  1. VERY nice picture. I really like the style and even the colour scheme. Spending more time on drawings is never a bad thing in comics, no mather how much it slows things down imo.

But erhm ... "in the space between HEATbeats"? That's either some sort of english expression I'm not familiar with or there should be an R in there.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Next up, The Mad Hatter, with a contemporary spin on his abilities. I'm certainly no John Tenniel, so I've deliberately avoided making him look like past versions (for fear of very bad comparisons being made...)

    The Mad Hatter, Happy Christmas!

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is imo the best one you've done so far. Really amazing.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
it's the same thing all over again, america first, and europe can clean up there mess again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

IT'S ALL GONE TO TEH AMERICANS!!!!!

I'd replace all the Aegis with Titanium Coatings, which gives a nice 1.5% life for 3 enh. I prefer that over the Fire/cold defense from Aegis which has very situational use imo.

Actually I tend not to use people on Sals as a measure for anything. There're still people on there who insist that EVERYONE on the team should change their reputation to heroic/villainous (or whatever rep they is desired) before they start a TF.
Just to say that there's a lot of misinformation going around.

[/ QUOTE ]That's mostly for the odd case where the leader disconnects and it promotes someone with Relentless/Invincible as the new leader, from my experience.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, this case was actually because most people on the team (5 out of 8, including the leader) thought it would set on relentless if most of us kept our rep at relentless ...

And even if it is to counter disconnects, it's still not worth making a big fuss over as I've seen some people do, as your rep won't change mid mission and you can change it between missions.

  7. Ending up on another server than my mates would make me unhappy. Losing my names would make me unhappy. Losing my SG would make me even more unhappy. But none of those things would make me quit the game.
Making me start from scratch on a new account would, however. If I have to spend time starting all over again, it'll be on another game.

Edit: Hmm, I'm slow. In the time that it took for me to type this post, about 10 others did it faster
  8. As Diggis said, they changed it in I13
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Oh don't worry, once we get the much-anticipated Side Switching everyone can just play their Masterminds, Brutes, Doms, Corrs and Stalkers heroside anyway. Heck, VEATs can come too. Can just shut CoV down then.

(Gosh, what an unusually pessimistic post from me... But I'm moody for other reasons, so nyah.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

And exactly this is why I think that the changing sides thing is dumb idea, which I hope will never happen. It'll completely defeat the point of having different AT's for different sides.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I know one thing for sure. It will be hard to get a good IO'ed villain build. Good thing I don't do leet builds and SO's are cheap.

Lets hope we can sell those useless merits in i14. Then at least they will be worth something for me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can do that now, sort of, just do a trial random roll.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
So how often do people start trials and TF's and have people drop out - as some of them look like they take a lot of commitment to finish.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It happens more often than I'd like I once started a Lady Grey TF (with 8 people needed to start) and finished it with 4. 2 people "dced" and 2 used ouroborous, we were on a mixed team, so they got autokicked from the TF. It was one of the most fun TF's I ever did to be honest.

On the bright side, if this is true we are a step nearer a server merge with any luck.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I still think a server merge is unlikely. However, a server TRANSFER; that's likely after all this. They really cannot run 4 EU servers with just a couple of people left in the office. People who, lets be honest here, are likely only going to have short term jobs as they wind the office down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its all good, if we get hosted in the US we will have less lag.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You will maybe, but I wont and I'm willing to bet that a lot other European players won't either. Or it would be the first game in over 10 years of gaming that would give me a better connection to the US than to mainland Europe.

Anyway, it's always sad to see people losing their jobs. Where I work they just axed 150 of the 500 jobs (not mine fortunatly) and we're closing down for a period of 2 months.

    Elitism

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

I'm not really meaning to rant, I just genuinely want new people to feel welcome and not have to worry about advanced game systems simply because someone with attitude thinks they should be using them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thing is. CoX is THE most new player friendly MMO on the market, without exception. Try being a newbie in EVE or WoW and see what kind of experience you get.

Personally, I think you're seriously overstating this perceived "problem" of elitism.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Bit late in the topic, and I haven't read the whole thing yet, but this^ really.

You find morons everywhere, but as a 'veteran' of many games I can honestly say that this is the friendliest gaming comunity as a whole that I have encountered so far.
Even these forums, Doom threads and anti-doom threads (wich are just as bad imo) aside, is one of the better ones.

    [ QUOTE ]
My friend is constantly worrying about this sort of stuff, what power to use, how to slot etc. not because she wants to be, but because she's worried what people will say if she doesn't. I'd like to see new players able to relax and just go with the flow at least to begin with rather than worrying about pleasing everyone else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some people should just grow a thicker skin. This is an online game, a place where you are completely anonymous. Why on earth would you worry about what some 'elite' person thinks of you? Does your friend try to please everyone she meets IRL all the time too? Must be really tiring.
  14. That robot thing is really amazing. Really impressive how it catches itself when they make it lose its balance.
  15. The way it is now it would be pants as a blaster primary though. The damage output is just not up to scratch.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
think we need to sort all the crap out in our own country first...
    * donates to http://www.nspcc.org.uk/donate/janua..._wda63307.html instead *

the pics on that page at least don't look terribly impressive anyhow

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, with CoH being an INTERNATIONAL game it kinda makes sense that they would donate to an INTERNATIONAL charity. Strange how a lot of Brits seem to forget that bit.
  17. A dark/dark controller seems very unlickely to me because of the amount of controll powers already present in Dark Miasma.
It seems more logical to me that if they make a dark control set (and I really hope they do!) that they would take all the control powers from the dark blast and dark miasma set (maybe adjusting the numbes a bit to controller levels) and then fill in the blanks. Something like this:

    1. single target immob (with the dark tentacles animation)
    2. petrifying gaze
    3. tenebrous tentacles
    4. torrent
    5. tar patch
    6. dark pit
    7. fearsome stare
    8. cloak of fear
    9. dark servant (with the same duration as other controller pets)

A bit more OT: concerning the dark blast set for blasters; take out dark pit and add dark obliteration in its stead and replace life drain with an aim power of sorts
  18. It's in Port Oakes in the big Arachnos building near the Marconeville dot on your map.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
As others have said, you just have to decide which method you enjoy most. If the answer is "none of them" then just forget the purples. They're not that important.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    This really.
Although I have plenty time and apportunity to farm I hardly ever do it because it's just not fun in any shape or form. I also don't bother with purple sets because to me they just aren't worth the price you pay for them. For the 300+ million you pay for a purple damage set you can practicly kit out your whole character with "cheap" sets and have no noticable difference in performance.
  20. I have the same problem too, can't say when it started exactly since it had been a while since I last played my bane before Dxp.
  21. TrueMetal

    I miss......

I miss some people from when I started playing and ofcourse some of the inexperience and naivity that comes with starting on a new game.
The game itself is better than it ever has been in my 2,5 years of game time though.
  22. Got my level pacted fire/paindom from 28-42 on saturday and my bane from 40-43 on friday.
  23. There's a good one for 'Pleasure Slave' but posting that one might get you banned.
  24. Heh, Cans sounds more like a girl than the girl in GG's song
  25. Aww, someone needs some love.
