World War II - the attack from the 5th Column on Independence Port
[/ QUOTE ]
That'd be a good Ouroboros arc.
Heroes fight alongside Atlas. They are the reason he was able to hold out as long as he did.
Villains help kill him. His death helped rally the heroes and the country, making him into an icon for generations. In order for the Allies to win the war... Atlas must die.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is the one I'm most interested in seeing. For four years now, I've toyed with a fanfic (never started, but really, I have the whole epic piece written in me brayne) named "The Day Atlas Fell" that recounts the last two days of his life, and what happened the day the Nazis came to call on Indy Port.
When I heard that the mission creator was announced, I ws thinking of putting my efforts into that. But if you guys opted to do it for me instead, by all means! -

Disappointing.. Another step towards CoX developing a "Cash Shop" that developes more have and have nots.
Very disappointing to say the least.

Yeah, more choices for the playerbase is NOT what the playerbase needs. What we need is a BIG RED BALL.
BIG RED BALL. Because it just makes SENSE.
/sarcasm
(BTW, I found a globish artifact that gets dropped by Propel that makes a darn good big red ball template... had an Underboss throw one at me... spent a few minutes kicking that around Sharkhead.) -

I believe we understand the intent to bring in new customers. On that same note "The Community" has been asking for JETPACKS for several years now. We were given the jingle jet for the holidays which is one of the most popular items, then we were given the Raptor Pack with the safeguards / mayhem missions.
Now you are offering JETPACKS but not to your current customer base it may be considered an incentive to bring in new customers. I find it mildly insulting for you to say "We understand the interest in the jetpack..." Thats an understatement.
I was modeling it last night in Atlas park and it generated alot more than an interest, and that wasn't even during peak game time.
I would once again ask you to continue looking into JETPACKS for your current customer base in some fashion.

Get Fly.
Nuff said.
(And I'd love to see vets get a jinglejet at some point, just not with this degree of entitlement that I've been reading here.)
[/ QUOTE ]
weather or not I have fly is not the point of this discussion. This is about the new Game Card and the new temp power JetPack.
Its a great idea and I support it fully in the aspect they intend to use it to get new customers to replace the vets and others who eventually move to the next great thing. Some come back, some don't. I haven't left yet maybe I will someday, but until then I would like to enjoy the game the way I enjoy it without being a burden to you and your style of play.
At lvl 50 if I want a lvl1 character that flies out of the gate I have to be a PB. Or I have to wait until I get hover at 6, raptor from safeguard, or if during the holidays jingle jet, which I happen to think is a awesome holiday item, and would like it to remain so.
Why do you think It is linked to some type of entitlement. We as a community have been wanting a jetpack for our hero concepts weather with a temp fly power attached or a receipt like rocket boots for sometime.
Thanks for the bandwith

Entitlement.
Understand: I think jetpacks should be an additional backpack item, similar to wings and whatnot. NOT as a power, but as a costume item. I think it's a good idea. What I think is a POOR PRESENTATION of that idea is your post.
So, yeah. Entitlement. -

Can you also ask about the hero gear kit stuff? Even if it doesn't include time, just a code to get the VIP badge and powerslide.
[/ QUOTE ]
IMO, it'd be for the badge, if you're a badger... that power slide just looks goofy.I find myself using the prestige Rush and Dash all the time these days for my travel FX. Different strokes, though...

Great job working the trailer edits. Smooth, sensible, and the slight fade to Recluse at the end was perfect.
Bottom line? Loved it. Much better than "Cats". I'm going to see it again and again. -

We understand the concerns, and the unsettled feelings, however we are going to take advantage of the opportunities we have to do fun and dynamic events when we are able. Ultimately growth and success of events like this will mean growth and success for future events and we have to start somewhere.

May I suggest the East Coast?Srsly, east of the Mississippi would be a good start for you guys. Us Right Coasters're feelin' NO love from y'all, and all we wanna do is buy you beers.
(And get in-game items. But I digress.) -

I'm just trying to remember what I gave Daria for that last screenshot.

FYI: There's a bug in the Supergroup chat system where colons (the : character) will cause the SG MotD and the "prestige owed" auto-message to appear as clickable links. Clicking these links will cause an IMMEDIATE application crash. If you have a colon in your SG message, REMOVE IT until they fix the bug. You can't help the "prestige owed" message (well, you can if you pay it), but I'd suggest putting in a warning in the MOTD about it as well.

Voice Command/Voice Dialing: I was disappointed that Microsoft Voice Command wasnt included I am not crazy about the included voice dialing software & I will probably purchase MS Voice Command in the near future.
*snip*
Touch Keyboard/Keypad: I like these & I have no problems not having a physical keyboard. The xt9 functioning works quite well and the keys are easily usable even with my fat fingers.
[/ QUOTE ]
These were the two reasons why I ditched my Touch after 3 days actually. Yes, the form factor is quite nice; it feels good in the hand, it's a nice net-tethered PDA, yadda, yadda.
But as a PHONE, the visceral experience was awful.
I like being able to finger-drive a phone number w/o having to look where I'm typing. Key nubs permit that. This phone doesn't; you have to be looking at it for you to get any accuracy on your dialing.
The absence of Voice Command? WTH were they thinking?! Every phone I've had for the last four years has had some iteration of it! I even tried recording voice tags (which, btw, you have to do for EVERY ENTRY... so it's not just "Mom", but "Mom Home", "Mom Cell", "Mom Work", etc. I have 300+ contacts...)
I think the clincher for me was when I was stuck in traffic, had my Bluetooth headset on, and spent TWENTY MINUTES trying to call one person, and the Touch absolutely NOT getting it right, even with there being only 2 recorded entries on the frickin' phone! I didn't even go home at that point; I drove right to Best Buy and wiped it for a refund immediately.
Got myself the new RAZR V7. Not my phone manufacturer of choice (I prefer Samsungs), but it had a keypad, and I could use Voice Command immediately.
As I said: Great gadget. AWFUL phone. And when you're buying a mobile phone, the "phone" part of it is integral to me. -
Good write-up. It always makes me laugh when people hail Rome or Greece as being the centers of the world's greatest empires, but people always forget about Asia.
BTW, saw your Myspace pic. How're you liking the Touch? I'll give you my impressions after you give yours. I wouldn't want to sour them. XD -
*waitin' on the expository* Poe's good, but looking forward to your breakdown of his character and history.

Similar in concept to our character creator, it allows you, the players, to create missions and story arcs for your characters and others to participate in. Youll be able to pick the map, villain group, and objectives, as well as write the dialog and any clues needed for the missions. When you are satisfied with it, you can upload it and have other players across all servers play it and rate it.

Woah. Awesome.

Whoah squared. You just made Turg a happy camper. I've had a bunch of stories I was hoping to write one day. Now I'll just make it content for the community. -

As I'll be getting 6 slots when this goes live, I've actually found no need to buy right now.But this is MOST DEFINITELY awesome. Great structure and implementation, and addresses big QoL concerns people had with the character selection/management screen.
I can't say it enough, Devs. Well done. Funny: I was ready to hang up my cape when I8 hit, and was beginning the wind-down. With Issues 9-11, and with the teasers for 12, you've really impressed me as a long-time player with your continued dedication to the game's evolution and longetivity.
You make me want to stay. No higher compliment could be paid to a creative team than that. I'll say it again: Well done. -
Most excellent. Well done, Posi, et al.

BAB,
Confirmation on these please:
Ex Libris looked over my list of Devs and so I thought that Ravenstorm, Mike Apolis, SuperMartin (Martin Simpson), The Dark Watcher, and Vince D'Amelio, came over to NorCal with you, no? (Of course, The Dark Watcher and Ghost Widow have never revealed their RL identities, so, there could be some overlap in this list).
And so, there is now both a Garth and a Graham at NorCal? (Neither appear in the CoV credits, so they both are pretty new-ish).

Good summary, Zombie.
You know what I came away from this with? (Besides dangling prepositional phrases?) It's the fact that, even after being pared down from 60 to 15, I've enjoyed the CONTENT far more since CoV's release than before it. And last year's issue releases were (with some logistic exceptions on the Hami revision) superlative. STF/LRSFs, the RWZ in its entirety, the 2nd Rikti War, Ouroboros (and I was prepared to hate that issue)...
My hat's off to you guys. I dub you the Freemin' Fifteen. Your updated battle cry is "Zounds!" Please take the time to set this up on all of your toons. -
Hm. Put Tamerlane next on your list. I wrote a little treatise on him a few years ago and astounded some peeps on how deep his history was, and how much it's glossed over in modern histories.
