Quote:Better yet, make the Rikti transformation an inherent and make the Monkey Brawl slottable.I think it should be a complete transformation akin to the Kheldian shapeshifts.
We should get Monkey Brawl and some psychic blasts (all at the lowest possible modifiers), as well as the poisonous gas thing when we (inevitably) die.
Six-slotted Monkey-Brawl.
Awwwwriiiiight.
ETA: And then you just KNOW some crazy person's gonna put footage on Youtube of a Rikti Monkey soloing a Rikti Pylon. -

LORD OF THE RINGS BLOWS STAR WARS OUT OF THE WATER, AND GANDALF WILL SMITE YOU FOR YOUR INSOLENCE.
And your blatant misrepresentation of the LOTR movies. >.>;; -

Alright, I had a toon named Skyrider, a Fiery Melee/Invulnerability Scrapper, who I made as part of a static team. I had to take a break, when I came back the team had gone south, and Skyrider has been sitting in my toolbar mostly-unused.
I still play as her occasionally, and moreso lately, now that I'm not as focused on getting my main to 50.
But I keep hearing troubling things, specifically about Invulnerability.
Specifically, that it's kinda crap.
It's squishiest of squish, has massive holes, and it's entirely possible that its mother does obscene things for money.
So let me ask. How well should a Fire/Invuln scrapper be performing, what can I expect, and is there any advice for getting the most out of this combination?
(Don't worry, I'm not gonna make one of these threads every time I get a character to 20. >.>;; ) -
Pff, please. Twisted Sister is a classic eighties hair metal band. That look Fedor's got going on is more of a hippie-revival grunge rock type of deal.
-
*Sips coffee*
*Spits it out*
Augh! WHAT ******* PUT SALT IN THE-
...um...
...sorry about all the coffee, Fedor. *Offers him a tiny sack-sized towel* -
I'm halfway between light and immersive. I do speak OOC in several (I would even say most) channels, only RPing in Local and occasionally Tells unless the team we're on is an RP team, but I hate any mish that doesn't seem in-character, and I hate repeating content as the same character.
I only do action RP if I'm taking part in a specific RP team, but when I do it's always fun. -
Quote:I think the problem here is not that a team without a blaster is unplayable- as you say, no archetype is essential.Yes, blasters are superfluous, but that's not the whole story. Please allow me a short moment to list all the superfluous ATs in this game.
Blaster.
Controller.
Defender.
Scrapper.
Tanker.
Peacebringer.
Warshade.
Brute.
Corruptor.
Dominator.
Stalker.
Mastermind.
Arachnos Soldier.
Arachnos Widow.
Now, take those archetypes and ask yourself: What if I had a team of three <x>?
Because three Blasters, three Stalkers, or three Peacebringers would be absolutely screwed as a team.
Three of... well, anything else... would wreck shop. Easily.
The point isn't that my blaster isn't necessary, the point is that he isn't USEFUL. -
Quote:That point might be marginally more valid if there were, in fact, two threads a day.Good point, we might be able to legitimize our position and standing by posting two to three threads a day of the same stuff.
Was that what you were asking?
What there in fact is, is a single thread per day (Which still- STILL- has absolutely no effect on anybody who doesn't look at the thread) and an extra thread to organize a peripherally-related in-game event.
Sort of like a supergroup will post a seperate thread for supergroup events instead. -
Quote:I understand not dropping rares like candy, and even restricting the merits, but why in the paisley CHRIST did they have to create an arbitrary difference between the Shards you get in standard endgame content and the THreads you get in trials?Have never raided. I mean sure it's a self sustaining thing, trial to get incarnate powers to make trials easier... but it's gaming after all!
WHY?
WHY DO THEY WANT TO RAILROAD US INTO THESE TWO (NOW THREE) TRIALS?
WHAT PURPOSE DOES THAT SERVE? HOW DOES IT MAKE THEIR LIFE EASIER? HOW DOES IT MAKE OUR LIFE BETTER? WHAT EXPLOIT OR QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUE DOES IT SERVE?
In short:
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? -
Claws is obscenely fast and still does crazy amounts of damage. Couple its low-end with WP's end-easiness and it can keep going forever.
Claws/WP Brutes. Like sex without the angst. It's become a mantra for me. -
I'm so tired of iTrials
I don't even have Destiny and Lore unlocked yet and I already want to find whoever came up with the idea of forcing people to do ALL THEIR ADVANCEMENT in the SAME LIMITED SELECTION OF TRIALS.
And I want to shove their face into a belt-sander. -
Quote:Even better idea: Shared attacks. Nearly all the Kheldian form attacks are clones of human-form attacks, so instead of having seperate ST, Cone, and targeted AoEs for the Nova, just give the Nova access to the Human-form ranged attacks. Similarly, give the Dwarf access to the Human-form melee, shield, and self-heal abilities.I wish forms were just made inherent, with 4 inherent slots in each form power.
Et voila. Slot crunch over. -
Quote:You misunderstand, I think.I've found that SS with some kind of stealth proc or SS + an invis power is necessary for speed ITFs ( when playing a squishy ). Without SS - yep you're going to faceplant a lot.
It's not that I have some difficulty with ITFs, that I die a lot on ITFs, that ITFs are something that is beyond my grasp or overly frustrating.
I've just done so blasted many of them that the brick-in-face plan sounds less UNPLEASANT. -
-
Quote:My holds slide off of the backs of everything in BAF and on the Mothership like water off a duck's backside. Ice Patch is hard to use without getting killed- and still doesn't seem to have a whole terrific lot of effect on anything in those two locations. In the meantime, maybe you're just doing the wrong tasks. Between the holds, AoEs, and Ice Patch, I can't imagine an ice blaster being useless in any way on BAFs, Hami raids, ITFs, mothership raids...
As for ITFs, I've done... a few ITFs. And by a few, I mean enough that, frankly, the very thought of doing another one makes me want to hit myself in the face with a brick until it feels good. -
I have heard good things about War Mace/Energy Aura.
Apparently it's both powerful AND aesthetically pleasant. -
Alright, I've never really done a whole lot of build work, but I do play around in MIDS often.
Taking into account what was said earlier, I tried to come up with a suitable build based on buffing my Ranged and AoE defense as much as possible, though I have no idea how effective this build is.
So, here's what I came up with. Again, I'm /incredibly/ new at this. If you have any suggestions for how I could improve this, or any newbie mistakes I made.

I'm not made of ice!
And I'm not a monster, for that matter. -
Quote:... Do you mean the long, dull, monotonous Villain Merit track that you can grind at the rate of one every two days of hours of alignment missions, or the Reward Merits that it takes roughly 200 of to make up a SINGLE useful recipe.HAHA. Theft of essence chance for +end in dark reg, a numina's +/+ and the miracle + in health. All are easily gotten with merits.

It's like every infantile logical fallacy rolled into one. -
Alright.
That's it.

Really?
I... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
Wait.
You're serious.
REALLY?
Quote:I'll go one further and just flat out say it, right here right now...
The Fury generation thing is flat out BUNK.
Brutes have had Dark armor this whole time, which has two toggles that COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ATTACKS AGAINST YOU BY MOBS IN MELEE RANGE.
If there was no problem with giving Dark to Brutes, there's ZERO problem with Ice.
You know, that Brute set that's so god-awful to play that the legendary badness has become a running gag. -
My Claws/WP brute is the fastest, most-survivable, least-prone-to-dying, and easily the easiest-to-level character I've ever played.
Seriously. Playing Claws/WP on a brute is sex without the angst.
Quote:Ahahaha. Claws is the only attack set I have EVER PLAYED that wasn't a storm of misses with massive gaps in the attack chain between level 10 and level 20. I didn't even update to DOs until level 17 because I forgot.Bill (and everyone else),
When you say Claws is better on a Brute, is that at ALL recharge levels and/or throughout normal gameplay when you are just cruising on generics? Or is it endgame when you may have a ton of global recharge and etc? Or is the (slight) advantage at all levels and all price points?
Lewis
I didn't need them. -
*Chews donuts*
...What? Laxatives and poisons don't affect me anymore.
