wow, three responses and one answer, gotta love nitpickers.

i would love to see a content heavy issue, new mish's, TF's/SF's and maybe an overhaul of hazard zones like the hollows got a while back. we have a ton of new shiney's in i16 and going rogue (which i love, not complaining) so i believe they can get away with a content heavy issue without much flak from the community.

when clicking threw the reward button like the most of you seem to do it has a tendency to close the ticket window, no game crash, but it's like the person behind the counter goes "well you are just a little too excited, no more shopping for you" and i have to click on them to reopen the window. this may be because I'm running a relatively beefy rig, if the stats were lower it may very well be crashing on me.

well apparently that long hiatus for educational reasons seems to have paid off

i can't stand looking at my superheroes/villains like they are nicely adorned wireframe calculators, takes all the life out of the game.

i had planned to finally get a villain up to 50 to unlock VEAT's, as my highest vill was level 22, i've always had a devil of a time finding consistent teams on red side. and i freely admit planning on using AE to attain my goal.

funny thing happened, after a run or two i had obviously out leveled my enhancers, and spent my tickets on reward rolls, so i figured i would go buy SO's, well i realized there are zones i have never seen, TONS of content i have never done, and loads of fun to be had on red side that i have not yet reached. so i got my Corr up to 40 to access higher level content, and am thrilled i stopped, looking forward to FINALLY playing in grandville

kinda glad i could scream thru some levels after two years of failing to get a higher level vill, but i have a renewed sense of awe with the game that i haven't had in awhile, YAY 2BL XPEES

Fire/TA for stacked Slows with Glue and Rain of Fire, a nice little hellish maelstrom that's about half as deadly as OSA, but usable three times as frequently.

Dark/TA for cone spam with five damage procs and absolutely disgusting amounts of -ToHit stacked with Ranged defense.

look, it's not personal, please play how ever you want to play, and enjoy any aspects of the game you like, but i can't fathom this kinda mentality.

if you were a superhero/villain, and could shoot fire or dark energy out of your hands, would the first thing that springs to mind be "NOW i need some trick arrows and i'll be superduper"? no, it wouldn't, cause it effin dumb!! you would just shoot fire, and be happy. i can't fathom playing a character with two powersets that don't fit SOMEHOW, sure stretch it as much as you can, but make some kind of connection.
i'm amazed that people can play this game with that much focus on the functionality aspect of it, this game has never been hard enough to warrent power gaming, so characters like the above just flaberghast me.

not an attack on your play style, just an knee jerk reaction to your listing Fire/TA and Dark/TA and how people approach this game so differently.

PS: To the OP - I'm VERY excited about this! I've wanted a fire/ta corr for quite a while, even more so since pp started. Arkansas Heat will probably be the first new character I make when i16 hits ^___^

random jump? try re-reading the post, "stacked slows" and "damage procs and disgusting amounts of -tohit", it's not like i was making stuff up. i didn't say the person who posted didn't have a right to play like they want to, just that i feel this game's "point" is it's genre, it's not a hard game, but it is a relatively immersive superhero game, and to play for numerical effect just seems odd to me. if you don't enjoy playing a "supehero" or super villain" why play? there's other games out there with a lot more numbers to crunch, this one is far from ideal from that standpoint. i know that last section of my post may have been too much reading for any one to bother, and i know you guys are a reactionary lot, but come on now, i feel i completely explained my post. i guess i'll go [censored] myself for having an opinion.

obviously i will jump on the "which ever one seems fun to you' bandwagon, because in the end, that's what counts. but being a major altoholic myself, that answer could easily be "any of the above, or ALL of the above". so with that in mind, my recommendations are;
fire/fire/pyre tank, alot of soloabilty there and maxing out the AoE goodness of this natural scranker will allow you solo so much high end stuff that the drops alone will net you more then you spend on him, so he will be good to fund the OTHER toons when you want to purp them.
although i dont have a high end blaster, i've heard soft capping ranged def on a blaster adds ALOT to them, sounds pretty obvious huh?, that it is worth the money and time, a hard to hit fire blaster would net you as much money as the tanker if not more.

so, although all of them would be worth doing because they are YOUR toons who you love (assumption on my part), those two would probably increase your income level enough to consider doing the rest. just my 2 cents. good luck.

if it helps, i've played the arc, i enjoyed it, and it was by no means a "farm". to who ever "reported" your mish, they're an [censored], and if the gm's don't un-ban it, screw them too. Draconian enforcement of over reactions to Dev created issues is something that seriously bothers me.

i understand the devs never wanted people to farm AE, and in essence i agree, but giving them access to the ability to make farms is not the farmers fault, you gave access to it, it's the Devs, so a smackdown type retaliation to the farming, should at the very least be heavily policed to make sure it doesn't adversly effect those that correctly use the MA. it reeks of "NOOOO!!! i don't ant you to play it that way.... NOW i will punish everyone who comes within my line of sight". i've had a handful of friends get completely legit arc's banned because one effin noob reports it because it ISNT a farm. at this point the "cure" is almost as bad as the "disease".

hate to see someone leave due to logistics clay, hope things change for the better and you come back (so don't give everything away), the more vets playing the better for everyone.


and to the sat. internet connection speculation; HELL NO, it won't work, latency is wayyyy too high, even on it's best day it would work worse then a dial up connection. satellite internet is a last ditch effort at best, although i may be harboring some bitterness.

there is also the compromise of making more AT's that mix the powerset combos you can make, kind of giving you the almost control-less model you are looking for. like maybe a melee/buff-debuff AT. i have no idea if this would work well, i just really want a rad melee/rad emission scrap-thingy
