As I understand, it is because the pets have a brawl ability which they will use. That is why they run into combat. Taking away bots/merc brawl ability should do it.
-
OK, maybe not totally SOs :P But basically I was aiming for a cheaper build >.>
-
...I forgot it was bots/time >.>
But yes, Rob and Tims need all the help they can get!
http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...CFFF002D67FB50
Now what else can I do to my build? :P -
http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...71FF019D58D5E7
So I'm working on this build for fun really. Testing what I know. I'm trying to only us SOs, defence/recharge enhancements when I need them (in mind link) and procs to overcome ED. So what do you think? I've got 15 slots left to spend and no powers. -
I'm not willing to spend that amount of cash on this toon. All the expensive stuff on her like Hami-Os and the purples and most of the recipes are stuff I already have.
Edit: Made some changes, changed slots around. What do you think? -
So, I've kinda given up on making my MM beastly like the rest of my toons, I simply lack the micromangement skills to do it. However, I've spent some cash on her and well...why not at least use her for farming stuff :P
The GD mastermind guide helped me a bit, so I'm gonna give her one last shot and I've worked out a spec in Mids.
http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...58FF03900EFD78
What do you guys think and what changes would you make? The purple IOs I already had slotted on her. The hami-os I've got by the ton. -
YES! More energy drinks have given me another idea!
I know there is an up coming change for TFs/SFs and how they form, which is gonna be great I think. But I've got some ideas of my own to improve them and help SGs.
Firstly, when 4 or more members of an SG are on the same task force, completing it will give a badge to the SG. It also gives them a big chunk of prestige the first time it is done. You've just helped out the CoH world in a big way, you deserve a little recognition.
Secondly, these TF badges unlock decorations for your base. Much like the signature wep stuff from the Paragon Rewards program, but I'm thinking tailored to each task force. For example, Synapse could give a big gear or maybe the ruined clockwork king body, while doing a Manticore could give you a Paragon Protecter suit on a manniquine. Way I'm thinking, they would be nice trophies to show off your awesomeness.
Alternatively, they drop a recipe to a random member of the team which can be crafted into a trophy of your choice or sumin.
Thirdly. For TFs, an extra reward. Costume pieces.
For example, you run a Statesman task force. You've beaten down every major villain, and the option is there to take a piece of their costume. From there you can chose Ghost Widow's buttcap, something Mako ish, I dunno, Scorrios sword or Black Scorpions tail. These would be the common rewards, with there being a rare reward which can drop randomly, for example, Lord Recluse's cape. You could also buy these costumes with merits. Thus, like Maelstromm's Pistols, there is an extra and cool looking reward.
Fourth. After doing a task force and getting the SG, your SG unlocks a power that can be crafted. One use. It teleports you to any TF contact whose TF you have already done.
Now coding/modelling wise, this would probably be a nightmare, but I think they would be nice ideas. -
I'm a subscriber :P Just most other games it is an xp bonus and I like getting toons to max power asap.

Grasshopper was excited. Today was the day. She had put up flyers, made snacks and rented a local hall. She had even persuaded a couple of veteran heroes to come and give a speech about being a hero.
Today, she formed the Youngblood!
Grasshopper, real name Erly Brown, had wanted to be a hero all her life, ever since she was kneehigh to a grasshopper. The happiest day of her life must have been when she discovered her mutation. Now she could leap over the tallest buildings, run faster and kick bad guys through walls.
After that she spent weeks making her costume, working on her moves and coming up with a name. She longed to be called something like Lady Kickass or something, but somehow she had wound up being called Grasshopper still. Not even the green Grasshopper. Just Grasshopper. But that didn't matter any more, now people knew her. Just last week she had teamed up with a pair of older heroes to take down a nest of Trolls in the hollows and the week before she had single handedly saved an office block from being blown up.
Now all she had to do was sit back and wait for someone else to show up to join the supergroup.
((Open RP, focusing around forming this super group and their adventures, newbie heroes preferred, but if you want to be a veteran hero coming to show us the ropes or sponsor us or sumin, that is fine aswell!)) -
How about a global character xp bonus? Stacks up to 30% or sumin. 6 50s, everything levels faster.

Quote:I was meaning diffrent mobs would drop diffrent renamed hammers, for example, Carnival drop Carny hammers. Now I'm just guessing on this but I'm betting the limitations of the code will require that for every different version of Gabriel's Hammer (the different types of hammers), there has the be a recipe for that version otherwise when you pull out the hammer, it will probably be a random version as theres nothing to specify to the game what version of the hammer you have.
-
Errr...this can't be a good thing. *headshakes*.
Make a new costume, IMO. Or take off your capes like they did for Hero One. -
So, I'm using energy drinks to fuel my crazy idea machine, and I've been thinking. Temp powers don't seem to have much love at all. They can be very useful and very underloved. So I was thinking of a couples of ways to revamp them.
Now, first of all, my idea involves a tidy up of the power screen. Moving the inherent ranged attack to inherent powers. Also giving the option to sort temporary powers by ability, name and number of uses/time left. Small thing, probably a coding problem, but it would be nice to see what jetpack has the most time on it etc.
Secondly, allowing temp powers to stack up to 3-5 times. So you can make 3 versions of Pistol and you will end up with 90 pistol shots. Another nice thing to have, I think.
Thirdly. Condense the recipes into one for each power. My idea involves adding new recipes, so having 3 versions of one recipes seems a bit...pointless.
Fourthly. Add some text to some temp powers to say where they came from. For example, Coral Shard, it could say. "These were unlocked from the Renult SF" or sumin.
Now onto the main idea. I want to see diffrent mobs drop diffrent temporary powers. For example, Gabrielle's hammer, nice enough power, does damage, simple. The sledgehammer is a bit boring though, and who is Gabrielle? Why have we got his hammer? My idea involves reskinning the hammer and adding a few diffrent looking versions. Maybe one is a war mace hammer, another is the impact hammer, another is the carnival heavy hammer etc. We've taken these off people we have killed and arrested and repaired them so we can use them.
A couple of ideas. For handgun, the crossbow from the Vhazlok, a laser pistol, various hand guns, maybe even Maelstromm's pistol. The hammers I suggested above.
I also would like to see missions which give a temp power, at the ending, giving a perma recipe for this power which can't be traded. So people can keep using some of the good temp powers out there. Price them accordingly so they are reasonably expensive if they are amazing powers.
And as some ideas (and this is for recipes in general) add some more. Why not add some emotes, for example, a level up kinda emote, or more costume pieces. Some new temp powers would also be nice based on current mechanics or new powers. For example, a glue trap. Located AoE, applies a small slow.
I know there isn't much there to go on, but it is a red bull idea :P Maybe if people like it we can add more.
P.S Make the jet packs last 2 hours like normal jet packs! -
Quote:Mind Link doesn't normally take recharge powers. From what I understand from what people have told me, this means you can't slot those in Mind Link because they enhance recharge and when issue 22 goes live, they can't be slotted in Mindlink/Membranes specifically enhance Recharge, Defense, and To Hit Buffs. They work as intended, you should be allowed to slot Membranes. Or are you thinking Enzymes?? Unless there are specifically changing the how to slot Mind Link itself, which I haven't heard, Membranes should be ok.
-
Quote:My advice is not too. Membranes are being changed in Issue 22 so they can't be slotted into Mind Link. I had a spec planned out with 2 of them and I was sad that it wouldn't work.My two cents.
Get a Membrane Hami-O for Mind Link if you can, even just one.
So yeah. Good idea, but it won't work any more. -
The butt capes are on the widow females at the moment, so I don't think a code rant is needed :P
-
Did he give a lore reason for anything and care you share the info?
-
First one, yeah, I can see it changing. All other crab attacks have energy damage.
As for the second one, I dunno. I quite like how Omega bomb works at the moment. The dam/range on it is useful, when slotted with Positron and that 6.25% recharge works better for us for 5 slots than a 5% one. -

I've made some changes. Taken Cardiac Core. Slotted for 1 IO of end recovery and added end reduction to other powers. Any suggests for end saving? -
Just wanna say. This has restored some of my faith in humanity. Kids are often labelled with the tag of being immature and rude, but maybe that is cause I play too many FPS.
Glad to see someone who breaks the mold and sets an example. -
Lord Recluse, 1, isn't that stupid. He is a mastermind of evil and I would think he would have a problem with sharing and 2, is intresting in part because everywhere else there isn't a Recluse. He is special or dead.
-
Well...I actually had an idea for a PEAT. A cross between my idea for a Midnighter and a SoA and use the IDF. Have them tech or natural based. They can use rockets, guns, melee or lasers or sumin. More tech based powers, with their pets being battle orbs etc. A PEAT if I ever saw one :P
But as another idea for a PEAT, the resistance fighter.
The resistance fighter can fight for many reasons. Because they have to, or because they want to. They tirelessly struggle to overthrow Cole.
The resistance fighter isn't likely to win face to face, but by fighting smart and aiding his team, he can win. He supports his team by setting up safe areas, guiding them silently through the best path and turning the battle ground to his advantage.
Inherent: Fighting Smart: Any bomb that is detonated by choice by the resistance fighter recieves a damage and accuracy bonus and the chance to apply a large res debuff.
Primary Power: Guns, similar to SoA's wolf spider powers, but with a scrapnal grenade over a venom one.
Secondary: Guerrilla Fighter. This is a mix of leadership, traps and other powers. However, part of the idea of this is it is virsitile. Some ideas are:
1) Auto power: Armouring. An auto buff that gives you a small amount of defence and resistance (around 5% each to all), and your allies half that amount.
2) Surveillance: A long recharge res debuff.
3) Safe Area: You create a located AoE, which grants a buff to healing received in the area, and a stun to any enemies caught in it.
4) Will to Go On: A defence buff auto with some defence debuff protection.
5) Armour Piercing Ammo: Doubles the defence debuff of all gun attacks for 20 seconds.
6) Fixadine: You have just the right amount of fixadine. Not too little, not too much, but you've become, for a short time only, a powerhouse. Damage, defence, resistance all take a boost, but at the end of this you have end crash and some other debuff effects.
7) Stealth: It allows them to stealth in a drop bombs to detonate when they will.
Also for the traps, the resistance fighter will gain a window like the pets window and can detonate these when they choose or give them a time of their chose However, there is a radius for them to be detonated in. Any further than that and they explode.
The idea behind this is someone who can control the battle field with there bombs and can set of cascading explosions to bring down cole.
My other idea. The EAT called the Arcane (or maybe just) Scholar.
The Scholar has worked for Vanguard, the Midnighters, those fighting Rularuu and even Arachnos and can be considered an expert on many types of enemies. They prefer to out think their foe than straight up fight them.
Their inherent is called Observation and it functions a bit like a rage bar. They build it up by fighting, or by using their to hit buffs on an enemy. Once the bar is full, they have worked out how to best hurt their enemy, granting them and their team a straight up damage bonus, a to hit bonus and a proc called understanding which, when it pulses, grant a small bit of endurance back.
Powerwise, I'm thinking blasters, with access to themed powers (Mu being electricity, rularuu being psychic or sumin, Circle of Thorns being the elemental magics, Nictus being the negative energy) and the Aim power replaced with the Study power. For secondries, I'm also thinking blaster powers. Of course their damage potential without Observation running should be lower than Blasters, but with Observation running, I'm thinking the same as, so blasters do constant good DPS while AS's provide less DPS but help the team more.
My only issue with my ATs is they don't really feel "heroic" or villainous. Maybe a little too fantasy.
