  1. Problem Resolved.

I left my system running overnight. After the 20.5 patch, I was able to make it to character select. When I attempted to log on a character the progress bar made it to 33% and then I would crash to desktop. Tried several times with same result.

Uninstalled and reinstalled again. This time I selected whatever graphics option that was NOT ultra mode. I finally made it in to the game, switched to ultra mode and everything was good.

No clue what happened or why , but I'm back now.

  3. I played last night with no problems. Came home tonight, started CoH and my system froze. After a hard reboot CoH keeps hanging at the Loading... screen. I've updated my video drivers, patched my system, restarted sevearl times and reinstalled the game. It's still hanging at the Loading... screen. Any ideas on what I should try next?

    Thanks!

  4. Good suggestions! I hadn't considered any of them. I'll have to play with them this evening.

And yes, I love the vet helms. I've got a couple characters that were based soley on a "rogue" Arachnos look using that helmet.
  5. It would be handy to be able to set the volume settings from either a slash command or the options file. I tend to keep game volumes relatively low (e.g. 10-15%) unless I'm looking for a glowie. I always listen to music in the background and that gives me a great mix.

Perhaps something like /SetSoundFxVolume # and /SetMusicVolume # where # is a number between 0 and 100. That would allow for macros which could be used to quickly set volume levels as needed.

Alternatively, if these settings were stored in the options.txt file, we could create macros which would let us load files to change the volume as necessary. Granted, this is more hackish, but still workable.

The slash command route would also lend itself well to /mute on|off bindings.

    Thanks!
  6. I have a widow I recently got to 40. My first costume slot (epic archetype) is dark gray and purple. I was planning on creating a red or white version for my alternate build when I hit 40. I never really noticed it before, but it appears that we only get one epic archetype costume slot per character. The other slots limit you to non-epic archetype choices.

I started thinking that your costume slots must be build specific. So, I swapped to my alternate build, changed my epic archetype costume and swapped back to my primary build... Whooops, it doesn't work like I thought! Costume slots are apparently per character, not per build.

Am I missing something? Or are we limited to a single epic archetype costume slot per character? I did some searches, but combinations of epic/costume/veat resulted in a lot of things that weren't relevant.

    Thanks!
