Quote:Not exactly, and I can see why you're confused on it.Im kind of confused right now.
I bought good vs evil and i started downloading the pc client . Is this the good vs evil client? Or is good vs evil just about the bonus pack and the game itself is included in the free pc client?
Following this logic when and if i buy architect i wont need to download anything but my account will have acess to the bonus items and will have the ability to make missions?
Am I right?
The base game, "City of Heroes", has heroes, villains, Architect, zones, costumes, flaming baboons, half-naked trapeze artists, and giant fascist robots, all available to every subscriber. The "version" you buy only determines some of the "fluff" you can add to your account. This Wiki page describes it, although it doesn't include "Architect" (and needs updating.. hmm..):
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Upgrad...llains_Account
In terms of what version to buy? The best part of it is that you can buy the items "piecemeal" depending on taste. So, go for one major version that gets you the most of what you want, then add on the others as you want them.
For my money, I'd go with the Good Vs Evil edition for raw usefulness. You get one month of game time, but you also get a "jump jet" power that helps out at lower levels, and a "Pocket D" teleport power which isn't as handy as it used to be (Ouroboros portals kinda eke this out for general transport), but it's still nice to have.
As for the Architect version, this nets you one month of free gametime plus a choice of the Cyborg or Magic booster packs (Magic's my favorite, but you get a suicide nuke with Cyborg that's just hella awesome). However, either of these packs are purchasable after the fact.
Refer to this page for your purchasing options. -
Quote:1. Yes. For sheer population, Virtue and Freedom are your best bet. Next up in ranks are Infinity and (IMO) Champion, whose population may not be high, but they're very active and visible in general. Is there a server with active players?
Im online right now and i havent seen one player...
Im playing on freedom. Is this the best choice for most active and populated server? Or is city of heroes dead?
2. You posted this at 8:50am Eastern, which is where the server is located (-5 GMT). Most people are at work, of if they're unemployed they're either at school or asleep.
3. As of 10:10am there are 212 unhidden players currently in the zones. As mentioned before, however, "zone" population isn't a good indicator of general population, because you lose the headcounts of /hidden players, and of people in instanced missions (which is where 95% of your content is).
You mention later that you're an international player; Freedom is probably your best bet in general, but you might be better served with US populations that have higher counts of EU players. Freedom HAS gotten quite a bit lately; I'd stop by the server forum and shout a heya to your Eurofriends and see who chimes in. Due to lack of population for the EU servers, and seeing those players migrate here, it would behoove us to have a global channel for those international players on the US servers to find each other for teaming and whatnot.
If you want to relocate to another server, I believe server transfers are still free until the end of the month.
Cheers, and enjoy your time on Freedom, or wherever you settle. -
Quote:Shh, the Boogielothic might be watching.That's...weird. Shouldn't you have received it earlier, Turg? I mean, with your special account preview?
Seriously: I'm guessing the "badges" weren't in game until yesterday. According to my accelerated schedule, I'd be dinging them around the 6th of the month now, but this was nearly two weeks after that. I'd be fine if they withheld badge availability 'til the week of the technical anniversary. As someone would state, it'd be nice if they fixed it, but withholding the badge data 'til the scheduled anniversary would be a good patch until they figured out why there's account anniversary creep.
So yeah, got the badge. Freespec is always nice. Wish the badge name for 69 month was "Rico... Suave", but that's me. XD -

Quote:My reinvention of the OP's suggestion:Actually, if you click chat or select them, they will say something. You can refer to the wiki site for more information. Most of the civilians will just say "Nice day, isn't it?"
It would be nice to do something about the chat.
When clicking on ANY citizen, you get a dropdown menu of items to talk about. What time it is, how many hours my toon's patrolled the City/prowled the Isles, total # of players in the zone, etc.
I can't tell you how irritating it is to find an NPC whose name begins with the letter "M" sometimes. -
Good morning:
As a 37 yr old who's worn glasses since he was 8, I'm rather used to them. I'm also used to my "needs" when it comes to writing documents and whatnot. For instance, I tend to the "Wordperfect 6.0" color schema for editing, for most pleasing contrast when editing in EditPad or other text editors. With this utility, I'm able to adjust the background color, the text color and the font used. This gives me the ability to tailor the text editor to my visual needs.
Working with Architect can be a struggle in the text fields. The text isn't exactly ClearType. The pale green is set on a darker green background (not the best contrast), and due to the text size it tends to get a lot of bleedover between characters, even on a high end display. Working with the editor, simply put, gives me eye strain for longer than 40 minutes of actual sit-down work.
My request: I'd like the ability to choose between a variety of pre-designed palettes, adjusting it to what matches my visual needs/aesthetics, or, preferably, the ability to determine the colors used in the text fields as a while, from font and background colors, to (hopefully) text sizing and font selection, even from a small pool of "authorized" fonts, like Times New Roman, Courier, Arial, etc.
Thanks for reading.
(...now, if there's a way to DO this right now, please let me know immediately and I'll make the changes post-haste. XD) -
Quote:Quick clarification: Arcs you create as local content are available cross-accounts, yes. Arcs that you PUBLISH are not, and are unique to the viewing/editing of your particular publishing account. (This also means that if one acct has unlocked maps or whatnot, and you try to edit it from the other acct, it can error out for you, so watch your step.)I mentioned AE as similar in that I can see all arcs I have created no matter which account opens up the window.
Quote:The "ratings" I'm talking about are the "notes" you can add to players you play with. (Hence the stars floating above their heads) Is that stored on my computer?
Player ratings are tied to your login from C:\...\City of Heroes\USERNAME\playernotes.txt. The format of the file structure is:
Field 1: Global Name.
Field 2: Star rating.
Field 3: Alternate names seen.
Field 4: Player commentary.
For example:
"Turgenev" "5" "Dr. Turgenev, Supreme Soviet" "This guy likes to talk."
You can review this file at any time in Notepad or any other text editor. -
Got this today, so it's safe to say it's now in game. Enjoy, all.
Aaaaaand, here's the text (for heroes AND villains):
Quote:For 69 months in the City of Heroes you have earned the respect of your peers and have gained the ability to 'Respec' your character. -
-
This is a terrific idea. Well put, StormSurvivor.

Quote:Actually, when you buy a box, you get a month free, yes? Wouldn't that push out his actual turnover date to Jan 20th, since he cruised on a month free first before hitting his "paid" months?Since Veteran rewards are for time on a paid, full account, the trial time shouldn't count towards your Vet Reward total. But you started your paid account on Sept. 20, meaning you should have earned your 3 month reward on December 20.
I'm not sure on this, just hypothesizing. Either way, he'd know tomorrow.
OP: What does your "Vet Schedule" say you're due? If you look under "Game Details" on your NCSoft master page, you'll see a "Veteran Rewards" link, with info like this:
Quote:30 months - Committed Nov 6, 2006 Details
33 months - Unswerving Jan 27, 2007 Details
36 months - Addicted Apr 26, 2007 Details
39 months - Ardent Jul 26, 2007 Details
42 months - Fervent Oct 26, 2007 Details -
Quote:Which allowed me to finally get in and get the score. Thanks.Hilariously, at least 10 people quit The Hive when the Yellow Damage team wiped, which allowed others to get in for the last 10 minutes of the raid. Some people give up so easily
Looking forward to the next raid for Sat. Tonight's attendance on my part was delayed regrettably by work. Sorry for that, but inescapable. -

Quote:I'd certainly love that, but it would only have a benefit to players who make AE arcs. For those who don't, it's a bum gift. But EVERYONE can use an extra toon slot, so that makes more sense in the long run.I would rather have a bonus to AE mission memory capacity, this way a vet has a nice reward and a way to give back to the player base :-)
(Maybe we could have a choice for both.)
