running another raid at 9, earlier one didnt go so well as before, unfortunately some people dropped as soon as the GM went down leaving the rest of us fighting what was already aggro'd. but mission accomplished, gm down!
-
cheers for the support
I'll be ready for some more raiding hopefully around 9 ish tonight, so I look forward to seeing everyone there! -
Glad everyone had fun and some good rewards, which is always my main objective!
Overall the plan works well, just need to find a way to overcome the casualties we suffer from bombs!
I think tonight, if everyone can, raid costumes would help, as well as spending some vanguard merits on the psionic shield for the magus wave's in the bowl.
I'll see if I can get a few laps round the zone going, just hope everyone is ok with me bossing everyone around to stay together on the ship all the time -
ok, tonight didnt go so well, having stood in RWZ2 for about 30 minutes before realising there was only me and one other person there...
DOH!
anyways, If everyone can put up with me again, I'm going to try the above tactic again friday night - 8pm at point du hoc!!
MUFFINS! -
Update: Having seen the various tactics for the raid, we just tried a new one tonight on RWZ 1. Ran it twice just to see if it was fluke, both times it seemed to work well.
We made a sweep round the zone as normal, ending in taking down Pylon 1 below the ship. Directly above pylon ! is the wall which the grates are located.
The plan, was to group up at the southernmost part of this wall and move inwards, destroying grates and planting bombs as nessecary to damage the ship. As a grate was destroyed, we moved inwards to what I lovingly refer to as "the toilet bowl" of the ship.
We attack and defeat enemies as one large force, with a healing blanket on us as all times, which becomes the defensive "turtle" in which we all move together. It's a bit of a lagfest, but the raid costumes really help cutting it down.
Once we have moved into and occupied the centre, we can defeat rikti in their attack waves, giving priority to taking out the Rikti Magus first, so that major casualties can be avoided.
We stay in the "toilet bowl" once we have occupied it, defeating all targets so long as the shields are down. To extend the raid an experienced team can break off to plant more bombs, so long as it doesnt comprimise the turtle and that the team realises the turtle cannot leave the toilet bowl to support them.
We took a few casualties when a whole wave of Magi turned up, but using the "turtle" we quickly regrouped, retook the centre and successfully completed the raid.
My thanks to everyone who participated and put up with me this evening, I hope to lead more raids in future using this plan to continued success! -
the TF was a success and ran really smoothly! a huge thankyou to everyone that participated!
and sorry for the maniacal rikti killing sprees lol -
as i said in the other thread, working weekends sucks because i can only raid in the evenings, but I might throw one together for saturday / sunday!
-
I hate working weekends... I can do saturday night from about 7pm-11pm but i work both days of the weekend
-
I'd gladly run it later in the day, I just dont get much time in the evenings to do Taskforces as most people seem to start at 9pm, which isnt ideal for those of us that work early the next morning!
Is there a more reasonable time we can get this rolling? -
I'm really up for giving this a try tomorrow daytime. If anyone is interested in running through this, please give me a shout! Would prefer to start around lunchtime ish if possible, but flexible on times tomorrow
-
Totally with you on the above 100% Raz. I'm going to run some more Rikti Muffins this week, I'll get some details up tomorrow or wednesday as to where and when
-
precisely, ex PG members and any new recruits are on active search and destroy for the little swings
-
With there being more regular servings of Rikti Muffins in the warzones, a few people asked about the old Hami Costume colors, but with the introduction of villians into this, perhaps a shake up is needed!
This is experimental, if there are better suggestions for colors, please let me know!!!
Scrappers: Yellow
Perimeter Guard Scrappers: Yellow with black "sharp" details
Blasters: Red
Defenders: Blue
Empathy Defenders: Green
Controllers: Purple
Tanks: Black
Peacebringers: White with a blue stripe detail ( mark of respect )
Warshades: Black/Purple blend.
Stalkers: Yellow with red stripe
Brutes: Grey
Dominators: Orange
Corrupters: Red with orange stripe
Masterminds Dark Blue
each costume used tights, no detail pieces and the full helmets. no wings, no auras etc of course
might relieve some of the lag people are getting! -
Tsumiju Zero
Having redesigned his armor, for increased mobility and protection in recent months, Tsuimju used his influence to have Portal Corp take a look at the Portal Coil system used to store the Zero Saber, allowing the gloves of the armor to be streamlined.
In the opening days of the invasion, Tsumiju was on scene in Founders Falls organising the hero's that happened to be on the scene into small battlegroups before moving onto the assault on Atlas Park to support the numbers of Hero's gathering there. His other noted activity has been hit and run tactics alongside other hero's on the Rikti Mothership, using his skills as a Black Inkman to plant bombs and sabotage the Rikti's efforts. -
I'm glad everyone had fun, excellent targeting Coldest, the route we used gives us a straight charge from the bottom right straight to the ship, seems to work well!
Just need to find a way to make getting those bombs down easier and more effective ways of dealing with those damn magus -
apologies for double post, but just a HUGE thankyou to everyone who turned up tonight, some very familiar names from the Hami Raids and some new names to definately remember
After 3 raids, most people wanted a break, so we left it at that, but on each and every occasion we came through where needed, got the bombs down and beat Ukon
Enjoy your merits everyone, you certainly earned them!
I'll try and organise this again for tomorrow, and my thanks again to a certain wondering kensei who provided the inspiration for tonights rikti muffin hilarity -
have no idea which instance we can use, I doubt we could force large amounts of people into one instance, we'll just have to wing it lol
-
The Hami suits are probably going to help a lot I think, with the detail in the new Rikti armor, as well as our own is really going to give people grief.
As for organisation, we have to get a tactic down that we can rely on like the hami raids -
well, I did some pylon work last night and there are definately some amendments we can do.
One. Raids aren't too long, and as Power Doll rightly put, they happen regular enough, but having more raids wont hurt, especially if organised teams support the PuG's already going it at. Which means we can do some weekend Rikti Muffins for anyone like Raz that has weekday commitments!
Two. Planting bombs is a complete nightmare, teams really have to work on this one, most people run off solo and get slaughtered. If your team is planting a bomb, please defend the bomber, everyone gets credited towards the badge, so make sure your chosen dynamite packing nutter is ok
Three. Rikti Magi are hardcore! A raid got wiped out last night on RWZ2 because entire groups were being detoggled, making it really easy for the GM to take out large groups. We need a group to tank and handle the GM, whilst everyone else focus's on thinning the numbers of supporting Rikti, and spamming heals for the rest of us -
With I10 now live and everyone enjoying the carnage and destruction of the invasion, its time we gave the Rikti a good kicking.
So in the spirit of the Friday night Hami Muffins, would everyone from the old raids be interested in some slightly green, partially stinky Rikti Muffins?
If there is a resounding yes, then bring your best backside kicking hero's or villains to the RWZ this friday night.
RV point: The semi destroyed outpost at the southern end of the sunken road marker 20:00 hours.
Battle Plan:Players will divide into teams of 8, which will form 2 main assault groups. Groups will then engage from the south and perform a sweep around each side of the mothership, destroying the pylons.
After which, all raiders will make their way to the centre of the ship, inflicting as much damage as possible on rikti numbers before holding back the assault waves from the centre.
Our goal then is to attach bombs to the inside of the vents on the ship, which I found on test to be best handled by scrappers and stalkers with super reflexes / ninjitsu.
once this is achieved, and much AoE damage has been spammed to achieve large numbers of merits, we gank the GM and be home in time for dinner
Please note: the plan isn't foolproof, There is certainly a small group of guys who know the system much much better than me ( lost and Raz, where are you guys!? ) but here's hoping we can get some regular raids going!
The raid counts towards several badges, notably exploration, defeating the gm 10 times and for planting bombs, as well as large amounts of vanguard credits that can be used for cossie pieces and additional salvage storage.
Hope to see lots of you there! -
we've been using Union Chat a fair bit this weekend red lol
-
I had a look at your build, carefully replanned mine, worked out the stats in hero designer...
Then realised monkey boy here only had the parts of the "luck of the gambler" sets slotted that affect recharge / endurance etc and very little defence boost....
kinda answered my own question, the answer is im very very stupid sometimes -
I have just done a full respec on my main, noting down the enhancements and slotting of my powers and adjusting to make the build more effective.
Main is a Katana / Super Reflex Scrapper.
Changes:
previously had stamina 6 slotted, reduced to 4.
standardised defence slotting: passive powers are 3 slotted with def IO's, toggles had 3 defence and 2 endurance IO's.
Most attack powers are 5 slotted, main attacks ( soaring dragon and golden dragonfly ) 6 slotted.
Now i've bunged a few defence set IO's in one of the powers and it definately seems my weakpoint compared to before the respec. I'm going to adjust which parts of the IO set I use in the power, but is there a downside to IO slotting that I'm not aware of?
has anyone run a comparison between a fully slotted IO toon and one using invention sets?
