Quote:Thanks! Hope you dug the rest of the missions.I did the first mission in your arc (I'll finish it later).
Very fun, loved the Greco-bots.
(Their lack of pants was noted as well, and approved!)
I think it might be buggy though, not all the mobs were granting a reward. That might be working as intended though. I'll log in now and finish it off, will try to take a screenshot or two as well.
Good work Troy, great writing!
Pants are overrated. -

Gibson also sent me a batch, and they were also great stuff! I already said my thanks in private, but let me reiterate how much I appreciate it!

Quote:Aliana, those are FANTASTIC! I cannot thank you enough. There's a ton of stuff there I can use. I especially dug the close-ups on the Bone Appetits. Creeptastic! I owe you one. A big Hick-Prize to you for going above and beyond. Here you go, I took a bunch, feel free to pick and choose!

The full size's a bit under 3840x1024 because I play windowed. Just click through the gallery, and click on any screenie you like to get the full sized one
Out of curiosity, did you run this solo? It seemed like a lot of baddies for one hero. -
A request: as some of you may know, my Guest Author arc went up on Architect yesterday. I'd really like to have some screenshots of the missions being played that I can use for various endeavors, but truth be told (and those of you who have seen my handiwork can attest), I am NOT much at taking screenshots.
So if anyone has or will be playing the arc and you're so inclined, I could use some spiffy, high-quality pics of the proceedings, whether it be your characters kicking butt, interacting with NPCs, or holding hands and singing "Kumbaya."
Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Feel free to email me with your shots or a link to 'em (snack cakes are also welcomed).
And I hope you enjoy the arc! -
Quote:Thanks for the feedback, Cy. I tried to make the arc challenging, but I'll admit that as a game designer I probably make a good comic writer.I played the hickman arc - it was very entertaining and well written. My only complaint is that the end drain is BRUTAL in the first two missions. And by brutal I mean ridiculously over-powered. It's bad enough that I'm fairly certain many people would quit the arc over it.
I put a lot of effort into the text and characters, but my grasp of game mechanics probably isn't up to the level of a lot of MA creators. After I'd finished I played through the entire arc AT LEAST several dozen times to work out all the particulars, with a number of different ATs, and was able to get through it without TOO much effort. But I'm sure I didn't take everything into account.
I'll keep your comments in mind in the future. And I hope you enjoyed the arc overall. -
I just ran Mercedes' solo, and it was fun. It was definitely in her "voice."
-
I realize it lacks the prestige of partying it up with a red name, but I'm planning on being available to play my arc through with anyone who wants to do so, as time and my bleary eyes permit. I'll probably announce some times, or you can contact me through the boards and I'd be glad to make time if you're putting a group together (and you can always contact me at @CommonGrounds in the game).
I have plenty of characters on every server, so we should be good.
And really, what's more fun than watching the arc's creator be perpetually faceplanted? -

And I'm known for my time with Blue Man Group.

Quote:Austin is a game designer who has worked on a bunch of stuff, and also wrote the supervillain novel Soon I Will Be Invincible.Mercedes Lackey? Oh HELL No. You won't see ME touch that arc.
Troy Hickman? Oh HELL Yes. No Pants Required.
Austin Grossman? No idea who that is.
I don't know if he wears pants. -
Nah, I live in Indiana, so unless I get miracled out to the coast, I won't be breaking anything but wind and speed limits.

That's fantastic!
(Though the tunnel looks strangely like the Hickmansion) -
Glad to see you folks leveling up! Congrats!

And in the spirit of Christmas, I think we need to remember that Breakneck will ALWAYS live in the hearts and minds of children everywhere...
(Er, sorry; I spiked the egg nog a little too hard) -
Michelle, you've created a CoH "Elseworlds/What If" universe!
So I guess they put up the statue of Cyrus in front of the King's Row train just to commemorate his part in defeating the villains...or maybe they just needed a place for the pigeons to perch... -
I wish you a Merry Hick-mas...and a Happy New Year!
-
So far I've found the MA booster one of the more useful. That ninja running/leaping alone is worth the price of admission (and that flip in the air rules with an iron fist in a velvet glove).
Regarding the aforementioned Self-Destruct, I use it all the time, if for no other reason than to thumb my nose at the villain who is about to faceplant me.
Remember, a cheap thrill is still a thrill... -
I'm all for occasional random dogs and cats. It would add realism to the game.
And every once in a great while, I want there to be a rabid dog that sends the NPCs running, and an AR blaster has to show up and pull an "Old Yeller."
It's the simple things that make life enjoyable... -
Quote:If you ever nudge them enough, I'm along for the ride. So, in THAT case, let me say that you were the best artist of the CoH Comic run, and that the group portrait of the Vindicators was simply outstanding.
So get the Powers That Be to resurrect the CoH Comic--- you draw and let Troy Hickman do the writing.
THAT would be something!
PS-If you need help on this, who should we nudge to make it so?
Regarding artists ON THE LADIES, in addition to many of the folks mentioned above, I'd say George Perez, Art Adams, Mike Kaluta, my buddy Rodolfo Migliari, and, while probably not many folks consider him a cheesecake artist, Don Heck's women always struck me as schwing-worthy.
