I disagree with this. It's all in the intent. If you mean bad, but for some reason do well, you're just incompetent. It doesn't make you good.

Start Time: 1PM GMT (14:00 Central European Time)
    Expected Duration: 2 hours
    Expected Finish Time: 3PM GMT (16:00 CET)X

1:07pm GMT and no server shutdown.
On the plus side our updater finally got updated with a new message, the downside to this is that once again it is incorrect.
You know, posts like these is what makes us look like irrational, whining children ... Seriously, you're not helping.

This however is a major hindrance. Add to that that there's only 1 (2 if I really wanted) other server I can play on and that it's even less populated than my home server.

    No boxes for Europe.
    Yes, I'm annoyed too.

You can get the same deal as all the evil, cheating noobs out to screw you over. Just don't pre-purchase now, but get the complete collection in July. I know I'll be doing that.
  7. Then don't pre-purchase it. I'm not. (though for a different reason) It's as simple as that.

I really don't see why this is such a big deal that it has to be beaten to death in every single thread about GR and several seperate ones that are started just to moan about this specific topic.

It's not like pre-orders/pre-purchases from other games have that much information available on them. Mostly you know that you'll get the game and a detailed description of the preorder shinies. In other words the same as we know here.

Yes "the base of one, and bits and pieces of another" are in the screenshots, he said. And if you look at those screenshots you can see that the female DP character (in purple) has new costume pieces that aren't in the game yet (the ones from the male are all already in game) and maybe the female behind the resistance guy with the glowing armor in the 8th screenshot is a pc as well.

All the others are NPC's, and nowhere did any redname confirm that we would be getting NPC costume pieces. On the contrary, when they first posted a screenshot of one of the resistance guys in the "glowy lines armor" speculations went into overdrive and players got the idea stuck into their head that we were getting those armor parts as pc costumes. When it was later said that we WOULD NOT be getting those resistance costume pieces all hell broke loose and people were pissed. Why? Because they made assumptions based on partial information. Just like you are doing now.

Hey, I'm more than happy to be wrong though.

Recruitment always has to be ongoing in any group, because people will naturally leave, move, change interests, change circumstances, or otherwise cease to be a part of any group. A lot of UK and EU players still have a very bitter taste in their mouth about the decision at HQ that we just aren't worth bothering about.

Frankly the AE system wasn't that big a deal. Not compared to the feeling of retreat and abandonment from the top, and treating the whole of Europe as a very second-class minority. Then with CO and STO and other games making a bit more effort and seeming to be new and shiney ... well, again, people make choices. The EU player seems to pay considerably more for most things when you take the exchange rates into account. We sure don't feel we get more for it.
    Well put.

The constant whining about and blaming all the problems of modern times on the AE is getting on my nerves. "people got to 50 in a day so I left!" What kind of argument is that?

    Delete your old CohUpdater.EU.exe.
You should have a file called CohUpdater.new, change it to CohUpdater.EU.exe.

Just make certain you have a file called cohupdater.new or have downloaded the cohupdater.exe from the location that Rent gave in the main thread.
    Hope you get back in.
Got this problem today and used this post to fix it. Thanks!

This is true. But if you live in a country were the ISP companies are run by criminals (or they may as well be) that overprice their services while still having monthly download limits and you live in a house with 2 brothers who also play this game and download plenty of other stuff, every gigabyte is worth its virtual weight in gold.

edit: You keep saying take a break. I HAVE been on break from doing anything in this game for over a year. Waiting for new dev created content... waiting and waiting for something new to do, a new path to 50... been waiting and waiting, happily buying all their little packs on multiple accounts, "Supporting the game"...
You feel this way and STILL resubbed for a whole year? Wow.

Edit: Also, great list of changes I'm looking forward to it!

I can already look alittle to the left and see shadows and water reflections.

I cant find it atm, but I will... It said content update somewhere in one of these 90 million threads... Will find it later.

ZM, Most of this games quality Improvements are stuff other games have had for forever... So, QoL that they may be... They are also nothing new to many people who have wondered why this game constantly is in the dark ages.
Are you seriously comparing CoH graphics to those of Age of Conan?
You know why AoC has superior graphics 'atm'? BECAUSE IT IS A NEW GAME! Same goes for the QoL comment.

Seriously ... stop creating unrealistic expectations for yourself and then get dissapointed when the devs don't fullfill the promisses YOU made to yourself. If you are that bored with the game go do something else with your time, I know I am, it really isn't that hard.

When I played the game for the first on this machine, I couldn't get rid of the feeling that something was well ... off. After an hour or so I finally determined what it was, there was no 'lag'! I was used to playing with a small delay (fraction of a second really) on everything I did. My old pc really was old, hehe. Suddenly running everything at maxed out settings with sky high framerates was a real eye opener.

Alright, at least this reasoning makes sense.

Tv ads are just not viable for a game as 'small' as this one. Period. As much as I loathe the absence of any effort on NCSoft's side, you have to stay realistic.

This really. How can we ever expect to get more people on the EU servers if they don't ever bother selling the damn game over here.

So just merge the freaking servers already and get it over with.

I don't think he wants me to get the pre purchase, I think he wants me to just get to boxed sets in July. From what I can tell, he doesn't even plan on playing til July. So that is 4 months *I wish you would have told me that before I resubbed us for a year* down the drain.

I want to support this game financially as much as possible. It is to me the best MMO out there, Hows about some new info on what is coming in Issue 17?

Just wow ... and your husband was just griping about GG sounding like a broken record? Really, find something new, this is getting annoying fast.

[base numbers at level 50] ie, Corruptors do 40.7 damage - 83.41 damage if Scourge kicks in. Blasters are stuck with 52.56 damage. Defenders get it worst, since it's in a secondary for them, they pay as much as Blasters but only get to do 30.36 total with it.
Is this the official reason or are we just guessing? Because, to me, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Getting 'punished' for having an inherent that benefits you less than 50% of the time is kind of dubious.

Because other tier 1 blasts don't have damage resistance debuff as their secondary effect.
Since all versions of the power have that effect (defenders have an even higher %?), it's rather irrelevant, no?
