How would that help the slowness? Rooted has a higher slow than granite. You need to run one or you're just a tank with 0 mez protection.

  3. Well Double XP weekend is tomorrow and I was considering what to roll for it. I had a peacebringer back in the day and it wasn't so bad but nowadays all I hear is how they're terrible. Can't do anything. Worst class in the game. Waste of time. ETC ETC.

What exactly happened to them? What is so bad about them? I'm just curious because I don't get whats so horrid about them.

And died, and died, and died, and died.

I consulted guides. I burned respecs. I bought IOs. I double, triple, quadruple checked to make sure that I have the right powers, the right slots, the right tactics. For whatever reason, it does not work for me. If I try to fight x4 Arachnos, I die. If I try to fight x4 Malta, I die. If I try to fight x4 Carnies, I die.

Yesterday I respecced one last time, to pick up inherent fitness, and set my difficulty down to +0/x1. And I didn't die, and it wasn't painful, and it wasn't frustrating. I could control groups without worrying too much about scatter. I could clean up enemies quickly. I didn't get crushed under mez or debuffs. I could keep my pets alive. It was nice.

I'm putting this out here to say that if a Warshade (or any character, really) isn't performing the way it's "supposed to", it's okay to turn down the difficulty. There's a lot that's been said about how great Warshades are, and I fully believe that some players can work miracles with them. Some can't. Specifically, I can't. But I can play in a way that is enjoyable. You can leverage numbers with a Warshade. You don't have to in order to enjoy the AT. I think that's worth mentioning.
I had a very similar issue. Unfortunately it wasn't solved even by the lowest difficulty.

Been several years and I haven't. I wasn't kidding when I said the character wasn't at all fun. I've had more fun being griefed.
  6. It's not too surprising. Magazines (especially ones that are for a specialized group) are really losing any purpouse. Actually they haven't had a purpouse in about 10 years. The Internet allows us to get alot of info we used to need magazines for. Comics haven't fallen because collectors want a physical copy, and some people just prefer the comic in their hands. Not really the same for magazines.

I've never really read an issue of wizard.
  7. Confuse has some sort of magic ability to cause your entire team to go and kill the guy with purple dots around his head the second you confuse them. Mass confuse is abit better because they can't kill everything at once....usually.

Apex was fairly poorly designed. It invalidates any set that is slow or has a set up time in battle. Yes your traps MM can still take part but your secondary is mostly worthless. Yes your stone tank can take part but you're probably their worst tank choice and will be the equivilant of taking a stalker back when the LRSF first came out.

Please devs. If you're going to force us to team to do content now, then don't poorly design future incarnate content so that it excludes certain sets. I'll likely never take my stone tank on Apex because I'll be a burden to the team. Teleports activation is too slow when Battle Maiden begins dropping those fire patches that activate in 3 seconds (so considering reaction time I have about .5 seconds to activate TP, select a location, and go there.) And no, turning off granite isn't really an option since granite gives you your mez protection. If you turn it off, you need to turn on rooted (which has a harsher speed debuff than granite) and that would defeat the point of turning off granite.

Talk about CoH pulling an abrupt shift, this one will give you whiplash, trust me. I won't even discuss the "other" competitor.
My point was more that making sweeping changes like this when you have much newer and more known competitors out there is a good way to either lose alot of subs or have your game die.

And if COH is going that way (friendly till 50. Team till actual new level cap. Team to raid) then why would I pick COH over the newer competitors with characters I recognized?

Think of this from a standard new players point of view. Not a die hard 7 year vet who wouldn't quit if they forced us to toil in the coal mines.
  10. There needs to be soloability at the end game. Otherwise, why am I going to keep playing? To keep doing the same old content while you focus on end game stuff?

No thanks. I'd just go to your much newer competitors. I'm not the constant fanboy here who will support you even if you make a decision to send Positron to my house to kick me in the naughty area. You make enough bad decisions and I'll leave. And I assure you that the die hard fanboys are not the majority in this game.
  11. The presents in Praetoria almost seem designed with griefing in mind. I mean, who thought it was honestly a good idea to put a present next to nightstar so that 8 man teams can run by, click it, summon an 8 man spawn of Winter horde and then run off to let the lowbies deal with it/kill anyone training?

Praetoria NEEDS drones. This is a huge oversight. One of my first sights upon returning to the game recently was several level 50 frostlings swarming around Praetor Duncan after some level 50's dragged them there.

But even the drones don't always work. There was some guy a couple days back who dragged the Winter Lord to under Atlas from the present spawn in the park across from the main steps. I guess that was one way to get people to fight him.

Really the biggest problem is the frostlings. Theres really no reason why they should spawn from the Winter Lord at the level of whoever was nearby. Devs, please look into using GM coding for these things next event.
  12. This was my first MMO and I created a handfull and deleted several characters on different servers before settling down. Of the ones that still exist on my home server of Virtue, there are only two that I can trace back from many years ago.

Sakkidatta: Katana/Regen Scrapper. I have barely touched him in years. He was my badger (before I felt badges became unfun) and my first 50. He was a blast to play back in the day. I generally don't play my 50's alot once they hit 50 and Sakki fell to the wayside due to roleplay reasons and just the fact I don't really know how to get back into playing him after so long.

Emily Bower: SS/Inv Brute. I don't know if this is considered "Classic", but I consider it so. I've had her since around mid 06 and she was my first Villain 50. She was a blast to play and was my villain badger back when I cared about badges. She also fell to the wayside due to roleplay issues. I've milled around the idea of playing her again but it's been atleast 3 years since she was seriously played. Invul has changed quite abit since then, she needs a complete respec, and I really don't feel like trying to cobble together IO sets for her. I've been more tempted lately because she was always intended to be a Hero (and was roleplayed as such). Now she can finally go to Paragon, but I'm not sure if I'll ever bother.
  13. I was more shocked to hear DC actually USED the CCA. Things been obsolete for around 30 years.

    * 167.24 of that averaged damage is a DoT over 8.1s.
The damage has a lower bound of 187.68 (0.375% chance)
The damage has an upper bound of 544.29 (37.125% chance)

And let's not even talk about things like Blowback.
    Lets try this.

Stalkers have the most damaging attack in the game that does not come with either a massive recharge or a huge downside.
  15. Warshades. DB/Traps corrs.

    What to try?

I'm most interested in Mind/nrg or Mind/elec. Not entirely sure which to go with.
  17. Paragon/Praetoria. I see people there all the time.

Redside is mostly dead. Has been that way for awhile.
  18. 1. Solo/small team Incarnate content to earn Incarnate items
    2. Free costume pieces (Whats it been, 2 years since the last ones?)
    3. Martial secondary for blasters
    4. More Praetorian zones
    5. More 30-40 content
    6. A TF or SF that non-50's can partake in (particularly a Tf for 20-30 or so. 40-50 has enough.)

    What to try?

So it's been awhile since I've tried a dom. I had a Plant/NRG dom back in the day and took her to around 44 before deciding to delete for reasons of my own. I'm interested in trying a new dom but I have questions on what to try. I don't want to accidently pick some bad/meh combination. Heres the combos I was looking at.

Mind/NRG (Most interested in this. Don't know much about how well they combo.)
    Elec/NRG
    Elec/Fire
    Mind/Fire
    Mind/Elec
    Elec/Psi

I'm just curious of basic opinions on any of these combos.
  20. I have a gravity troller and she does just fine. Was one of my best soloers and the only one of my characters to solo AV's (PRE-IO's)

I don't see whats wrong with the set outside of propel and dimensional shift.
  21. So I roled a DP/EM Blaster a few days ago and he's now 27. I am not entirely familiar with blasters (this is the first to get past 24 that I've had) but I'm not seeing the weak. It may not be the uber blaster but I've had no problems decimating entire spawns with my AOE and cones. This is the highest I've ever got a blaster and I'm quite enjoying it.

I generally just pop BU, hit my aoe and then cone and clean up the few stragglers left. I have bonesmasher and executioners shot to two shot some bosses.

I barely ever use any ammo besides incindeary.
  22. Ninja Stealth. A stealth power but not hide.

I was unaware those were no longer vet rewards. So they aren't hard for people who have been here 5 years. I wonder how hard they are for people who have been here 3 months.

    Fix Praetoria

I think Praetoria needs a fix in regards to enemy difficulty. I'm sorry but the ghouls, the PPD, the resistance, the Destroyers, the Seers, they're all WAY more difficult than the enemies you face at low level in Paragon or the isles with the exception of one or two outlier groups.

The Vahz are generally seen as being the hardest low level group in Paragon. But basically every enemy group in Praetoria seems Vahz hard to me. Not to mention most 1-10 enemies get around 1, maybe 2 attacks in Paragon and around that in the isles. Where as PPD and such have numerous attacks. Clockwork are especially painful (the clockwork bosses to me are far worse than any level 50 groups boss when you compare level ranges. Those things knock my squishies out in about two hits.)

I also feel Praetoria needs some equivilant method of obtaining temp mayhem/safeguard powers as well as a low level taskforce (perhaps a seperate one for both Resistance and Loyalist?)
