the suggestion last night was Baby Oil, but in keeping with the theme of the Tiki Lounge im sure mud or gravy will do just fine
-
That if the lag continues, and cars still end up in the air like in PI a moment ago, people running into doorways and attacks not going off, that we head to Pocket D's Tiki lounge for a brand new event!
Lagfest 2007!
yours truly, and everyone else suffering horrible connection problems can ride the stuttering out in comfortable conditions, with cosy chairs and relaxing surroundings!
Bring your friends, bring your family! And considering the discussion on Union Chat, bring very friendly girls that have no aversion to mud and or wrestling -
I'm rounding up the URPG as you requested Lost, should be like a mini reunion
-
when were you thinking because I'd love a crack a this!
-
well not only is announcing a raid on the Arena chat kinda pointless, but spamming channels unnessecarily is never going to endear you to the masses.
-
btw lost, did you get my PM, spoke to Raz last night and he's quite keen! As for raids, I'm not sure I'd be so ready to die repeatedly considering the reply I've seen here to what I consider, just misread sentences.
Bring back the Hami Muffin Raiders I say! -
[ QUOTE ]
hope of what? That someone else will lead a raid? Here is news for you. I am leading raids.
[/ QUOTE ]
if you read that sentence again with the bit before you uoted, you'll see he's referring to "being in hope of the old style raid coming back" and staying in the channel for just such a day.
Myself included. -

if it is true about the estimated time tho, i would love it to be a regular event again. I know the days of the URPG Team are gone, but its always fun to just get together and have a laugh
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is why I'm looking forward to the RWZ, I10 event and the new TF. Plenty of opportunity for some URPG teaming, I miss the good old days myself, little things like seeing
"always relieving to see the PG watching our backs"
on local chat as we'd run past or just the banter on the Guard Channel ( I'm so gonna set that up again btw ) was as much fun as the raid itself. I miss the old days with Lost, Raz, Streekz, PA drop team etc -
I saw the talk on Union chat so as soon as we quit the States TF ( we got ganked
) I headed to the Hive to try and help, but everyone had already gone
I miss the old friday night Hami Muffins, yes it was a formulaic raid system, but it was more enjoyable than the new die die die die die die, die some more, get used as a corpse baseball bat, die die die system lol. -
an entire day of Rikti whooping with my fellow Guard members, surely thats what days off were made for!
-
apologies for double post, but does anyone here from the first invasion event have details of how the event works?
i.e
can ships be taken down
how do the rikti spawn ( as mobs / in waves )
do the rikti fight other npc's
the more information we have, the better we can get some good fights going for everyone -
I'm working hard still getting my SG base ready, my plan is to have a medbay and inspiration dispensor up and running with TP's to various zones to defend, then have it open for the PG to use to keep in the fight as much as possible!
-

Tsum, what if we resurrected the Perimeter guard group for this one? Anyways, I'll be in Atlas on Dead Sorrow to join you katana scrappers!
[/ QUOTE ]
sounds like a plan to me! if you see any Guard members online, let them know about this!!! -
I'm really psyched about this, I'd be proud to defend Atlas Park alongside you Lost
-
Hero's of Union, long have the Rikti been a shadow overhanging our fair city. With word of a second invasion wave on the way its up to us to stand and fight!
I'd be honoured and proud to stand with the pillars of the Union community, from the open battles with Hamidon all that time ago, one last time in defiance of those that would try to crush our spirit. As more information about when and where these invaders will strike, I invite all hero's to stand side by side, in their respective security level zones giving the Rikti a fight they'll never forget!
( forgive the dramatics, but some open PvE warfare on a citywide scale is exceptionally appealing ) -
Did I say do well? No. Did I say a chance? Yes
I even put it in italics for you guys...
As mentioned above, 4 seconds with every shield in the set, even against a few opponents is pretty rubbish. Even with high damage that my enhancement layout has yielded balanced against recharge time and endurance usage, taking on a single Mastermind was deemed pointless because his shields against melee we're stupidly more powerful that my own, even with said hero scrapper having the magus shield and the MM having just repulsion field.
As a casual gamer, it just feels wrong. -
you're telling me it's terrible! lol
I was gutted! -

You don't have to team in PvP to enjoy PvP or do well in PvP. However, if you want to fight a team all by your lonesome and expect to have a fair chance you are dumb. Especially against a team that's heavy in the support side of things.
[/ QUOTE ]
so you're down to calling people dumb for wanting a chance to at least be able to put up a decent fight when outnumbered. Not be able to beat them, just have a chance.... How very nice of you.
[ QUOTE ]
Also PvE Builds do fine at PvP, they're not as optimal as a PvP build, but you don't need to be a min/max'er to PvP. Thinking that is dumb.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, the PvP build comment was actually trash talk, as mentioned earlier, hence why it was attached to a witty social life comment. However there are a lot of PvP builds out there that really tip the balance. For example, I have no travel powers, every SR armor and most combat powers so that my toon was viable in fights.
Yet in PvP I last 10 seconds in open fights, yeah thats balanced.
[ QUOTE ]
What you did is walk in to a zone, come up against superior numbers that had good teamwork and superior [u]skill[u] at PvP'ing than you and you died. How is that bad? If anything it shows that PvP is balanced, a lone player shouldn't be able to kill a team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless you're a EN stalker, Stone Brute, FF toting mastermind... And again, its the chance to defend myself rather than being able to beat all of you at once. This frustration has really come over many months, with RV really just being breaking point.
It's not a personal thing parse, I'm just getting sick and tired of spending time in PvP, learning tactics that work well from observing other people fighting, applying them to my build, working hard, then finding that none of that matters because every single shield I've got can't prevent being held straight away. That my damage scratches other people for about 5% while sets with lower damage can take whacking great chunks out and that some sets get toggledrop powers that are effective, whilst melee types have to make do with brawl.
Which as usual you cant do because most PvP's I've been in have involved flight. Once again I'd have to respec in air superiority which makes it a PvP build etc etc... -
ok, much to the suprise of most people who think I only ever PvP'd last night. As a stalker you have a lot going for you in PvP.
Don't forget that the Hide power is NOT your most powerful power in your set, Placate is as it immediately offers you a chance to attack. Used correctly, and at the right time, Placate has given me a lot of notches on my Stalkers belt in terms of defeated Hero's.
The problem with any given PvP situation is that people want unfair advantages and will always look to work on builds that counter the advantages of others. It would be unfair to always be totally invisible don't forget but even without that, with a little forethought, that needn't stop you.
Another friend of the stalker is closed terrain. Hunt hero's indoors where fly isn't a viable escape route for them to run away like most people seem to. Stalkers are about short, quick finishes on targets, again, use your camera rotation keys to look round corners before you turn them yourself, so that if you are hidden, you can start your assassin strike at the moment the target passes the corner.
Normally this results in a successful AS without having to use placate to achieve the first hit.
Give it a go and see what you think. -
by the very nature of being a defender, perhaps having enough defense? Perhaps? to survive long enough to at least have the chance to take out one of his foes.
-
Given that powers ( take brawl for example, bet you never dropped a PvE chars toggles with that one ) are dual purpose, I don't see it as something impossible.
Just because somethings difficult ( like trying to have an opinion on here for example ) it doesnt mean you shouldnt try.
By your own admission, there are certain AT's ( such as the energy stalker you just mentioned ) which outshine the rest in PvP. Why should the character you have made over however long you've had an account be technicially rubbish, in a system thats supposidly open to all players to enjoy, simply because when the AT's were changed for PvP, your AT / combo didnt get as much loving as the rest. -
yeah, I wasn't a happy bunny the following morning...
I thrifted for about 10 months running on enhancements that dropped in mish's, never bought any etc, then sunk the whole lot into prestige in one night because I wanted a teleporter lol -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not trying to pick on you personally but this is a false idea of PVP. Devs have repeatedly since Issue 4 (um what, 1,5 years ago?) said that PVP in this game is balanced for TEAM pvp.
[/ QUOTE ]
but didn't States also mention that players shouldn't be forced to team up to enjoy features such as PvP and other recent additions. Imagine how many people would be up in arms if Inventions only dropped when teamed...
[ QUOTE ]
Originally I also wanted more balance in 1v1 combat. I got over it by banging my head to the wall long enough.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well at least one person understands the frustration, I think I'll just avoid PvP in future where possible rather than have to suffer gimping my PvE style with a PvP respec, or having to roll a new Char altogether.
