  1. What is the opinion of it on Tanks? I'm trying out a WP/KM tank right now. He's pretty nice so far but I'm seeing issues with a tight build. Mainly because I don't know what (if anything) is skippable from KM.

Most of my villains are now "rogue" for that reason. I'd go through all the trouble to make many of them "vigilantes" if I cared that much about getting the label right, but I want them to be based in my Rogue Isles' villain base.
My first villain to 50 was a hero in the isles character. If I still played her at all I'd probably take her to Paragon now.
  3. Well honestly I kinda found going from one side to the other to be a pain but I'm also lazy.

However not all villains in paragon are "villains". Alot might of been rogues who went hero?
  4. Forums exist for discussion be it negative or positive. Not just glowing praise. The devs want feedback, not yes men who think everything is sunshine and roses.

I don't think it's bad to air ones concerns as sometimes they turn out to be true.

DP would be able to solo fine, its got fairly decent single target and AoE damage as well as some mezzing capabilities for troublesome mobs like Sorcerers/Sappers.

If its your first Corr, I'd recommend /Dark or /Rad. They're both very strong, solo capable sets that get their key powers early. They're both very straightforward and wouldn't be overly obnoxious with the redraw from DP.

    Good luck
My DP/Traps (level 27) can barely solo missions set to base difficulty. She usually dies atleast once or twice each mission.

On the flipside my AR/Dark (33) can solo just fine with no trouble. As can my fire/storm (26)

Not really the same but keep telling yourself that.

Needing to run an arc that was actually a major part of the story at the time/=/needing to grind for hours to make an AO.

Theres a difference between locking an area as part of a story and gear gating. For example in LOTRO you could not enter Moria untill you advanced that part of the story. This is not the same as being killed instantly in the watcher raid if you hadn't spent 5 months getting radiance gear.

But really I'm just gonna leave the thread for now. I didn't come to argue with the usual suspects who violently oppose any concern on the game. I came to air out my opinion for the devs to see. That is done. Have fun.

The moment you hit 50, you can go to Ouroboros and run the arc, which takes 30-45 minutes, then go to the RWZ and buy one component with 150 Vangaurd Merits, then run an ITF, which will give you a 2nd component, plus several Shards from the enemies you defeat during it, with a good chance of getting 4 or more Shards from it, which chould take 60-90 minutes, and will allow you to craft the 3rd component you need.
From the moment you hit 50 to getting your first Incarnate enhancement takes less than 3 hours, requires no IOs of any kind, and only needs you to team once.
Then I don't see how these are "our most challenging content ever" if they can be done with a team using nothing but SO's. Since a team purpled out with AO's is obviously going to be alot more powerful It really isn't doable to make it challenging for both yet possible for both, In my opinion.

And your method assumes I'm teaming the entire time.

Again, I really don't care if someone dislikes my opinion. It's my concern that the game is heading toward gear gating.

Issue 19 added the Alpha slot, the Ramiel Incarnate arc, the Apex Task Force, and the Tin Mage Task force as incarnate content.

It also added two new story arcs, added Calvin Scott to flashback, added new alignment missions, three Praetorian zone events, six powersets of alternate power animations, an update to the train system, some additional quality of life additions tot he game (i.e. log to character select), updates to AE components, and inherent fitness.

I'd say roughly 30%-40% of Issue 19 was Incarnate-related, depending on how you want to weigh different content components. However, the *new* thing will always be the main attraction of any Issue. If Issue 22 added a hundred new story arcs, twenty new task forces, updates to Atlas and Galaxy, proliferated SR and Ninjitsu to Tankers, eliminated the pause in door clicks, rebalanced XP curves, normalized merit costs, fixed all the bugged power description text, added a dance emote that replicates the entire Thriller video, and added the ability to shape change, Issue 22 would be the shape-changing issue.

If you're waiting for Issue 25: Nothing New Here, But More of the Stuff You Already Had, I would probably stop waiting.
I'd say roughly 70-80% was incarnate stuff. I don't count "Adding in stuff we took out and mild QOL tweaks" as big content. Sorry. Call me when new TF's come out that aren't gear locked.

I didn't really come here to argue or even complain. I came here to air my concerns about the games future but I have been here for 5 years now and I know that concerns/criticism is generally oppossed. I can't stop what the developers do but I don't see why you would be oppossed to me airing my concerns that the game is going toward gear gate content for anything epic like. (And no, sorry, the random low level arcs are not epic world changing stuff. LGTF, Cimeora, those were.)

Last issues big story world stuff=Incarnate TF.
This issues=Appears to be Incarnate trials.

I just see a pattern. I hope it doesn't keep going like this but I'm not going to keep myself from telling the devs my concerns because the forumites don't like opposition.

Because those were obviously about the main story of the world. So we can expect TF's for Incarnates and two arcs for everyone else that has nothing really to do with the world and are fillers?

    Yay.

There were...like two arcs, some QOL stuff, badges, and filling out Praetoria.

I don't feel it's a far cry to say the main attraction of I19 was incarnates. There wasn't much else to it. And yes, the main story of the game was being told via a TF only Incarnates could really do. So I don't see how "Well...there may be an arc about saving Officer Wincotts cat!" is much reassurance.
  12. I'll probably get flamed for this but it sounds like I20 is going to be Incarnate only stuff...again?

I know it's a neat system and all but I would like some content that my characters that I haven't maxed to 50 5 years ago and then grinded out a bunch of shards and purpled out can do. I really see the incarnate system as little more than the COH version of gear gating content, just not AS bad.

This bothers me because I want to see the story of the game thats unfolding. However I'm getting worried I'm going to miss massive exciting chunks that are "Incarnate only! You must be this overpowered to ride".

Personally I'd prefer adding more to Praetoria but thats me.
  13. Just find a lowbie team running a mayhem when you get to the isles?
  14. I'm personally not all that excited for Incarnate only content.

As for the constant ganking, one might want to remind the ganker, that for the kill to mean anything, they need to wait 5 minutes first.

Best bet, go back to the zone later and hope for a better time.
They may not be required but there is a massive problem when one side (heroes) never have to enter a PVP zone for accolades yet villains do. It doesn't really matter if they aren't required. One side should not be forced into PVP zones if the other side isn't.

If capture the flag and conquest require absolutely no PVP interaction to complete then no they aren't pvp. They may take place while PVP happens but they in and of themselves are not PvP. If we had PVP flags in this game and there was a badge for killing lowbies in Atlas, it wouldn't be a PVE badge just because it was in a PVE zone.

I got all those badges without ever PVPing so I don't see how they can be badges for PVPing if I don't have to PVP to do them and instead have to do PVE content.

It isn't a badge for PVP. Reinforcement is a badge for PVP. Rocket Man and others are badges for doing PVE content the devs short sightedly put in PVP zones because they thought that would somehow spur on PVP.

Okay: code 57. If my memory is correct this problem is caused by Windows update not recognizing that you have a valid service pack installed.

To get around this you will need to install the updated service packs redistributable directly, without using Microsoft Windows Update:

Start with service pack 1 redist: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

After installing that, then install the service pack 2 redist: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

If the redist files do not install, they should generate their own internal error.
    Goody.

An internal error occurred while installing the service pack.

    Error code: 0x80070002. See

So you've got a plethora of things kind of ganging up on you.

1: A load-intensive event (Rikti Raids still put load on your system even if you're nose-in to a wall).
2: Recent changes to the graphical system that make it more graphically intensive.
3: You're running on a card that's really not meant for gaming.
4: You're running on an unpatched (and damaged) copy of Windows.
5: It's unknown what caused the damage. Simple bad luck or possibly a malware infestation.
I'm fairly confused as to why I have problems with COH but not, say, CO, LOTRO, TF2, or L4D2. All of which run smoothly for me.
