Here is something that popped into my head while reading the thread about What if I didn't take my ally rez? and made me think. There have been times when I have skipped powers for Theme/RP reasons. Like I have a Grav/Kin that has only 3 kin powers and does not have SB.
So the question. Just how far are you willing to go to keep a character within your roleplay theme? Have you made unplayable characters to stay on theme? Do you feel Theme should take a back seat to effectiveness of the build? With the new options for power customization do you take powers and recolor them to act as other powers for theme (ie Dark/Dark colored red to make a blood mage)?
Just curious.
Yes, I have recolored my powers to fit my character theme. -

I kinda roll bug fixes and pvp changes into the same "PvP is on the back burner for now" line Castle made in a previous post. So answering questions pertaining to any changes (including bug fixes) probably isn't one of their highest priorities unfortunately.
However, I wouldn't mind if they pushed PvP bugs up their priority list as well. -

You can't purchase Gladiator's Armor uniques through merits, but there are ways to get them without using the market. Therefore, if I use those means, they shouldn't factor into the cost of my build, should they, just like you're not factoring in the cost of the expensive IOs you used.
You don't have to agree with me, however i'm Not going to argue with you over a cheap dom build I built myself.

Tokyo admits he would refuse to invite a kin without SB. I doubt he asks every time whether the person has it, so when he finds out they don't, it's likely they get a kick. In my eyes this is wrong, and I won't stay on a team that's run in this manner. We may disagree what a team mentality really is, but I assure you it's not creating a sense of fear that the leader will kick for opinionated whims.
But I have to admit, it's bad practice to advertise as a kin if you don't have SB. As I've already established, I won't care, but far too many people do. You're much better off saying "Defender" or "illusion controller," especially when someone's requesting a kin. -

Unless you're extremely new to CoH, when you roll a KIN, you know when people invite you, they're likely to want the SB. You know, when you put KIN in the LFT Description, or broadcast it looking for a team, or say "Hey I can bring my KIN for the TF" they're expecting you to have SB (for the majority of people anyways).
Now, I'm not saying you have to pick it, but why isn't that part being brought up?
Mind you the same goes for the FF, Cold Doms, Sonic and Thermals who don't say "Hey I skipped my ally buff shields".
Why isn't that being brought up before the team invite? the answer is simple, you're alot less likely to get team invites.
I mean, sure it's a different story, when all they say is I'm a troller or I'm a defender. But when they advertise what they are, they know people are going to be inviting them for a specific reason.
And why the "Lvl 49 KIN Troller lft" when they could just say "Lvl 49 Troller lft" or "Lvl 49 Ice Troller lft".
Mentioning the KIN part means, they're trying to sell themselves on their Secondary. Which makes their arguement "I'm a controller, I control, I don't buff my team" more eye popping as they were selling themselves based on the Secondary to begin with.
NOTE: When I say "you" I don't mean you (Dechs), I'm using you, as a general blanket term for those who do it. Whether you (Dechs) do this I have no idea. But the point I think is valid. -

By that same logic I can softcap you for under <x amount>. I don't count the Gladiator's Armor unique because it's not a set, the build only relies on one and you can easily get one through PvP.

This is not only immature, but ignorant. The lack of SB does not mean the player doesn't have a team mentality, especially when it's a controller.
Likewise, the inclusion of SB does not mean that a player does have a team mentallity.
It may not mean they lack a teaming mentality, but it sure as hell is a good indication that they probably do lack one. -

Seconds later all but the Brute and one other dropped team sending me tells asking to team with me because "He was an A** for doing that, and your a better tank with a corr than he is with a brute" hehe
The moral of the story ~ if you boot for not liking someones build it may backfire on you
