Thanks.
I hadn't spotted the heal bonus, thanks. On the other hand, it only takes the effect of the heal up from 44.3% of your health bar per target to 46.1%. Not sure which way I prefer given your way drops regen by about 6%.
The defence from the cloak doesn't suppress in combat :-) Therefore it provides the same defence as Weave, at a lower end cost and with quite a few goodies thrown in for good measure. (The only downside is that instead of seeing a character you see an amorphous black blob).
Also there's one silly mistake in the build - take kick not boxing. Your hands are full anyway so boxing would probably cause redraw. Also if you're feeling poor, take kick at 30 and 4-slot it at 31. This will allow you four Kinetic Crashes (doesn't matter which - you won't be kicking anyway), providing Mag 4 knockback protection for less than half a million inf. (And having done that you can push Toughness up to L32, finishing off your defences six levels early but pushing Attack Vitals back from L35 to L38).
[/ QUOTE ]
Cool thanks for the advice - I hadn't thought about the kick/boxing difference there.
I guess I didn't go with stealth option because I tried stealth on my Fire/Fire tank in form of a IO but didn't like it so took it out. But as CoD is a toggle it will probably be a lot more flexible!
And thinking about it you probably dont need the boost to Dark Regen - it can be rediculously powerful by itself if you have enough foes around you - so the regen is the better option -
[ QUOTE ]
Wait until you get fully slotted up with some nice pricey IOs, then you'll barely have need for dark consumption and dark regen will be excelent.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dark regen is such a brilliant power - just seeing all those huge green numbers appear when you use it is brilliant!

Tbh I have always been a defender of DM/SR scrappers as best scrappers in game to the point I lvld 2 of them to 50 so I could play one on Union and one on Defiant when I played both servers... until my DM/DA hit the magic 41.
No scrapper is as fun as a DM/DA/DM scrapper, no Sir.-
Plus you don't have to worry much about your cossie
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats one thing that annoys me about my DM/DA scrapper is that you can't see his cossie when fully powered. Although when the Cloak of Darkness isn't running but the others are it kind of looks like the blue on his cossie is glowing. -
[ QUOTE ]
There's loads of different uses for this.
You could have one build with priority on offence, and another with defences prioritised, then choose depending on the team make-up.
You could have one regular build, and another geared for a specific TF/SF or enemy group (e.g. one that sacrifices some damage resists, to increase resistance against end drain).
You could have a PvP and a PvE build.
SOA and Khelds get obvious benefits.
You could have a team focussed and a solo focused build.
You could have a level 50 build and an exemp-friendly build.
If you really wanted, you could have a comedy build where you pick all the 'duff' powers and random power pools just for the hell of it. That could represent your toon's alter ego?
[/ QUOTE ]
I totally agree there - the more I think about it the more it could come in useful. Espcially for toons with a powerset geared towards teaming, it will give them a chance to solo if necessary. I know for me I already have ideas for my second builds:
Black Karhu - Im going swap out Leaping and insert Fly, just so I can finally explore the Shadow Shard!
Tired Angel - Give him a team support build, concentrating on holds etc and healing and less on damage
Shadow Mercury - Give him a "tank" build, concentrating on defense and getting aggro
Apocalyptic Jester - Give her a solo build, means I can skip a couple of powers that aren't any use when soloing -
I really enjoy my DA/DM scrapper - sometimes its nice just to go in and hit things and not have to worry about much else!
Also he is an excellent light show - put on Cloak of Darkness then hit Dark Regeneration, Dark Consumption and Soul Drain. You become this dark cloud that glows black, then green, then blue and then white
Plus Dark Regeneration and Dark Consumption make such a brilliant duo panic button -
I would have assumed that if you complete a story arc as a team then everyone in the team would get a merit(s) in the same way that everyone in the team would get the badge for completing a certain mission.

Hey Para
Im no expert but you build looks really well put together! A lot better than mine
The only thing I can think to comment on is why not put a 4th Numina's in your health. If you put the Health/Endurance one you only loose 5% regen, which is already massive at 300+ percent, that way you will get a 6% increase to your heal power, Dark Regeneration.
Just a thought though.
Also Cloak of Darkness seems a bit situational but if you shifted things around you could have weave and you could get the defense bonus. -
Ive decided to drop the teleport - concentrate on jumping, bring in fighting and try not to over slot the toggles (looking at the numbers the 3rd IOs werent making much difference). The endurance consumption isn't to bad. Ive I think I may have overslotted accuracy to overcompenstate to getting rid of leadership. Please let me know what you think.

Thats brilliant Shannon - thanks for all the advice
I know what you mean about wanting a lot by lvl 10 with DA and have found that myself. I had forgotten about KB protection entirely, so thank you for reminding me.
I will definitely have a look at what each slot gives me - its something Ive never really done before but how you describe it it would save me a lot of wasted slots.
I was going to drop focussed accuracy when I saw the amount of endurance it costs, so will probably get rid of it as you suggest as I only really do PvE.
I think I will definitely go and have another play around with you've said once Im home from work. Thanks again -
From what someone in my SG said - 'think I'm starting to suffer from digital S.A.D.'
Although IMO the event seems to have gone on a bit to long this year its been very fun! Thanks Devs -
This is the build i kind of fumbled together - let me know what you think

Hi everyone
Ive started leveling a Dark Armour/Dual Blade tank and am a little confused as to what to do with her! I decided to go with these sets because I really liked how DA worked on my scrapper so wanted to try it on a tank, and Ive always wanted to try a DB set since they came out.
I think I am a little lost as to what DB attacks to take, so far I have thought of thse ones:
Nimble Slash
Ablating Strike
Typhoons Edge
Blinding Feint
Vengeful Slice
Sweeping Strike
Taunt
Which gives me the combos Weaken, Empower and Attack Vitals. However this seems like a lot of attacks for a tank but wanted to maek sure I didn't lose out on at least one high damage attack but still have a combo for it.
I thought I would balance out the number of attacks by not taking any of the epic pool attacks and just take Conserve Power and Focused Accuracy from the Energy Mastery pool. Conserve power would also be useful because from my experience DA is very endurance heavy and I'm currently planning on taking these from there:
Death Shroud
Dark Embrace
Murky Cloud
Obsidian Shield
Dark Regeneration
Cloak of Fear
Soul Transfer
The other powers Im taking are Swift, Health and Stamina and also Teleport Friend and Teleport (Teleport fits best concept wise).
This still leaves me with 3 powers I can take (if ive counted correctly) and Im not sure what to do with them. I was thinking Punch, Tough and Weave but this toon will already be very toggle and endurance heavy and do I really want to have more?
Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated - Im at work at the moment so dont dont have access to the hero designer but will try and post the build I was at least considering later on
Thanks very much! -

So like Blind then?
I'd love a god-mode for Dark Armour. Something that turns you into a smoking Avatar of the Darkness or something for a short period of time.

Doh! I meant to say ranged "group" hold/immobilize - one thing that puts me off with flash is that its not ranged. -
Ive got a few:
Dark Melee - a PBAoE attack that is damaged focused rather than a bit of damage plus effect
Firey Aura - a power to increase defense and KB protection
Illusion Control - a ranged group immobilize power or ranged group hold power
Mind Control - a pet power (e.g. psychic form or something)
Editied to add in Group to the illusion control suggestion -

[/ QUOTE ]
I would think so - with every other toon punching a hole in time just to have a short cut to Talos something has got to give.
And then there are the guys from the Portal Corps constantly punching holes between dimensions just to allow heroes to go kick some Praetorian butt.
AND there is a dimension full of Werewolves, so why not a dimension full of Zombies? So if the fabric of the multi-universe is falling to pieces (and I'm pretty sure I have saved it once already!) then it could well be that the Zombie dimension is overlapping ours.
However this explanation does rely on the whole idea that it is highly coincidental that the dimension that is overlapping ours is a Zombie one and that it seemed to happen around Halloween. -

Interesting choices and I like the idea of multiple damage types, however if anything with the sleep, fear, knockback etc. and the different damage options, this would perhaps need some tinkering as the resulting toon may be too powerful.
PS Hiya BK
[/ QUOTE ]
Heya NH
Thanks for the feedback - I can definitely see your point about the status effects maybe making things over powered.
I put sleep instead of -endurance on the snipe so it wasn't just a carbon copy of the Electric blast snipe. Also the fear aspect of Heart of the Storm was inspired by tornado from Storm Summoning.
I think the knockback on the first few powers is ok as that just matches the sonic/power set but definitely limit the secondary aspects of the later powers to just one or two -
Hi everyone - bored again at work and was thinking about another new powerset. This time its a new blaster powerset which was inspired by one of my fav sets 'Storm Summoning'. Its been influenced by that along with Sonic, Ice, Electric, Power and Fire blaster sets. Thought it would be interesting to have a powerset that did multiple damage types. I did a search and couldnt find anything similar posted before but if it has sorry! Let me know what you think
Weather Blast
You can control the weather around you to unleash an array of powerful ranged attacks.
1 - Wind Bolt
Ranged, Minor Damage (Smashing), Foe Knockdown
You unleash a small but concentrated bolt of wind causing minor damage and may knock your foe to the floor.
2 - Wind Blast
Ranged, Moderate Damage (Smashing), Foe Knockback
You attack your foe with a concentrated blast of wind that will send them flying. This attack does more damage that Wind Bolt but has a longer recharge time.
3 - Thunder Blast
Ranged Cone, Moderate Damage (Smashing/Energy), Foe Knockback
You clap your hands together and unleash a mighty Thunder Blast hitting all foes in a cone in front of you. The force of the blast is enough to send them flying.
4 - Hail
Ranged TAoE, Moderate Damage over Time (Smashing/Ice), Foe Knockdown, Foe -Speed
You summon a hail storm at a targeted location. However these arent small hailstones but are ones the size of your fist that will knock foes to the floor and slow there movement speed.
5 - Aim
6 - Storm Clouds
Ranged TAoE, Moderate Damage over Time (Smashing/Energy/Ice), Foe -Speed, -Recharge, -Defence
You summon several storm clouds at a targeted location. These storm clouds unleash strong winds, hail, thunder and lightening on all foes in the targeted area which causes reduced speed, recharge and defence.
7 - Sunbeam
Ranged, High Damage (Fire), Foe -Accuracy
You are able to focus the power of the sun into a focused beam which you can target at your foes. The targeted foe will be hit for high damage and will be burned and set ablaze. In addition the target and any nearby foes have a chance to have there accuracy reduced due to brightness of the attack.
8 - Lightening Charge
Sniper, Extreme Damage (Energy), Foe Sleep
You can focus yourself and channel a powerful lightening blast that can travel great distances and has a high accuracy. However, because it takes a few moments to focus it is best done at a distance as it can be interrupted. The power of the lightening blast is enough to leave a foe in shock for a short period, however if the foe is attacked then the energy will dissipate and they will be able to function again.
9 - Heart of the Storm
PBAoE, Extreme Damage over Time (Smashing/Ice/Energy), Foe Fear, Foe Knockdown, Foe -Speed, Self -Recovery
You muster all your strength to summon a huge storm, with you at the centre. The storm rages for a brief time and causes major damage to all those caught in it, although the damage will vary from foe to foe. The sheer force of the storm is enough to knock foes to the floor and reduce their movement speed and is such a frightening experience will leave them cowering in fear for a short time afterwards. The sheer effort of maintaining such a storm, however, will leave you drained and unable to recover endurance for a short while. -
Well Ive just had another case of the flying wolves:

I was going to say, actually. Sounds more like a con-scrapper idea...which is quite cool.
Knocking the stars outta the mobs in a whirling melee of madnessI personally think its a cool idea.

Sounds like a pretty good set, at least once its been tweaked a little for balance. It would have to be a completely new set though, as the mace animations just wouldn't fit or do justice to the set. Plus, Staff is more likely to be aimed at scrappers than any other AT (although, now I come to think of it, how about adapting it as a different type of troller set, for variety)

I was thinking more of scrappers when I was thinking of it, but when I was looking at the other sets Confront/Taunt are in the same place so put it there. Thinking it could work for stalkers as well, as they are meant to be quick - imagine emerging from the Shadows in a spinning circle of pain!
And definitely yes for its own animations - I think the mace ones are to sluggish and 'mace' like. The videos from sorudo and xemulas showed how it should be!
Oh and thanks for the positive feedback
Edit - after being inspired this is what ive come up with for a Staff Control set:
Staff Control
You have a mastery over the staff that allows you to use it as a tool to disable your foes and protect yourself and your allies. Although you may not cause that much damage you are still a force to be feared.
1 - Knee Breaker
Melee, Minor Damage (Smashing), Foe Immobilize
Your mastery over the staff allows you to hit your foe in the knee (or equivalent) making them unable to walk. Flying and stronger foes wont be immobilized but the pain caused by this strike will slow their movement speed for a short while.
2 - Wind Stealer
Melee, Minor Damage (Smashing), Foe Hold
You strike your foe in such a way it will leave them winded. They are held while they desperately try to catch their breath. You are even able to strike machines in such a way that will leave them held. Stronger foes may not be held but the the pain caused by this strike will their movement speed for a short while.
3 - Leg Sweep
Melee, Moderate Damage (Smashing), Foe Knockdown
You sweep the legs from under your foe, knocking them to ground and injuring them.
4 - Staff as a Shield
Toggle: Self, +Defence (Melee, Range), +Resistance (all but Psionic)
Your staff is an extension of yourself and with your great awareness of the environment around you, you are able to deflect attacks. Even if you dont entirely deflect the whole of the attack you will reduce the damage it will cause.
5 - Spinning Head Smash
PBAoE Melee, Foe Minor Damage (Smashing), For Disorientate
You leap and spin with your staff to hit all foes within melee range around the head (or equivalent). The force of the blow is enough to leave the foes hit disorientated.
6 - Staff as a Group Shield => [[censored] name I know but couldnt think of anything else)
Toggle: PBAoE, +Defence (Melee, Range), +Resistance (all but Psionic)
Your speed and mastery of the staff allows you to protect your allies by deflecting attacks targeted at them. Even if you dont entirely deflect the whole of the attack you will reduce the damage it will cause. This power does not affect yourself and has a short AoE.
7 - Spinning Fury
Melee (Cone), Moderate Damage (Smashing), Foe Knockback, Foe Disorientate
You sweep your staff in front of you with enough power to send all foes in a large cone in front of you flying. The force behind this attack may also leave foes disorientated.
8 - Display of Skill
PBAoE Melee, Foe Fear
You show your true skill with your staff giving a brief, yet breath taking, display. This display of skill may be enough to cause your foes to cower in fear.
9 - Disciple
Summon Disciple, Special
Your mastery of the staff has attracted a disciple who trains under you to learn your skills. Although you do not control your Disciple directly he will fight by your side and try his/her best to stay near you. The Disciple has access to the Knee Breaker, Wind Stealer, Staff as a Shield and Leg Sweep powers.
