Quote:GB is still new to this whole thing. He's a regular guy, and being a leader in his everyday job in no way qualifies him to lead this group. He has taken up the leadership role reluctantly. I say reluctantly only because he doesn't want to cause harm to his teammates. Having never dealt with aliens before in his life (even in Paragon City, he's never seen a Rikti ever), he is a bit ... um, nervous and cautious in his treatment of these teammates. He has great respect for the whole team and it shows in his actions, I hope. And his confidence in them will grow quickly, especially if last night's run is any indication of how well they can be together.Quote:Another question to ask is what role (outside of archetypes) do people see their character's taking in the party? I see Crystal as being the heart of the team. The ultimate optimist, and team mom, for lack of a better term.
Leader: Glimmer Bolt
Lancers: Skyrider, Rumblerock
Big Guy: Unaitus
Smart Guys: Ke'ros, Radioluminescence, Imperiana
Chick: Crystal Sunbeam
(Note, I'm just describing their role as per the trope page. Don't read too much into it.)
Quote:i can dig on that, chosen by a higher galactic power angle. but we're not yet aware of that, right? except maybe Skyrider.
In seriousness, I don't know how I feel about the Alien focus. I think it seems far more plausible that the Aliens gathered from across the galaxy to face whatever impending threat it is. Rikti and Lost aren't really in the "Holy war" category- most Religious archetypes would be more interested in healing and saving them than in smiting them with holy glowy smitingness.
Personally, I'm seeing something along the lines of an impending doom, possibly one of which the characters are only vaguely aware. (Related to the Coming Storm, perhaps, or possibly something to do with maintaining timelines or dimensions or whatnot?) -
*Marches in and declares loudly* YOU KNOW NOTHING, AND I KNOW NOTHING. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND I IS THAT I KNOW I KNOW NOTHING, AND YOU DO NOT. THEREFORE, I AM SMARTER THAN YOU.
*Marches out* -
It worked! Thanks!
... That's completely and utterly counterintuitive, by the way, seeing as how I wasn't on a team. >.> -
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I was completely and utterly clueless as to what to do, and where this question went.
My problem is this.
I went to do the new Dark Mirror story arc. Now, since I was already level 37 at this point, I had to do the Flashback story arc.
And I mostly play Solo with this toon.
Now, the problem is this: Now, having accepted the Flashback mission, I've been exemp'd down to level 29... and I can't do anything else until I finish the mission
When I tried to do it, I was quickly trounced by the first boss. I've tried and tried and tried to beat him, but I'm but a wee squishy Ice blaster, whose primary control powers have no effect on a Boss. Suffice it to say, this arc is beyond my skill level to solo.
Only I can't abandon it, for reasons that bewilder me.
So now I can't do this mission, and the game won't let me do anything else BUT the mission, and I can't DROP the mission.
How do I get rid of this infernal thing and get on with my game? -

Quote:I'd kind of like something a bit more than that. Some sort of unifying theme. A calling, or a particular set of circumstances, or some common event in our backstories, or some common enemy... something. If only because there's five billion SGs out there that are just generic "Many different heroes come together to Fight Crime!" as their theme.Had a ton of fun with everyone . I think the whole JLA theme fits well , a group of heroes coming together to take on threats bigger than normal humans can handle .
ETA: Also, we should figure out stuff like, what origin are we predominantly, what themes does the makeup of our characters really suggest? If nothing else, we ought to figure out such a theme if only so we can link our concepts to (if we intend to build one) a base.
... Not that I've put a lot of thought into this sort of thing. Not at all. >.> <.< -
Well, that was awesome, and y'all were awesome.
Also, I think before we come up with a Supergroup name, we should figure out what our actual theme and mission is. -
*Strides into the chat, looking around shiftily, pulling his fedora further down on his face*
I'm not a sekrit double-agent playing both sides against eachother for profit, I promise. -
Saw it coming a million miles away.

Quote:I support this notion. Street-crime is terrible, but we do have a police department, and our fellow heroes will doubtless appreciate our sharing the streets, as it were.Uuuummmm...
as fun as that may seem in *concept*, in practice i don't really want to stop every 50 feet to beat a grey con.my time is limited and precious.
and the JLA generally has more important, immediate world-shattering missions to attend to and can leave the purse snatching to the up-and-coming heroes.hey, ya gotta prioritize.

*Creates an ice horse, then realizes how stupid that is and lets it melt*
Ahem. Anyway.
*Saunters into the saloon, ice-spurs jingling with each step*
I'm lookin' for a man. A man with one eye, who always wears a black hat. -
Well, I would think. I mean, we have an alien-Kheldian hybrid, an alien who doubles as an electrical generator, a Hell's Angel only from the other team, a medieval swordfighter, a... radioactive... something, and a Hippie!

Okay, I was referring to the LEVEL OF SUPERPOWERS ASCRIBED TO THE CHARACTER, which is the clearly relevant subject on this thread, so if we could stop the smarmy-*** tangential criticisms, that'd be keen.
-
Hmm.
*Attempts to make an ice-tree that will support LCT's weight, before giving up in despair* -
That's my point. Half the people in this thread are in favor of Phenomenal Cosmic Power, the other half are all "I'm Batman, so GTFO!"

Lost and Found
Scientists were at a loss Wednesday when the Lost cure, discovered by yet another hero on Tuesday evening, vanished from their vaults. No evidence of any entry into the laboratory has been discovered, yet the cure, the wand, and the recipe have all vanished without a trace.
"It's irritating," says University specialist Montague Castanella, one of the researchers who led the search for the cure, "But at least it's giving our heroes something to do."
The Lost, a perpetual menace on the streets of Paragon City, are known to be victims of a strange condition which is both incredibly painful and makes them extremely powerful. This week marks the 1,000th time the recipe has been found, only to be stolen yet again.
"What am I supposed to do, call Ascendant and tell him 'sorry, we lost it, can you get it for us again?" Castanella points out. "So we have to get a new hero, every single time, and just hope that this one takes. Meanwhile, the heroes can only save ten or twenty people with every wand we make. It's really very frustrating."
Authorities say that, once again, they are completely stymied.
"We've got nothing," one anonymous officer was quoted as saying. "It's really rather embarrassing. They just waltzed out of the building with a multi-billion-dollar bit of technology that could save countless lives, and we haven't found anything."
More updates as this story develops. Then again, we say that every time this happens. -
Quote:I was actually thinking of those two in particular. My current Virtue scrapper and troller are unengaged, and Skyrider would probably work well.Okay, mousedroid bowed out, so Tram, if you still want in, we have room
(hint hint: another scrapper or troller would be nice, but no pressure lol)
Hmm. Right, then. I'll work with a Fire/Invuln Scrapper. Skyrider.
And thanks, Mousedroid, for the opportunity. I appreciate it.
ETA: So as not to be a hypocrite, Skyrider's a biker who's been blessed by angels. Sort of like Heaven's answer to Ghostrider. Only female, hispanic, and not played by Nicholas Cage. -
Am I the only one here whose heroes are actually about what you'd expect a hero to be power-wise?
I give them a few powers, a few weaknesses, and let them slowly "become more powerful" as they level.
I mean, screw bad RP... Cosmic Powers are boring. At least, godlike ones are. Ones that are less consciously controlled, somehow restricted, only occur at spontaneous intervals, or are somehow linked to some bizarre and alien aspect of the characters' psyche, those are interesting, but then, those also aren't as much of a problem. -
Quote:I thought I had that taken care of by replacing it with ice. There's a such thing as overkill. XD*defends the Neko Fort from the Puppeh Assault by coating the pole with Seal Blubber!*

Quote:Hey! Not all blasters have itchy trigger fingers!8 troller teams are quite unstoppable. And therefore, boring and lame. I'd rather play a troller with 7 blasters with itchy trigger fingers and no fear of death.
Of course, I'm an ice/ice, so I'm pretty much a blastroller anyway, but still! -
I'd be interested in joining, but I do request that we get a more in-depth explanation of the character concepts, rather than just an AT and powersets, so I can do something that fits and rounds out the team.
(I mean, this is an RP group, after all. Character concepts would be helpful in general. XD) -
Um. Hang on, my gimmick is ice, so I have to find some comical use of an ice prop.
Um...
Ooh, there we go. *Replaces the pole with an ice pole and dashes off snickering like Muttley*
