    um, with about 150 views of the topic, I gotta asume at least half that number have actually gone and looked at the wall-papers. So any other comments? You can tell me what you think I did wrong, or what you don't like about them. Honestly, I won't get mad. I did ask for feed back.
  5. Ya gotta realize what it take to maintaine something on the scale of MMORPG. I mean I maintain a small 6 node network, and if something goes wrong, or I install a patch wrong, I am looking at an hour or so worth of work to correct. For something like an MMORPG, you've got all the tech side stuff (Hard ware, cables, cords ect) the Program side stuff (The Server OS, the Log In Modules, the Community Store, ect) The game itself, and then you've got How the Game actually works (Like how different Power effects stack versus how others stack.) There's a lot to it, and hey news flash for everyone: The Support crew are Human! Humans make mistakes. While I dislike having to deal with the down time (Always one my day off too ) I'm very much releived that the Devs and support crew A) Admit their mistakes and B) Are working to fix them.

    To all the guys, gals, boys, girls, dogs, cats, rats, rodents, and other unidentified creatures working on correcting the problem, Take your time. We got your back.
  6. here, download this file Lord Recluse Ready Demo (You'll need to Right click on it, and selest "Save target as" to download it)
    Put it in your "client Demos" Directory under City of Heroes.
    and use the City of Heroes Demo Player to play the file with "Demo Dump Selected" It will generate about 10 images per second of demo. I coded the Demo so that Recluse revolves around his Z axis, then his X Axis and then his Y Axis. That should give you ever angle you could need.

    That was a semi-promo piece I made for a Fan-comic I've started (one that has since taken on a life of it's own). It shows the four main villians I'm using in my stories. The first is obviously Rikti Warmaster Hro'dhotz (SP). The second is a character known as Knossus, the Third is the Pretorian Version of my brute known as Lord Altarius, and the fourth is a villian known as Rick Walker.

  11. Dude, what scripting tools are you using? I've been playing with demos for a while and have tried several things like that but never with THAT many figures.

    BTW: What the demo originally for anyway?

  13. Greetings to one and to all. I have begun work on a fan based project for City of Heroes. Namely a City of Heroes fan comic. Well, as any with a web browser and 10 minutes knows, there are dozens of CoH Fan comics out there, so what makes mine different?
    Well, presently nothing. Sure my story's different. Sure the method I use to make the comic may differ. But it's still the same as any other fan comic out there. What I want to do, is make it different in that it is made by the fans, not by just two of three fans.
    To that end, I am making this post asking for anyone who is interested in working with me on this project to contact me.

    What do I need to do to help?
    Well, if you want to help out, first you need to contact me, either by email (Myke_bim2003@yahoo.com) Message Board PM, or in game email (@Torroes Prime) Once you contact me and tell me you would like to work on the comic with me, I will add your email address to the mailing list I have set up. From there, I will send you any information I have on hand about the current issue I am working on. You read it, and make comments, feed back, and suggestions about the material. If you have a character(s) you would like to have included in the story, let me know and we'll arrange a "interview" for the toon. If you have an idea for a story arc, I encourage you to tell me about it. Chances are quite good I will use it.
    Below you will find some general information about the comic itself:

    Story setting: Here’s the break down of the story over all. Recluse has vanished into his other-dimensional experiments. Weather he’s alive or dead, no one knows. All we do know is he went in and hasn't come out .
    Shortly after Recluse entered the dimensional vortex, the Rikti showed up en masse. Hundreds of ships with thousands of troops appeared. Unlike the previous invasion, there was not a5 day warning as the dimensional vortices formed. Their ships simply came into orbit and laid waste to the majority of the earth.
    About this time, all dimensional travel activity became extremely difficult if not impossible in most cases. While it has not been proven, it is strongly believed that the Rikti have something to do with the disruption.
    With Recluse lost, Arachnoes has fractured. Its various Lieutenants and commanders have shattered taking with them resources and men loyal to them. Where each of them have gone, we do not know at this time.
    With Arachnoes broken, the various thugs, gangs, cartels and criminal organizations have grown out of control. Where once Arachnoes was the major threat, with several dozen annoyances, in the forms of the Family, the Carnival of Shadows, and the Freakshow among others, now each of these groups are free from Arachnoes hold and run buck shot over their own territory.
    The Rouge Isles were hit extremely hard as was Paragon city in addition to nearly every military base on the planet. Where last time, the Rikti made the majority of the war from their ships, now they are quickly making land fall and fortifying their holdings into permanent positions. They have begun to run patrol forces tasked with rounding up surviving heroes and Villains who would stand against their rule. The Freedom phalanx, as well as most of the Super teams have been broken. Many of those with psychic powers have fallen into comas or had their mental powers drastically reduced. There have been hundreds of hero and villain casualties in addition to the non-super deaths.
    Long Bow still exists, though in name only. With the destruction of most military bases, Freedom Corps and Long Bow have been broken down into smaller cells of operatives and agents each operating under their standing orders..

  14. Hey all, I'm working one a comic story line starting with the Rikti's renewed attacks agianst earth and I took a couple off from working on the story line and came up with these wall papers:

    This one is basically the four major villians I have plans for in the series. I'm working on a Heroes' one as well.

  16. hey all, is there by any chance a database that lists what FX and what MOV are used in different powers? Like Stone Fist uses X MOV with a OneShot Y.FX ? Is there something like this or am I dreaming?
  17. Hey all, I just finished coding the first of my "Expo demos". THis one is all the flight MOVs. If you're looking to do some screen caping of in flight toons, just do a simple character substitution and hit play. I'll be making an NPC one and giving you all the link for it probably next week. I'm busy this week end.

    I had to upload the demo as a .txt file so you'll need to save it as a .cohdemo file.

    what is this?

    Anyone seen this one? I was playing around with some scripting and had started with 64 Ms. Libertys in an 8 x8 pattern and was then going throuigh and replacing each Libby with a different toon and I saw this one on one of my test viewings.

    And just for the record, it's only 2303 MOV animations and if you think that's crazy, you don't even want to imagine thinking about what I'm doing the demo for.

    OKay, new glitch. Wings don't work in my scripted demo. what gives?
  20. yeah originally that was the entire script, but later I noticed those same problems and have since fixed them. I still have the same problem. The demo loads, the character or NPC loads and does the MOV actions. But no chat bubbles show up. Here's the coding (Well up until it gets repetitive that is)

  21. hey all, got a question about Demo editing. Spefficialy how do I implement a command. I'm trying to put the Chat command into effect so that between each MOV the character has a chat bubble pop up. Here maybe this will help explain it:

    If you can't tell from that snippet, I'm compiling a list of all the MOV actions, and tieing them to a speccific actor. That way I can find out which models can do which actions just by changing 2 lines of code and running the demo. I want the model to do the action, and then have a chat bubble pop up that says "This is whatever" with the MOV name being inplace of whatever. So, what am I doing wrong?

    I hadn't thought about it before, but having read your post I'm curious what a different rendition of my main toon would look like. So here it is: Torroes Prime

    It's a little questionable to tell based on the toon, but that's actually a cyborg body not an exo-suit.
    BUt yeah, he's a brute so all the major close in fighting powers. Super strength with Invulnerability. I'll be curious to see how he turns out.
