Quote:Thanks Caleb. I recommend shooting him a global tell to see his base. He does some nice work especially with angles and walls.

Great post and good to know. Also if you post a slow field above most anything, they will vanish. Would be fun to play around with.

Back from camping. I will post some more pictures tonight. I actually made a lot of progress before I left. Added another room and underground tunnels.

Quote:Great work as always Jack!

And here are some pictures from inside. Mind you that the room detail is going to be done by the base owner which is why it may look a little empty. Also the lighting and floor/wall skins will be done last. I use the tech floor to help with placements but change it later on.

Quote:Sure, I dont mind.Despite having quite a few Volcano and Lava and Magma based rooms, I've never quite had a Volcano Base, so with my new Supergroup: The Samurai Gunmen, I think I'll make their base into something inside of a Volcano.
I'll put up Photos if Turbo doesn't mind.
Here are up to date pictures of the mountain leading into the control room.
Im off for the weekend camping with a few friends, see you guys soon.

Some new pictures from last night. I began work on the other mountains for the volcano room. One of which will have a glass window looking out connected to a workshop room. The other mountain will have a secret cave entrance leading into a vintage wooden library. Next I am going to work on the second floors of the rooms.
Windowed mountain shell finished. Next, will have to stack around it to create the landscape.
Hidden room leading to library.
Insdie the hidden room surounded by glass windows which will show lava flowing.

I am actually going to knock this room down and creat a space layout once I finish a few projects, but I will keep the pictures on photobucket.

Well the first day is done. I am building the volcano base which would be fully decorated inside with mission computers and high tech objects. The room has a tech floor for now because I am using it as ways to measure my placements. I added a glass walkway inside the volcano in which you will be able to see lava flowing-through. To the left of the room is the control room which I am closing off by means of making the entrance into a mountain or spire. The only way to access that control room would be through the volcano and down the corridor.
My next step is to finish the trestle bridge and to make it go straight through the volcano and begin decorating the inside. Once that is done, then I will start to create the volcano shell with some arcane stacking objects to create dimension rather then the box shape you see here. More to come!
This is the entrance into the room. I went with arcane stairs and arcane large blocks to go around the stairs. The suspension bridge is the wooden arcane units that will go all the way through the volcano itself to the other side where I will duplicate this process.
The main overview minus the arcane trestle bridge. You can see the core that will house the computers and such. I still have to figure out how I am going to have the bridge go through the core.
This is from the side view looking in. You can see the glass windows that will allow you to view the lava which Im using dirt and fire to create the effect. The hole in the center of the core will be for lava as well.
A closer view of the glass pain and walkway. I stacked the arcane bricks to cover the SG logo.
To the left will be the control room which will be completely enclosed with arcane bricks. I added glass windows on the outside as well which will also be enclosed looking into a room that will be closed off with lava.

As would I. I will send you a global when im on the server next.

I love the stair case and the organ over the portal. Your arcane stacking is giving me ideas for my volcano room.

Do you have room for a scrapper. I promise I wont die!

I am excited to partake in this challenge. As I did with the 3 Floored Workroom, I am going to post my natural progression daily. My idea is to create a base inside a volcano with a futuristic lunar feel almost like a James Bond or Austin Powers movie. I picture it being a mixture between a tech and arcane layout. The main hall will create the illusion like you are walking into the volcano itself. The picture below is a MS paint layout for what I have in mind for the Volcano Room. The brown represents inside the volcano which will be decorated with computers and some gadgets. The grey is the walkway which will go around the volcano and the red circle is the lava which I will try to create using slow fields. The control room on the right will be a balcony overlooking the volcano room covered in a glass wall. I never attempted this before but have always wanted to do so. I am sure that things will change as I go, so I will try not to post too many pictures at one! Hope you guys enjoy this!

Quote:Did you lower the level of the bottom floor to the lowest? Maybe that could stop your clipping. I am interested in seeing your L-shaped layout.I put in three floors in my workshop yesterday but decided I didn't like the way it had turned out. There wasn't enough space in my design to fit salvage storage between the floor and ceiling without having them clip into the floor or ceiling of another floor. So instead, I removed the third floor and elevated the second floor just enough to fit storage items underneath it.
Because I won't need any desks for a third floor, the second floor will probably be L-shaped or elongated to provide more space. However, it probably won't go wall-to-wall so I can give the room a nice open feeling.
Still a WIP though - I'll post pictures when I'm happy with it, as time allows. -
Quote:Ah, thanks for that typo. You cant place the Turbine Generator in a 2x2 room. Anything above that you can which would be the 2x4 though I am not sure about the 3x3. If I were you, I would save the plot for a 2x4 room so you can allow yourself to get creative. Thanks for replying. Among the available energy rooms shown on paragonwiki.com (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Energy_Room), I don't see a 1x3 energy room. But, the Turbine Generator is wider than our existing 2x2 Energy Terminal 1? A wider room is required? That is, the 2x4 Energy Terminal 2, 3x3 Energy Station 1, or any of the larger energy rooms?

Will fit in a 1X3 room starting. The Fusion generator fits in a 4X4.

I really feel that we will have an issue dedicated to bases when they decide to bring back the CoP and raiding functions. One thing that concerns me is the concept of anchors and how people can hide them behind objects which obviously creates an unfair advantage. My guess is that anchors will be put away or have no effect when it comes to raiding since people will have to remove them and thus change room layouts.
I dont see this happening anytime soon, so we will have to use what we have. The base building community is significantly smaller then the general population, so there priorities come first unfortunately. -
-Stacker is very good and is know as one of the top base builders/designers. You will be happy im sure!

I am in agreement with you after I have messed around with the colors some more. I may go with a dark blue but add some stand alone lights to brighten up some spots or just keep the room white. Will post shortly the final pictures.
