I was unable to connect around 8:30, was sorted by 9pm, now I can't connect again, so I think the issue is a mixture of client, ISP and infrastructure issues.

All you can do is make sure its not your pc thats blocking you, to minimise the chances of a connect failure

having been aware that you have to select the mission with the "task" button, I did exactly the same thing last night, tried to use Mission TP to get to the Memorial, however my TP was interrupted, quite how it was interrupted considering I was stood in the Midnighter Club I don't know...

But it considered the power had been used, which left me running to the Memorial instead

What will happen for me, is that I'll probably try it in honesty, but the several years investment I've made into CoH will be pretty hard for me to dump in favor of a new game where once again I won't know anyone.

So I'd be VERY hard pushed to actually leave CoH ( I tried once and was back within months ) altogether!

I think it would be great to have an event ( would have to run several over a weekend at least ) for this, perhaps a badge for attending the opening ceremony?

Perhaps use an instance of the Atlas Park fashion parade from the Ouroboros arc or something and re-populate it with an event ceremony setup?

Owners of the above badge could also get an accolade giving +dam for 30 seconds or something along the lines of an enrage power?

wasnt the /sync command released to resolve the "ghost town" glitch in the first place? General lag yes, is annoying, but having dealt with technical issues myself in the past, it's very difficult to find the root of these issues.

Yes all the traffic goes through the zone servers, but additionally there have to be common nodes between the ISP and the clients that could be causing issues. My advice is that if the game is unplayable, contact support and make use of the various network connect tools availiable to make sure your computer isn't the source of the issues

It would appear that somehow my regular veteran date in the month ( around the 26th of the various months ) has been moved to the 10th, which is why its not showing yet and shouldn't in theory, until tomorrow! I can only assume the Valkryie pack, or the Maestro awarded free time has affected my billing date thus!

It seems veteran reward tracking through the PlayNC site is down, I am due for a reward on the 25th Febuary, but the system shows no rewards due after 25th November - known problem and fix on the way?

Using the Nemesis staff, then using a VEAT attack power was causing it on my Arachnos Soldier. Worked around it by using Sands of MU veteran reward power, then attacking causing correct weapon re-draw.

so hang on, clamping down on forum moderators raises awareness how? I'm sure actually RAISING AWARENESS through more powerful means is surely more powerful and a better way to protect minors?

I'm actually suggesting that targetting forum mods is essentially something that wouldn't be nessecary if the rescources were put to better use, hence

if you can't agree with that then I really don't know what to suggest apart from a nice sedative and a sit down, followed by actually reading my posts and not merely reacting to the first three words of my post and disregarding the rest because somehow you think you know better?

Ignore me if you like, I myself AM a forum mod for several sites and I advise parents on security for their computers to help them protect their children as part of my job, if you're ignoring me, then you're ignoring YOUR responsibility as a parent to help protect your children and thats what I find the saddest.

I think the rescources could be put to much better use than by making sure FORUM MODERATORS are registered, yes stopping grooming of children on the internet is important, but perhaps the government should be putting more money into...

A. More police on the streets so that if someone is tempted to meet someone online, they don't have to run around for 40 minutes trying to find a police officer.

B. Checking more into people that have PHYSICAL contact with children.

kicking off legislation regarding forum moderators is just daft, as forum users have to CHOOSE to sign up to the forum first, surely its better to inform children about the dangers of meeting people they don't actually know without supervision, rather than just jump on the...

"Oh wont someone think of the children" bandwagon that seems to be crusing around. Parents also need to take more responsibility for their childrens internet use and actually part with money to have their computers setup properly to filter their childrens internet usage, rather than bodging it, or not being bothered, then blaming others for their lack of action to protect their children.

Or perhaps we should just point the finger at forum mods rather than live up to our own responsibilties.

True enough! Methinks all it will accomplish is driving forums that don't want to sign up to the fun police mandate, to move their hosting out of country, causing a loss of earning to those in the webhosting sector with servers IN the UK.
