Quote:Just saying, but using the key yourself will get you a free month and the Complete Collection item pack.I bought prepurchase to play Dual Pistols early, but I'm also going to buy Complete Collection for a different reason: my internet connection is 200Kbps (rural town) with a "Fair Access Policy", and downloading Issue 17 made my ISP charge me $95.00 when I was downloading it in April.
Even at $40.00, Complete Collection's DVD's are cheaper for me than to download against my town's access limits. Plus, I can hang on to the key so if a friend is interested, they can play City of Heroes free for a month. Go Team Venture! -
At costume contest it's plain griefing.
At the market it is just pointless, but I still fail to see how people can really be annoyed by it THAT much. Especially from the hardly noticable Mystic Fortune.
Now, a Demon Summoning MM with his pets out. THAT is annoying when you're shopping. -
Quote:The CoV preorder codes were designed so you could only have one.Well, doubling up on Preorder codes for CoV didn't play nice, you used the second code and wasted it for no gain. Applying multiple codes for an existing edition also doesn't work (you can't apply 2 CoV Collector's Editions and get the free months or two GvE Codes and get the free month, for instance). So, it is possible that the Prepurchase codes will not be compatable with the CE code or the preorder code.
Again, better to ask and get an answer from Customer Service than to spend the money and find out it will not work.
That you can't add the same edition twice is also working as designed and quite logical if you ask me.
The pre-purchase code and the Complete Collection codes are compatible, that's confirmed. Somewhere ... I can't seem to find it, might've been during one of those ingame Q&A's or faq's. The Gamestop pre-order code is just an extra seperate code from the standard Complete Collection code.
It would be REALLY dumb if for whatever reason they decided to make the preorder code not work with the pre-purchase. It would prevent people from buying both the pre-purchase for early acces and a boxed version to collect. There's plenty of people who do things like that and it's exactly what marketing hopes to accomplish by releasing seperate editions like that.
EDIT: But you're right. I've your not convinced it can never hurt to ask. I'm willing to bet a bunch of inf that this is the way it'll work though. -

Just give the option to change names to the 'Super leader' rank (or whatever it's called) that they implemented a while back. Chances are he's the founder or at least the current owner of the SG, so he gets the final say.

Quote:Gah, my eyes! Thanks for including me, Tartyr! This is gonna be SOOOOOO cool! I'm sure traveling in really august company! (*huggles the rest of the Surviving Eight -- especially Dark Ether, who's replacing BABsy, my fave male Dev/NPC*)

Quote:I see no reason why it wouldn't 'play nice' with the pre-purchase. It wouldn't make any sense to do it otherwise. Pre-pruchase/pre-order/complete collection, it's all the same game when it comes down to it. They have made all the previous codes (special editions, pre-orders, digital and boxed versions) compatible with eachother so it would be really dumb to change that now.Hmmm, so nobody knows yet if the codes for this GameStop Special Promotion will play nice with the pre-purchased edition?
So you can get the pre-purchase and add the codes from the boxed set (with or without pre-order bonuses) without problems. It's what I would've done. But I'm in the EU so I don't get a boxed version, let alone a pre-order, so they're not getting any pre-purchase money out of me. I'll wait for the digital Complete Collection edition. I'm vindictive like that. -
Quote:I'll give you Reichsman and the Shadowshards, but what's wrong with the Statesman TF? It's one of the best in the game imo.Yeah, they keep saying that, and every time it makes me cringe.
To the devs, Reichsman is "challenging content".
To me it's a 30 minutes drawn out cycling of my attack chain over and over while getting my mez protection crapped on.
To the devs, the STF if "challenging content."
To me it's Statesman sitting alone on his little boat because the vast majority of players tried it once and didn't want to bother with it again.
To the devs, the Shadow Shard TFs are "challenging content".
Yeah.
I think the challenge will be keeping most people from rage quitting because their character isn't good enough even on the lowest difficulty setting, their teams lacks the magic powerset needed or they can't guess the number between 1 and 1000 that Castle was thinking of when he designed an encounter.

Quote:This is indeed reasonable suggestion. Here's my constructive suggestion, and it has actually been suggested before in relation to other powers:
*snip*
But I'd just like to point out that people who cancel or opt out of perfectly fine buffs because 'they make my awsome costume ugly' get booted of any teams I'm leading. I suffer through barely usefull concept characters, but stuff like that just crosses the line. -

Quote:Well, that doesn't really change anything now does it? People that are hidden from search and just might as well not be there at all for us player who do like to play in PuGs.Can I just mention something here?
/search does NOT give you the full population figures.
It doesn't include me, for a start. All my toons are /hidden from searches.
If I'm solo, I'm solo. If I'm teamed, I'm teamed with people that I know and have played with for a long while. I don't tend to play PuG's, and taking in players I don't know is an irregular and infrequent event.
I don't know how many others may be in a similar situation regarding /hide status, but you can't just assume that /search gives you the whole story.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled argument. -
I actually like the villain zones way more than the hero zones. Villainside has life, atmosphere. Every zone has a clear purpose, theme and backstory.
Heroside zones are just generic, bland and boring. The only zones I do like are the Hollows and revamped Faultline. I'd like Croatoa too, but for some reason I find that it's apart from the rest of CoH. It just doesn't seem to fit in. -
Just put rage on a fixed timer so it can't stack and maybe take out some +tohit. Problem solved.
Just don't touch my footstomp's recharge or radius! It's an important part of my brutes survival in huge groups. (I don't cap defenses) -
Quote:Unless you absolutley need to squeez every last bit of performance out of your characters, no purples aren't worth it.For those of you who don't recall, ED refers to enhancement diversification. As a returning player (it's been far too long) I find that Paragon City's economy is totally revamped (from a depression to inflation!)- I've never had so much influence, but never been so unable to buy the things I wanted!
So, I ask myself, Apocalypse, the ranged damage "Superior" invention origin - is it really worth it? The damage these enhancements offer don't really stack up - do they? I'm asking from a position of ignorance.
I know numbers; I can do math. What I'm wondering is if that .75 % mez resistance or whatever tiny token number it might be (stacked with 0% on my blaster, lol) - is that worth the trade off of less damage?
My blaster is just about fully slotted with HO's. So, I don't really save any slots. Is the loss of damage and in some cases accuracy justified by the tiny bonuses?
I'm pretty sure the answer is "it depends", but I'd like to know what the opinions are.
I play regular Mo runs and manage perfectly fine without on any of my characters. -
There's a big boom and everything is dead. What's not to like?
If you die while using it you're doing it wrong. -

Quote:Spines was created by a completely different group of people than those that are working on the game now.I'd really like to peer into the mind of the developers and try to figure out their thought process on a lot of these sets. Its almost as if they woke up one day and decided they were going to create some caddywhompus set that is Spines lol.
Castle and co seem to have a much better grasp of game balance than the old crew imo. -
Quote:That post was made well over a year ago, and he specificly said that he wasn't going to look at spines at that time. Was castle going to change the things in spines or was he just talking about them?
I got the feeling that he finds spines to be one big mess and that he would go in quite heavy with the rebalancing and most people wouldn't appreciate that. -
Quote:And that's perfectly fine. The prompt as is, though, is just dumb, inconsistent and annoying.
It doesn't. But that's not my concern (or that of many people who like the prompt).
People like me, who like the prompt, want this prompt feature implemented as an optional feature for all ally buffs! This includes Speed Boost, Clear Mind, etc.
The prompt that came with the Fortune buff was a step in the right direction for people like us, and when they removed it, most of us lost hope of this ever growing onto other powers. But now our hope is restored! It doesn't have anything to do with just the Fortune buff. At least not for me and people I know who enjoy the prompt. -

lvls 1-12 nothing or Training Origins.
lvls 12-17 DO
lvls 17+ common IO's that you find or can buy cheap.
Once I'm level 27 i personally start replacing all the lower IOs with lvl 30's. lvl 30 IOs are also the highest lvl I slot. They're on par with SOs and higher levels aren't worth the cost for the minimal performance increase imo.
Then once my characters near lvl 50 I start thinking about a cheap/mid price range set IO build (200million to 1 billion per build, don't do purples that saves you money).

Quote:Yea, I always hate how the whole team grinds to a halt because someone wants to throw out an AoE buff and insists that everyone is within his range before casting it. Just throw out the damn thing and get on with the mission already!I almost never make calls for people to "gather" for any AoE buffs. I simply position myself as best I can while the team is rolling and fire them off. That whole hey-everybody-stop-what-you're-doing-and-gather-around-me thing has always seemed a bit self-important, bossy, and irritating to me.

Quote:... Yes you do. And now you have to click the prompt eveytime as well.I am very happy that this was changed. Now I don't have to worry about being drive-by buffed while shopping.
THANK YOU!!
Not to mention the gazillion buffs that are without prompt.
This line of reasoning just doesn't make ANY sense.
