I'd recommend putting it in Health.
IIRC this is not true. They are procs. Things like Miracles +recovery provide a self buff that lasts for 120 seconds. When slotted in passive powers or toggles (as long as you keep them on), however, they trigger every few seconds (don't recal the exact number) which makes them permanently active. As long as you don't exemplar/flashback below the level that gives you acces to the power you slotted them in.

This is also true for the +stealth enhancements.

I fired a mini-nuke at it. It only needed a couple more hits after that.

I kinda like the old arcade game feel, including glowing targetable parts, that encounter gives off. I always suspected/assumed bioware made it like that on purpose.

You could say the same of New York City or any other major city in the wordl for that matter ...

Although I'm not a big fan of special preorder perks tied to a specific vendor, I completely follow your reasoning on all accounts here. I think it's great that effort is being taken to get this great game some visibility in the shops so new players are more tempted to pick it up.

Unfortunatly this won't do me any good since none of those new players are going to be coming to the EU servers. The EU servers REALLY could use an influx of new players. But we all know by now that that isn't going to happen. At least we still got another appeasing 'we're aware of the problem and we're looking into it' post over in the EU section. So thanks for taking the time to at least acknowledge our existance. But I'm not buying it anymore.

I would've gotten the prepurchase the moment it was released AND a boxed set (with or without pre-order perks) on top of that. Now, however, I'm honestly contemplating to let my subscription lapse (that would be first time in 4 years) till a month or two after GR launch and go play some EVE again in the mean time. By then most of the kinks will have been ironed out and it'll be clear if the GR release has had any lasting positive effect on EU numbers.

No, I'm not bitter, just sad to see the decline (well, at least in the part that's relevant to me) of the game I enjoy so much.

Hitting yes everytime is just annoying and unnecessary especially in the middle of a fight.

    CoH Cosmology

See, the CoH-verse is like a 'real' comic book hero universe. A big, convoluted mess of lore and add-ons shoehorned in without any sense of coherency sometimes even with different sources contradicting eachother. I just hope the Praetorian retcon coming with GR makes some of it better instead of worse.

He misjudged a situation, namely the effect his bug fix would have on the LGTF hamidon. That's called a mistake.
In any case the fix is there. Castle already said so. It's coming. What more do you want? That he waves a wand and make it magically appear on the live servers?

No it isn't. But the amount of personal attacks and vitriol flying around in this and similar threads is just over the line. If anyone would talk to me like that in person he'd risk getting his nose remodelled.(This is the reason why I don't do jobs involving customers ) Or are all the whiners so perfect that they never make a mistake at work? I know I do.

    I second this notion.

This actually is an important point. I'm sure the Recluse SF's merit reward for example would be much higher if this was the case.
  14. I play an arc every now and then. I used to play unrated arcs, but it got a bit annoying wading through all the crap. So now I'm working my way through guest author, and dev choices and other high ranking arcs.

It's tough to find decent villain content though.

  17. Marauder looks awsome. My brute can't wait to go toe to toe with him.
It's also nice to see that new the retconned background gives some more depth to his character.

The Syndicate are cool too. Only the helmet from the motercycle guy looks goofy. There's a reason I don't use that on my own characters in game.

This way everyone could try to get their old one back and if it's taken, either stay "EU something" or choose a new one.
But what if the EU one is longest active one? I'd hate to lose my Global of 4 years just because someone starting on the US servers picked that name last week.

But, honestly, if it comes down to it I'm willing to sacrifice my global name for a list merge.

I'm sure the people suffering from these crashes don't find it so 'minor'. But hey don't let that stop you from complaining.

Here's my tip for young drinkers (assuming legal age is 18 here...)

    • If you're going to drink a lot, make sure you dance a lot.
    • Never get into conversation with a dodgy guy in a long coat.
    • Drink a pint of water when you get home.
    • NEVER get into the 'match the guy who seems to be able to drink a lot' catch-up game.
    • Avoid at all costs anything involving Red Bull or WKD - not for any reason other than they are ridiculous drinks and you should feel ashamed to have bought one.
These are some very good tips, I always adhere to them. Except the dancing one. My coordination doesn't get any better when i'm drinking, and it isn't all that great to start with

And I've certainly never claimed it's not the best attack power of the defensive sets, it definitely is, and it's the main reason the set is so fun and popular. IMO, this game could use more SC-like powers, not less.
The problem isn't that it's the best attack power in a defense set. The problem is that it's one of the best attack powers in the game. Period.
It is way better than a similar power that is a tier 9 in an offensive set (lightning rod) and almost as good a lot of nuke style powers which have crashes and massive recharge to compensate for it. And no buffing those powers isn't an option. I REALLY don't see how you can argue the SC is not overpowered.

    Quote:
This doesn't apply to this situation. They should have taken the time to look at the damage it was doing when they ran it through beta, if indeed they had the wrong numbers set for the power. And even if they missed it there, they sure as hell should have caught it after they buffed the power later on. As far as 'squeeking', people have been squeeking about this power from day one. Not really sure where you're going with all the cats and mice, but I'd say the guy in charge of power numbers has a responsibility to check them and make sure they're what they are supposed to be. Finally, if this power is as 'vastly overpowered' as you claim, then this is an enormous blunder on the devs for not catching it for over a year, plain and simple.
I wouldn't say 'enormous ', it's hardly game breaking, but a blunder it is definitely. Castle already admitted they made a mistake. This doesn't mean nothing should be done about correcting that mistake though.

    *sigh* @mister -rep:

Of course it's more complicated than that. I just get sick and tired of every nincompoop claiming that the devs ruined the AE by 'nerfing it into the ground'.

The AE was horribly broken upon its release. The state it is in now is a whole lot better than it was and as soon as they fix their ally spawn fix the biggest beef most people have with it at the moment will be gone too.
Does that mean it is perfect? Hardly, but it's getting there, slowly but surely. And claiming that it is 'nerfed into the ground' and you 'should be able to farm and pl in it if you want' is just ... dumb.
