It appears all instanced maps are broken, along with a few other things. [edit: This is on Champion server]

- When trying to enter a mission the loading splash screen appears and then nothing happens. The loading bar never moves. Eventually went to Task Manager and stopped the game.

- When trying to enter a base the loading splash screen appears and after 5 to 10 minutes, I was spit back out onto the world map next to the Base Portal. Never did enter the base and the loading bar never moved.

- All global channels are down. Tells still work, though. Sent a few tells to people who were online and they said that the mission bug has been going on for "hours". Not sure what to make of that.

- The Email system is also down. Email tab is available but completely blank when it opens, existing emails are not visible. The "new" button exists but when I click on it the Email box that appears is smaller than I usually have it and it was in a different place than I usually keep it, so the personal settings must have been lost.

I sent in a Petition but so far nobody has contacted me. There isn't much to do right now if I can't enter missions or bases and global channels and emails are down.

Canz we makes armies of Cat Girlz?

Doesn't the Performance Shifter +End proc in Energy Absorption give the enemy +End when it fires.....and does nothing for you? I would suggest slotting a LoTG Defense/End or Defense/End/Recharge IO in there or a End/Recharge from the Shifter set.

Hi All,

I recently purchased an XPS 17 laptop and City of Heroes has been behaiving strangely. About every 10 minutes the screen briefly flashes like another program is attemping to execute and then CoH appears dark and washed out for the next few minutes before returning to its normal vibrant colors. I think this may be related to the Intel Turbo Boost technology. I have turned off Shadows and Ambient Occlusion.

In the Launcher properties I did have to turn on: "Disable Visual Themes" and "Disable Desktop Composition" on the Compatability tab in order to get CoH to run.

Any advice is welcome.

Here is what I am running on my Bots/FF Mastermind. For the most part I tried to maximize the stats of the Bots and as an afterthought I picked up some set bonuses (mainly getting the first two Soulbound set bonuses Twice).

Can you use SG uniform colors to change the color of the cape?

The target of the power gets the +End from the Shifter Proc.

Attack's target = enemy mobs (yes you give end to the mob)
Stamina target = player's toon

I have a couple of suggestions which I hope will help you.

- Unchained Essence and Dark Nova Detonation are two of your most powerful attacks. They are begging you for damage enhancements. Try five Positron Blast in each (not the Damage/Range IO).
- The Miracle Proc only works for 2 minutes after you use the power it is slotted in. I hope you don't use Stygian Return every two minutes. Save some money and use a plain old recharge IO in Stygian Return.
- Inky Aspect is way over slotted. This power only needs the initial slot to hold an Accuracy/Mez Hami IO. I know you are looking for recharge but 2.5% isn't worth four extra slots. I suggest moving two slots into Dwarf Smite and two into Dwarf Strike then you can slot two sets of Crushing Impact for +10% recharge and significantly increase the stats of these two attacks.
- Dwarf heal needs to hit to heal you at all. You need to put one accuracy in this power. You can either slot Crushing Impacts (less heal but better damage) or one Accuracy/Damage Hami IO and five Doctored Wounds (need to find a slot, maybe from Quasar). I prefer the 2nd option.
- Eclipse needs to hit to do any good but at least it can hit multiple targets. You are 11 seconds away from making Eclipse perma and getting Eclipse perma is usually one of the biggest goals of a WS build. At a minimum you want as much Recharge and Resistance as you can get, even if you only slot Resistance/Recharge IO's from different sets. I slotted one Performance Shifter Acc/Recharge, three Resistance/Recharge IO's (Titanium, Aegis, Impervium) and a Resistance IO (from the Impervium set). ED capped recharge and resistance with a touch of accuracy.
- You are already over the Rule of 5 limit on 6.25% recharge enhancements, plus I am suggesting adding two Posi Blast sets. You need change some sets around since you are not getting any benefit from the excess 6.25% recharge bonuses. I don't see any obvious ways right now (without using Purples) since Posi's Blast is the only good damage IO for Targeted AoE's. Maybe move two slots from Gravitic Emanation into Dwarf Mire and upgrade to Obliterations?
- You would get better stats from slotting three Titanium Coatings in Dark Dwarf since they are level 50 IO's, plus you get a few hit points. The only thing you get with three Reactive Armor is a bit of defense but you don't have any other defense to stack with it. Plus Titanium Coatings are much cheaper.

Hope you can use a couple of these suggestions.

Yes, changing to Dwarf can be interrupted. Until you are fully in Dwarf form you don't have the mez protection so your "change into Dwarf" power can be interrupted.

I am getting the same error when I try to select Champion server as well. Tried a couple of other servers and they also return the same error message.

Update: I tried the following and it appears to have helped. Once I used the ipconfig /flushdns the patch ran again (3rd time the game has patched itself today) and now I am able to select Champion server.

Go to your Start menu and type “cmd” (without the quotes) in the Run box to start the command prompt.
Type “ipconfig /flushdns” (again, no quotes) at the prompt and press return.
Close the window.

Redside I mostly have melee types Widow & Brute
Blueside I am much more flexible

I have an Elec/Elec Brute and the only time I have seen Chain Induction fail to jump is when the target dies to the Chain Induction. Example: Use Chain Induction to kill a Warrior and it will not jump to the Warrior next to him. Basically any death directly from the Chain Induction seems to stop it. Chain Induction does enough damage that I use it like a single target attack and the jumps are a nice bonus and aggro grabber.

Great news for Khelds. My WS & PB did not take fitness and now they get them for Free! Whee!

Do I get more bang for my buck by slotting a lvl 50 End Enhancment or Shifter +End Proc into the only slot of Stamina?

Even the location specific ambushes can be difficult to avoid when you have a hostage in tow, unless you don't mind spending an hour watching the hostage take one baby step forward, search around, take another baby step forward, search around.......

I had a mission last night where my lvl 9 Stalker had to lead a Reporter all the way through to the back room of the mission and then I had to lead the Reporter and Hostage all the way back to the mission entrance, all the while fighting mobs and ambushes. Ugh....those two kept getting in each other's way, would only walk forward one step at a time before pausing to searching for me, even when I was standing just a couple of steps away (3-4 feet?). If I went outside of melee range to them they would lose me completely. Progress was sooo slow......

Hide doesn't even recharge fast enough for me to be able to turn it on and off in between spawns with out me standing around and waiting before I can tackle the next spawn.

This is my first try at a Stalker. So far I am unimpressed with the enjoyment factor.
