  1. If I could go to a trainer and set my combat level to whatever I wanted below me I would. Specially if I would also appear on search engines as being that level. Sometimes a specific level range might be dead, so it would be good to 'con' to other players as a more convenient level.

    I know the SSK system would allow me to get on a lower level team and get xp, but I believe recruiters will still be concerned with going too far from their level ranges when recruiting. I know that if I'm playing a level 30, I'd be weary of asking a random level 50 to my team, who might not like the idea of EXing down. But if that 50 scaled himself down and cons as a 30 on my search engine, it helps sending random tells to people who will mostly say no.

  3. I play defenders to shoot people in the face while my team can go wild knowing I have their backs. When I'm on my defenders (and on my dominators), I like to think of myself as that one hero that the bad guys hate. I am making the fight that much unfair, yet if they try to take me down, they will get hurt, abused, and thrown around.

    When I think of pure support, I think more of controllers. Defenders are support/offense hybrid. The term 'defender' is very inappropriate in my opinion.

    I forgot all about the stun. As far as I'm concerned, Fault is a PBAoE Knockdown. Kill the stun, give us Fault!
  7. You could day the ebil part is the deletion of under 500k. In due time, the shortage will make them rise, making them not be worth less than 500k anymore?

    I hope I am getting right that Martial Arts... with punches? I don't care about anything else. I want punchy!

    I expect no snipe, and it to be the "claws" of blasters. Very fast recharging, very clicky. For effects, I could see it having at least immobilizes (knee cap shot).
  11. OK, just to actually be useful. You could use some Dark Blast attacks. Tenebrous Tentacles are very good.

    Empathy early on can pull off "pure support" but as levels go up, your teammates will need to be babysat less and less. Many tanks/scrappers won't even need you, except for extreme situation Fortitude boosts. With a build like that, if you ever team with a Force Field defender you will find yourself not doing much.

    Try to fit in at least 3-4 attacks to keep yourself busy.

    Simple empathy battle plan:

    1. Does a teammate need healing? If he is at 80%, he can wait a while.
    YES: Cast healing power, GO TO 1.
    NO: GO TO 2.

    2. Is Fortitude / Adrenalin Boost/ Recovery Aura/ Regeneration Aura ready?
    YES: Use recharged power. GO TO 1.
    NO: GO TO 3.

    3. Is a teammate dead?
    YES: Revive fallen ally. GO TO 1.
    NO: GO TO 4.

    4. SHOOT SOMETHING IN THE FACE. GO TO 1.

    Number 4 comes up surprisingly often in team, and a lot in good ones. It is always wiser to build for diversity than to shoehorn yourself into one tight role.
  12. In other words, what I'm thinking is happening here is:

    First) Slotting hard caps at 6 x SO++. (Which does not matter today, since ED kills that way before it's even halfway there)

    Second) The respec screen does not apply the ED formula to values, so it's using the full value.

    So the real numbers screen is showing the final accuracy with these incorrect numbers.
  13. My next question would see how the numbers look on a 1.00 accuracy power. See what final value that gives.

    EDIT:
    Theory 2:If the final accuracy is 219%, then each IO is 36.5% instead of the expected 42%. 36.5% is the value of a +2 SO. Maybe powers were hard capped at 6xSO way before time.
  14. One theory is that the respec screen does not kick in the ED values and sends them through as is. In other words, if you go into the game as it, what values would you be looking at? I figured you backed, was just verifying.

    Though they don't add up either way. I must be missing something, it's been a while since I play with these numbers.
  15. That seems to be way too much. Against an even con you're looking at 131% chance to hit from the normal 60% unslotted.

    1.75 = X*0.8 (where X is the accuracy slotted)
    X = 2.19 Which looks like a 6 slotted with no ED factored in.
    EDIT: Actually no, level 50 are not 36%, but more like 42%...

    Does the respec screen take ED into account? Did you try going with it live to see if it changed?

    EDIT 2: Factoring ED, 6 slotted with 50 would be 118% accuracy. Against a 0.8 modifier it should be looking at 95%. Which seems more feasible.

    I'm confused.

    Although this place has a whole lot of min-maxers, I do find it refreshing that the very same mix maxers have no problem giving good advice to people who just don't have it in them to put all the time and influence into pimping their toon into purpled out billion demigods and just want something simple and workable to have fun with.

    I find the lack "be holy like me or suck noob!" mentality a very good quality and I applaud that.

  18. One thing I like about Total Domination is that with Mass Confusion, I can easily alternate both for plenty of total lockdown opportunities. They both have a recharge of 240, which by frankenslotting can be brought down to half of that, using Powerboost/Domination to help with the duration.

    If I had only one total lockdown power, as other sets do, then I would unsure, or keep it as an oh $h*t power. But with Mind, I have it on steady rotation.

    This is my take on it. For example, if you're 7% short on Permadom, and your options are either get a snipe mule, slot it up, OR add three more slots to Hasten, 6 slotted Hasten is not a bad course of action.
  21. With Fire Melee, Fire Sword Circle and Combustion should cause plenty of hate towards you. It also should soften them up so the team can beat up everything fast. So Taunt might not really be needed.
