  1. your abosolutely right, its definatey something we should work on, but it can be exceptionally difficult once the attacks start going in!!!
  2. we had some help, but as a defence unit we are becoming more effective, which is never a bad thing!
  3. wierd indeed, but having kept a close eye on the GM's in the crater the whole raid I can easily say that the ones in my vicinity wern't player aggroed, so don't know the reason.

Needless to say I'm exceptionally pleased that we were ready for and able to deal with them!
  4. just logged out after tonights raid on Union and there was definately a GM counterattack, this time one after the Mito's were eliminated, and a further one after Hami himself took a dive!!!

    please guys, be prepared!
  5. I'll donate the inf as promised Crim!

Also, my thanks to everyone tonight for their awesome work defending the raid, evacuating everyone from the zone during the counterattacks ( plural! ) and the perimeter duties overall!
  6. that would only account for a small amount of the GM's that attacked us, not to mention the counterattack when the Mito's were taken out!
  7. there was definately a GM counterattack this week, no doubt about it in my mind at all!
  8. @archy - we are using your guide, but in the last few weeks our tacics have changed a little bit, but in the mainstay my comment was merely pointing out that I havn't done a raid on Defiant and as such the way youts teams run and so forth is probably a bit different.

@Hammerfall - we noticed the GM thing for 2 raids now, the first time, we noticed several GM's move in, but I will admit that a couple of players went GM hunting, so while we kept them off the people swapping, there was player involvement and we didnt think too much of it until it was mentioned in chat that some of those GM's wern't anywhere near players. The next time we did stay in place on the raid, because we wanted to try and provide the same defence for everyone swapping

During that time, the perimeter teams didnt spot anyone near the GM's, yet the swapping party was attached shortly afterwards.

We dont know why but i dont like putting things down to conincidence if there is a chance its a new change that we dont know about.

I'd rather you guys kept your eyes open and me be wrong that me be right and you guys suffering massive casualties!
  9. If I may, and I know I have no right commenting on Defiants raid strategy as your raid organisation is different to ours on Union.

The Perimeter Guard teams still take part in mito clearing on Union, but we keep an eye out where we can on GM's and are the first to attack any aggro'd targets GM wise during mito clearing.

After which, during the brawl and hold stages of Hami, thats when we stand watch. Please note, stand watch!

If and IF anything does attack, we alert the raid and intercept them as quickly as possible, so that the controller groups ISNT endangered.

As long as your GM team is defensive, not agressive and is happy to be bored some raids ( i'd be happy to stand there bored every night of the week to watch the backs of my friends, but were not that lucky ) then great, a GM team might help you guys.

One thing I would ask, even if you dont run a GM team.

Please please please keep an eye out for a GM counterattack after the Bud drop on the raid, if nothing else, consider evacuating as many hero's that want to swap HO's to pocket d or somewhere else to do so.

Captain - if you want im still happy to send you any data we get from our raids GM wise to compare to yours!
  10. I admittedly had to leg it back through my sg base:

    1. ran out of wakies as I dished out a lot of mine.
    2. needed to time the return journey for viability of using sg base as a quick return method.

but when I got back, we did have some sections of the defensive line up, some sections had merged to form a more effective combat stance.

Was difficult to tell which was more effective as each had its merits lol

the main thing is, we saved a lot of casualties that day and we definately need to see about evacuating, or enlisting as many heroes as possible post raid.
  11. guys, I really like this idea, if there is anything I can do to help you guys, please feel free to ask!
  12. considering the number and scale of the opponents, I can do nothing less than applaud the fantastic job everyone did

we do however, need to get some proper plans down, admittedly I did login tonight, but im still trying to correct some technical issues this end.

If everyone can get together say - 8pm tuesday night so we can go over a few things, maybe run some missions?

get the party started so to speak!!!
  13. whoops! well spotted mate, thankyou!

Just a note when clothing my scrapper for this i think you got the helmet type listed wrong? its the tech helmet we need not the blast bot? (or thats as far as i can see from the pics )

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol, sorry, yes I am daft a lot of the time! You are quite correct!

I do personally like the Guard being multi SG, gives me a sort of good feeling that SG's are working together for common defence of their friends

I'm rebuilding my computer case tonight, so I'll be on late this evening, but I'm always ready, anytime I'm online to do missions and so forth to strengther the guard!!!
  15. please do, I know there is a bit of friendly Union / Defiant rivalry ( sporting I'd say lol ) but if there is any info that will help your raids from turning into wipes, or debtfests it would be worth working together!
  16. I'm not sure if its recent, I havn't had a shapeshift power long and it just seems to do it on its own!
  17. Guard members are more than welcome to use the avatar!

I'm definately up for teaming this week to try and get some more tactics and abilities up and running for the next few raids!

I'll be online practicially every night this week - tonight included. I'd recommend all guard members say hi on the PG channel, soon as there are a few of us I will take on any mission, foe or badge hunting that will help

I definately also agree that for organisation and brawl phase planning, we could name the teams like Perimeter 1, Perimeter 2 and so forth so that team 1 brawls with the first round, team 2 with the second and so forth, keeping a constant deployment up around the raid, without having to wonder when its turn to brawl.

As for the Croatoa TP, I did some checking and yes it is closer, thankyou for the update! I just need to run around later and see which has the most convenient contact nearby for selling inspirations, should supplies be needed!

I also had one final idea, but really need to chat about it securely as its a bit wild as emergency plans go and I don't want anyone getting bizarre ideas based off the suggestion!

I have faith in our P-Guard to keep us safe, no matter what happens..

    [/ QUOTE ]

thanks for the kind words Raz, we always have and always will do our best! If there is some kind of large number M counterattack, I still think a retreat order for those going afk after the raid might be an idea, current PG numbers can slow down and hold off multiple GM targets, but there is a time limit on it alas!

Definately running some badges and missions this week, try to strengthen the guard even further for future raids
  19. dont know if this helps you guys, but we have found over on Union that after the bud drop is over, that our raid group is auto swarmed in aggroe'd GM's, without players actually doing any aggro!

can you let us know if this happens at your raid too?
  20. Perimeter Guard Updates!

having looked over tonights raid ( during the time I was there ) and speaking to a few other peeps there are a few suggestions we could try that I'd like to hear some feedback on

    GM attacks after Bud Drop
I have seen no information to suggest player aggro against GM's tonight or last week that would cause 7 of them to attack at once. As such, I think we need to create an exit strategy for the raid where possible ( really need your input here Lost ) so that the Perimiter Guard are the last ones out of the zone, letting everyone swap their Hami-O's in relative safety in Pocket D or something.

We definately need to hold position after the bud drop though, that much was proven tonight in any case.

    Perimeter Guard Events
I don't know how many of the guard use this, but I'm keen to get our defensive and agressive abilities up as a team and as such, I'd like to run badge nights, possibly tied into the Union badgehunter group, where we can achieve the badges needed for several of the accolades to enhance our HP, END and achieve the Archmage power as well for everyone.

    AV missions
I would encourage anyone in the guard, as an event or not, to participate in AV Missions where level 53 SO's are on offer to enhance overall potential!

    Teleport Strategy
I did some testing tonight and found that if you go to Independance Port, then teleport via a supergroup base to Eden, that you can return to the fight via base in under 2 minutes as a last resort, whereas other zones offer a return time of approximately 4 ( difference in time is due to time taken to exit hospital, run across zone to portal etc ) minutes.

If anyone, guard or otherwise has any suggestions as to improve the service we offer during raids, please don't hesiate to reply, or catch me in game for any discussions or events!
  21. i've done some checking with a few peeps and there was definately NO aggro from players against the GM's and we had a total count of 7 inbound after Hami and the buds went down.

We might need a raidwide exit tactic if this is the case, all perimiter teams did an amazing job holding them as long as they did, luckily due to the amount of GM's a lot of people sensibly TP'd while this was going on!
  22. for some reason after the bud drop, there was a mass surge of GM activity, without anyone aggroing them!

looking into it, hence having to call for a fall back to eden for everyone not fighting!
  23. Noooooo!

sorry to hear that PG!!!! Hope you can get it fixed before 7pm!!!
  24. I'm quite proud of the fact that I've spent very little time with my main character in any kind of powerlevvling activities. I've done a large proportion of missions solo or in small groups, finding out what I can and can't take on with him, earning the accolades and exploring as much as I can!

If people do want to powerlevel, fair play to them, its their choice, but I would see a powerlevelled, as mentioned above as a mathematical solution, rather than a labor of love for their character. I dinged 50 a while ago now, and I'm still regularly in game with him, working on more SO's, badges and so forth because I still firmly believe that there are ways to push myself and my character further than they already are!
