  1. I just thought of something...

What if lots of people hit him with Stuns that included Absolute Amazement: Chance For To Hit Debuff. That's a 33% chance to give an UNRESISTABLE 7.5% ToHit debuff for 10.25 seconds. As far as I can see, that's the only unresistable granted debuff in the game. I think that would work on him. I tried it in Cosmic Burst against a target dummy in RWZ while using a Power Analyzer mk III to check the stats, and I frequently saw the debuff. In fact I often saw it double stacked for 15% ToHit debuff. And it obviously ignores the level difference because the dummy is level 35 but my Rad/Rad Def is 50. Radiation Infection gave it a -131.63% ToHit debuff because it is level adjusted.

Actually melee types can take Pyre or Blaze Mastery and have around 2/3 of their attack chain be fire damage by spamming Fire Blast and Ring of Fire if they have enough Recharge. Unfortunately squishies don't have the same options, as their epics don't have many attacks.

Also, Resistance debuffs are a VERY VERY VERY good thing. They are more important than doing lots of damage from your own attacks. If you're going to respec for this, Controllers and Doms should take Mace Mastery because of Poisonous Ray. Against Tyrant at +5 it's still going to be a 5.6% Resistance debuff, which means everyone in the league will be doing that much more damage. Tankers and Brutes should take Pyre Mastery for Melt Armor. Similarly Scrappers and Stalkers should take Blaze Mastery for Melt Armor. Blasters should take Munitions Mastery for Surveillance. They're all smaller debuffs than Poisonous Ray, but every little bit helps the entire league.

P.S. Phantom Quark has an Achilles Heel in Radiation Infection.
  3. Count me in.

Phantom Quark, Illusion/Rad Troller, T3 or T4 Seers, Rebirth, Barrier, Degenerative, others.
Lady in Blue, Fire/Kin Troller, T3 Degenerative, Polar Lights, others
I'll be respeccing both for this trial to have Leadership & Tough.
  4. The data in City of Data comes from me, and I only sent them the I23 data last night. I think they're still using the last build I sent them, which was 2240.201204160439.1 (I22) on May 1. Perhaps you were misinterpreting it. On the CoD Hammer of Justice and Energy Smash, only the Knockdown is unresistable. On Beam Sweep only the damage debuff is unresistable. The only unresistable damage comes from the Flow Lightning. You can check again once they update it with my recent data.
  5. When I look at [Hammer of Justice] or [Beam Sweep] in game, they don't say that the damage is unresistable. And based on the size of those effects and the fact that it says Tyrant up top, I'm guessing those are the Tyrant trial versions of the powers.
  6. Makerian got a lot of screenshots of AVs in the Mag trial using his Blaster with Surveillance, and I took a close look at them. The early AVs are no big deal, lots of HP and the level shift but vulnerable to regen and resistance debuffs like regular AVs.

Tyrant had 136,513.34 HP in a trial with 23 players and was a 54+5 AV. He had 100% Regen resistance, which means HE IS COMPLETELY IMMUNE TO REGEN DEBUFFS for the entire final scene. Ditto for Recovery, Recharge Time, and Defense. His base Regen is 0.07% HP/sec or 102 HP/sec. According to Makerian, Degenerative Interface does reduce his max HP and thus his Regen, but no one was using it in the screenhots I got so I can't verify that.

For resistances he had Unyielding and Resist Elements or Resist Energies which gave him around 19% Resistance to most things. He had 0% Psi Resist. Sometimes Unyielding would double stack for another 9% or so. Bruising and Achilles Heel are fully effective at 20% because of the way they work, but other resistance debuffs were resisted as usual due to the level difference. At +6 most debuffs are only 16% (about 1/6) effective. Reactive Interface was 0.38% with no lights.

Below 50% HP he gets Temp Invulnerability which adds 50% Smashing/Lethal Resistance for a total of around 70%. He resists Smashing/Lethal Resistance debuffs by that much as well. With a lot of stacked debuffs, he was at -62% Psi Resistance, -20% Fire/Cold/Energy/Neg/Toxic, but +50% Smashing/Lethal.

Below 50% HP his Regen starts increasing fast. It looks like it scales up linearly from 102 HP/sec at 50% HP to 1365 HP/sec at 10% HP. You need to REALLY crank up the damage at the end to beat his Regen and take him down. Note that Regen always happens in tics of 5%, the rate just determines how long it is between those tics. Near the end I believe he gains 5% HP in 5 seconds.

Now some personal observations from my runs...

Accuracy is VERY important in this. My Illusion/Rad Controller isn't slotted for much Accuracy at all, but she gets a lot from purple and other sets. She was hitting 95% of the time. PA was slotted with about 73% Accuracy, and was only hitting 35% of the time. It doesn't benefit from Tactics or anything else. PA really needs a LOT of Accuracy for this. It's probably worthwhile for me to slot Nerve Core Paragon. My Seer Lore pets were hitting 6.5% or 14% of the time!!! That Nerve Core Paragon is looking better and better as I believe Alpha slotting affects Lore pets, and I'll need Tactics as well for the Lores. Remember Tyrant resists Defense debuffs 100%, and you can't actually slot Lore pets with anything, so they need a lot of +ToHit from the rest of the team or league.

We don't have hardly any Kins in the hardcore Freedom badge community, so we don't have many or sometimes any on the badge runs. My damage bonus sucks. Due to sets I'm at +20%, plus I have Accelerate Metabolism, but in a trial with a single Kin the best I got was around +120% damage. That's simply not enough. We need more Kins.

I die a lot. I'm built to let PA tank, so no Tough or Weave. I need to change that. Between toggle debuffs and PA I can get a lot of agro from the guards, and a sneeze from one of them plus one of Tyrants PBAoEs and I'm dead. The Freedom badge community is light on bubblers, colds, sonics, and therms as well, so I have to rely on the healing around Tyrant. Frequently it's not enough.

Since Tyrant's damage can be buffed by eating his guards, that means it should be possible to debuff his damage as well. Kins are great for this, but Rads and others can help as well, maybe even Paralytic Interface.

People like Ageless Destiny, but a few Kins can easily give you massive Recharge and Recovery buffs. Have I mentioned that we need more Kins? Barrier Radial Epiphany is good for protection and rezzing people. Incandescence Core Epiphany is actually great for the huge Healing bonus it gives you. Those 222 point PBAoE heals become 400 point heals. That's HUGE! Plus it gets everyone together for buffs. Rebirth Core Epiphany is good for extra HP to keep people alive between heals, and squishies really need this.

    Summary...

    Regen debuffs are worthless.
Avoid Smashing/Lethal damage as much as possible.
    PSI damage is best.
At least 1 Tanker for Bruising is highly recommended.
Several Achilles Heel procs are recommended.
At least 2 Bubblers/Colds for Defense.
At least 2 Sonics/Thermals for Resistance.
At least 3 Kins to cap damage & help with END & Recharge.
Everyone running the first 3 Leadership abilities.
    Healing umbrella around Tyrant.
Interface: Degenerative, Reactive, Paralytic, or Cognitive for the Psi DoT.
Destiny: Barrier Radial, Incandescend or Rebirth Core.

Due to Scourge, Corruptors would be great for this. I suspect a league of 4 Psi/Kin, 4 Psi/FF, and 16 Psi/Sonic Corruptors could walk all over Tyrant.

OK, that right there is really game changing. This is the first I've ever heard of a mob with HP that scales based on the trial size. Given the current limit on 16 targets buffed by the lights, that means smaller groups have a better chance at "The Hard Way" when you can benefit from the lights. There's also less lightning, so less chance to get toasted in a group, and less chance that there will be lingering lightning around Tyrant. In fact that alone may be a reason to try "The Really Hard Way" in a small group as well.

I wonder what happens if a group of 24 gets him down to 50% HP, and then half of the group quits. Will he go to 0% HP and you win? If so, I think the devs are going to hate me for pointing it out, because a LOT of people are going to get the badge this weekend.
  8. Add me if possible. Phantom Quark, Illusion/Rad Troller, 53, T4 in everything but Hybrid which is T3, Spiritual, Seers, Reactive, Pyronic, Rebirth, Clarion (not range), Ageless, Assault.
  9. Lichen farming, those were the days. It wasn't easy, believe me, but we did it for the badges. Every run required a Longbow HVAS from Recluse's Victory, or later a Vanguard Heavy for most everyone in the team. That meant defeating the GMs in Recluses Victory or a Ship Raid every night, plus time to actually run the Eden Trial, plus setup. But after that, the Lichens died and died. I think there were originally 4 of us all dual-boxing, then we added some more after we got the 2B Inf badges. Shortly after that it was fixed. Two of the original 4 are gone, and I hardly ever see the remaining person. I haven't seen any of the added people, though not all were gfriends. All of that farming added up to probably under 20B total Inf. That was spread over around 12 accounts and a couple of months. So it seems like the rewards were on par with Death Shaman farming, and not likely to have a significant effect on the total Inf in the game. The MM pet AE farm however seems like it would have a significantly larger effect.

    Cheaters.

At various points in the game history it has been possible to dup stuff. I recall hearing about some PvPers being banned for duping stuff by disconnecting. I think Beefcake got the Bug Hunter badge by finding a base bug that allowed duping. Someone else got Bug Hunter for finding a gleemail duping problem, but that may have been before it went live. So duping has been possible. I wouldn't be surprised if it is still possible. Which means there may be a small population that can print money far faster than the regular population.

A single character can hold 2B Inf, 10 Enhancements, and 30+ Recipes before even taking into account increased storage that you can buy in the Paragon Market. That can be upwards of 15B even after Enhancement Converters drove down the price on ultra-rare items. A base crashing bug could likely dup all of that in a few minutes. Granted other methods of duping would likely be slower or limited to specific classes of items. This is around a thousand times faster than a good farmer.

There have been a number of AE exploits that let people REALLY rake in the Inf. Monkey farming was silly, but I hear level 50 MM pets versus level 1 AVs was even sillier. There are similar exploits outside of AE, like the old snake egg farm, or the AFK Death Shaman farm. Does anyone have any info on the Inf earning rate of any of those?

Its generally a straight forward process to do it.
Because if too many people do what you do, that market would stop working. If the average player found that they could only SELL IT NAO common salvage for 100 Inf in the Market but it always cost them 100K or more to BUY IT NAO, they would stop using the Market. Lower volume means its easier to charge even higher prices due to scarcity, which drives more people away. The way to beat it is with patience, but that's about as rare as common sense. The average player wants a store, not a money mini-game.
  12. I have nearly 2000 purples. I like this plan. I can't quit my day job, but it would be a nice wad of cash.

The data in both City of Data and Mids comes from me. But I can't discuss it on this forum, and I haven't even looked at beta yet. Too busy with RL work.
  14. I wonder if that change could make even an Angel angry?
  15. Enhancement Converters can now be purchased for Hero, Villain, Emp, and Astral Merits. Of course the cheapest purples are now getting close to 200M, and the most expensive are usually under 400M, and the big 3 PvPs are 300-400M. Oh well.

Take some of those claims with a grain of salt. Someone with a total post count of 1 claimed they had made 150 billion. Right. This is the Internet after all. Claims of tens of billions from people who appear to know what they are talking about are perfectly reasonable.

As to losing it, no one really. Enhancement Converters let you spin straw into gold. The price of straw goes up, and the price of gold goes down. But the gold it still gold, and everyone wants it. The Devs are basically giving gold away now to anyone who wants it.
  17. If only there was some way to look at the actual data in the baserecipes.bin file which is compressed and archived within the bin.pigg file. Even if I could do that, I would have to reverse engineer the file format and figure out what all the fields mean. At that point, it would probably be pretty easy to look at the differences before and after Converters went live with Reward Merits, and see if the same changes are being done to the recipes for Alignment and Incarnate merits.

    But that would be wrong.
  18. I better test this then before it goes live, and let them know if they really fixed it this time.

I guess they weren't worried at all about hundreds or thousands of people with massive numbers of Reward Merits from Super Packs doing the same.

Run SSA #1 for 20 Reward Merits, which is 2 Converters. Or run it for 1 Alignment Merit which will probably be 10 Converters whenever the devs get around to fixing them. Hmm... Is 2 greater than or less than 10?

If Enhancement Converters aren't available at all of the vendors after the next patch, I get to start comparing them to the original CoP trial.
  20. As you can see in the patch notes, they fixed the "exploit" about using a level 1 character to get converters via vet reward merits. That is the same file where a "bug" in permissions prevents you from buying Converters from the other 3 vendors. I wouldn't be surprised if Posi came out on April 1 and said, "April Fools, we were lying about making Enhancement Converters available for Emps, Astrals, or Alignment Merits."

I think you vastly underestimate that. I have nearly 5000 virtual Converters myself (almost 500 Alignment Merits), and I doubt if that is a significant percentage of them.

Of course not, why would I refuse? I don't see how anything I said would make you think that.

I have between 0 and 49 Reward Merits on lots of characters. The level 50s run Incarnate stuff for Incarnate rewards, with a rare lower level TF when it's the weekly one. In general they won't earn many or any more Reward Merits, so I'll buy whatever Converters I can using that. I hadn't planned on it, but I will since Alignment Merits aren't an option. That's certainly a better option than doing a random roll.
