i should be there this friday, although perhaps a tad late, but ill be there
-
I think last night went very very well, big thanks to everyone who turned up to make it such a success and I'm looking forward to seeing a regular raiding trend
-
lol - will gank for merits!
very villainous and look forward to seeing you all there! -
or starfox could just type it up for me.... lol cheers
-
I normally go anti Quant / Void / Cyst when teaming, as the AoE defence toggle on my scrapper is extremely handy at avoiding the explosion when the Cyst explodes. Doesn't work every time, granted, but AoE defence of SR seems to work nicely!

Vanguard and myself welcome all villains to assist in regular operations against the Rikti Mothership!
Check it out here! -
You asked for it, we answered!!!
A few of us got the ball rolling tonight for regular Mothership raiding with an open invitation raid for all Unionites!
Regular operations against the Rikti will take place every wednesday and friday night at 2100 GMT. If you would like to take part and have a suitable, level 35+ character ( although you will need a mentor unless you are 48+ ) then please come and join in!
If you are interested in joining, or helping to organise this event, please feel free to join the Mothership Raid Chat channel to see new on upcoming or ongoing raids!
A few things to remember...
Villain's and Hero's cant trade inspirations, so try to keep villain's with villain's and hero's with hero's if you intend to give inspirations to each other!
Any defeated characters should use the hospital function, not the base function to revive, unless they have a sidekick still fighting in range. The only other exception are raid organisers, who are probably watching the ongoing battle and directing teams as nessecary.
Please refrain from spamming chat channels if possible, as it makes it harder for everyone to get information on whats going on during the raid.
Raid costumes, while not mandatory, are really appreciated - contact me for details if you need more information on these. -

I didn't really care about the enh at the end. To me, it was all about the team work and laughs

spot on there mate! -
except those enhancements are pretty powerful when you get a few of them, and being part of the "army" was some of the appeal as well as old Hami and the Mothership raids have been the only times I've seen mass PvE battles.
-
when they make it something that players can play and ENJOY rather than having a several week planathon, respec discussion and then several days shouting at each other on broadcast...
I.e put him back the way he was, at least it was fun then! -
to put in my two cents I dont see how people can brag at one on one PvP when the system is designed to be balanced for teamplay and PvP respeccing out my main would gimp its PvE effectiveness.
-
Just wanted to say that despite some awful Super reflex moments ( maybe I wont dodge the big sword wielding alien this time ) that the TF last night was fun, fast and well worth the restart to get Amy back on the team!
Question though, anyone want a Glance of the Abyss recipe, its like the 15th one of those I've had from that TF and I'm bored of them all sitting in my auction window for 10 inf -
I think this is a great idea!!! I do like the x16 suggestion, because having played a stalker for quite some time ( I say played, more aptly, solo'd as teams rarely pickup stalkers I've found firsthand ) the damage output of assassins strike against anything above a Boss is rather pathetic. Essentially we get assassin strike to annoy the hell out of the target, 2 minutes of godmode power and if we aint done, we placate and then said target regens!
Even in teams, the assassin strike and damage output of a stalker doesnt seem to compare to the other AT's, despite the design implying that stalkers are the villain damage dealers. If stalkers are supposed to be good at picking off targets, something does need to be done to improve their chances of doing so without crippling PvP and I think the document outline above would do just that!
ok, conceeded, maybe doing 10% is a tad too much, but even hitting for a figure around here would even the playing field as at the moment, all stalkers can do against these guys is die from AoE, get one shotted or annoy the team by not being able to contribute as much to a larger fight. -

Without Aid Self, which Flitz does not have, /SR scrappers still only have two states - godlike and faceplant. It's either 'cant touch this' or 'ouch, rez plz'. Keeps life interesting. And rularuu are still a pain, carnies less so.

I like the edgy feel of SR, I run Zero most of the time hardly using elude at all! Most of the time he can get through invincible missions no problem ( with some clever knockdown management he's pretty nifty even in bigger mobs ) but there are always down days when mob accuracy tends to go against me, but thats part of the appeal I think.
Rularuu are problamatic, conceeded, but given the horrible, horrible shard design ( in my opinion ) I never tend to go there anyway! -
There is actually a "mothership raid channel" that you can search for that has news and chat regarding raids, there is a schedule for every sunday on there at the moment, would think ongoing with I11 there will be raids so people can earn the vanguard merits needed for the vanguard weapons
-
I've found them far less damaging than a corrupter / blaster snipe! I can see the range to snipe / placate one target being handy though.
-
aah the pre "insane changes" hami raid, we miss them so!
-
well I had the foresight to try the powers on test, so they havnt been applied yet! but they do seem a tad naff
-
Decided on Mu Mastery as a patron pool and I'm finding the description, or use of the word "Extreme" damage a little misused on the "Zapp" power.
Against a +1 minion, 79 damage, which is doubled if Hidden. Doesnt seem very extreme as my unslotted attacks with moderate damage seem to have more effect!
Have only tried it on test, just wondering if anyone has tried Zapp, slotted it etc... -
my scrapper is in no way "godlike" but I do enjoy it when during the RWZ TF the team are tackling one generator, while Zero is piling into another, and both sets of ambushes and winning!

"Absolute zero describes a theoretical system that neither emits nor absorbs energy. The Absolute zero temperature is known to be 0 K (273.15 °C). It is the point at which particles have a minimum energy, determined by quantum mechanical effects, which is called the zero-point energy."
Suppose the cats out of the bag now!
Going for "Tsumiju Absolute-Zero"
Mobius's edge.
It was a question of choice, of determination, of honor. Staggering to his feet, he immediately knew he was not where he was meant to be.
Instead of the reclamator and the associated headache, his eyes were looking across a courtyard. Instead of the infra-red glow of objects that he was accustomed to, he squinted in the light as his eyes adjusted to his new surroundings.
His eyes! Touching his face and pulling at his glove it was clear that something major had just happened. As the glove hit the floor, sheer elation and confusion flashed through his facial features as he realised not only were his eyes returned, but the Black Ink no longer rippled under his skin!
How the!?
His question was soon answered, but more questions posed as he saw himself walking across the courtyard, Black Ink and silver hair intact.
From his work with Portal Corp, there had been some freaky experiences but this took the prize! reaching down to his belt he pulled at the handle of the Zero Saber. As normal the blade slid cleanly from the Portal Coil, yet he had changed! How could he be wearing the same clothes and carrying the same equipment from a short while ago, yet the changes his body had undergone some years ago where undone!?
What was even worse was the sense that this was all familiar.
Walking towards himself, he was even more confused. Even moreso as the other "Tsumiju" seemed to be getting fainter and fainter the closer he got. As he reached out, the shadow of himself faded altogether. It was only then that he noticed the cloaked figure behind the shadow...
The dim view of infra red returned to him once more as he turned to walk away. The cloaked figure saying little as he began his journey home. There he was, himself again. The occular implants clearly identifying the Zero Saber and other storage coils on the man walking towards him. He felt somewhat dissapointed that as he stepped forward, that he never got to see himself returned to normal with human eyes.
He was keen to get back, what he had been told had grave consequences and he understood that he would not be the only visitor from Paragon City to this place.
"You will be granted the two edges of times infinite mobius strip, they are called Future's beginning and Past's end. They are a difficult balance between each side of the strip and must be kept in check. It was only at the point where you balanced your powers, your responsibility and your own life that we knew you could control them. Take them, and maintain the balance between the edges, you will need them."
As he walked forward, itching the "8" symbols on his gauntlets, he saw his surroundings fade into static and darkness before opening his eyes once more unto Paragon City.
Climbing out of the dumpster, Tsuimju could only curse to himself that of all the places he could have ended up, this was the best they could come up with. However he was soon suprised as he touched the new symbols on his gauntlets.
The blades seamlessly phased into his hands, as if pulled from the air, he could see space distort as they drew into his fighting stance.
In the distance, were the sound of sirens and a familiar street. At the end of the street, were the same cries and the same glowing eyes as before. Striding forward to Lt. Macready, he knew he was in for a really bad week... -
I don't consider myself much of a writer, so I'm really pleased to hear that you liked it
As for the guess, a certain Katana wielding scrapper is having an upgrade and I'd even managed to drop a potential name hint in there too!I'm considering writing much more of the characters backstory as well, as I really enjoyed writing the short section in the opening post
Cheers again for the thumbs up! -
If anyone can guess from the specific hint made in this fan-fic what I'm planning I'll be quite impressed!
-
Just a little something to drop some hints at what I've got planned for Issue 11...
It would have been a cliche to say it was a matter of time, no. That would be the wrong term, this wasn't timing, this was choice. This wouldnt be the first time that he was alone in the darkness.
Remembering the feel of brick and mortar against the palm of his hand, the searing pain forcing its way under his skin and the tase in his mouth of his own blood. Still coming to terms with what just happened, stumbling around in the loud blackness as his ears tried to compensate for his loss.
The ink they used smelled foul and it wasnt until the last minute that he had been told of "how" they would be applied! Panic, terror, rage and torrents of anger were stirred at the moment they took his sight. This feeling would be remembered for sure and sure it was.
Again in the darkness, again the taste of blood on his lips. Only this time, he was ready. This was a moment of perfection, of absolute dedication to the art of the body and sword. With this strike, there was no heated anger, no cold vengence, just the perfect balance of steel and flesh. Sensing the incoming energy blast he whirled round as he struck out with his own blade, piercing the energy shield and armor of the Rikti Warmaster, whilst also forcing himself into the air. Dropping his grip on the sword, curling his arms, palms pressed together as many times before, gathering his own Ki for the follow up attack.
He never heard the sword hit the ground.
The resulting explosion was felt in the neighbouring city zones and the smoke from under the Crash Site was immense. Vanguard reacted as expected, the firebases, troops and bases all went to maximum alert, hero's and enlisted villains piled into the zone expecting the worst but they were met by silence.
The city's teleport network registered the casualty, but the body never materialised in the hospital reclamator.
The report on the incident is still underway.
