    Total lockdown?

If most AoE holds have a max of 16 then a 'troller with /TA can technically hold up 32 foes with two attacks, the main powerset AoE hold and EMP arrow. Slot each of those with a chance of +2 hold proc from Lockdown you could technically hold bosses in large spawns with one shot as well.

But that circumstance is a bit hypothetical!

  4. I think the whole necromancy thing is hard to pin down because of the whole respect for the dead thing, there being a cultural thing of not disturbing dead bodies and letting peoples souls rest in peace. It could be seen as different to demon binding because Souls are essentially seen as good things and binding a soul is enslaving another person to do your biding. But then again Demons, although evil, are still sentient (well I assumed they are, but even if they're not what about those who think enslaving animals are evil - demons could be seen as a kind of animal) so it is still a bit evil to bind one to do good (same with dark servant). But then there is the whole shades of grey, interpretations of good and evil argument!

[Ok the above paragraph grew from one sentence to a bit a ramble when I typed it]

From a RP point of view I guess good necromancy could be explained by:
    * Reanimation of corpses doesn't involve souls (as someone mentioned earlier on) and a cultural view point that only a person's soul is important in terms of who they are etc. so a dead body means nothing
    * Using only willing souls to bind to bodies etc. An example of this would be a very old hero called Green Lama who summoned the souls of dead heroes to fight evil.

Another thing I thought about in terms of mercs doing good is in terms of the Hero Corps. They are an organisation that sells heroes abilities to rich and wealthy. They are doing good work but for selfish reasons. A couple of my toons have backgrounds as mercs who work for the Hero Corps but as part of their backstory they work better as Corruptors rather than Blaster/Defender (AR/Devices and TA/Arch becoming Dual Pistols/Traps and Arch/TA).

  8. Hey Neo!

Not overly familiar with Rad at higher levels as my Rad's are still low, but do know my stuff about Gravity!

These are just thoughts and so feel free to ignore them:
    * Possibly swap the Enfeebled Operation in Crushing Field to Trap of the Hunter. My logic here is two fold. TotH gives you ranged defence bonus, and Grav/* is very much a ranged set and */Rad can be (particularly if you are taking Choking Cloud late and if you use Hover to keep out of melee range). TotH also has the Chance of Damage Proc which makes it much more spamable as without it is just a so/so power because of the lack of damage and damage type.
    * Dropping the Chance of damage Proc from Gravity Distortion field for the +2 Mag Hold from Lockdown. You will lose the Toxic resistance but that is a rare damage, also from my experience that extra chance of hold is more beneficial (as you can hold entire mobs including bosses in one shot!) than a slim chance of damage in a power with a long recharge.
    * Dropping the Chance of ToHit debuff proc from Wormhole and replace it with a plain Range IO. Again you lose the Toxic resistance but Wormhole is much more effective with that extra range as it gives you more flexibility to tp foes into corner while you are out of their line of sight.
    * Lingering Radiation - change the Damage/Slow to an Accuracy/Slow as the power doesn't cause damage.
    * Drop Dimensional Shift - because it is AoE it isn't as useful in trapping that one annoying Lt while you pick of the rest and can really annoy teams. Maybe bring Choking Cloud into its place instead rather than leaving it to 49.
    * Maybe take manuevers in its place to give you a bit of defence boost and make up for some of the lost defence in melee that I suggested from swapping the sets in Crushing field. It is also affected by power boost you get a significant defence boost from it (5% unslotted). You can also then slot it with Defence/End, Defence/End/Recharge and the global recharge from luck of the gambler set. With conserve power the end cost is minimal and power boost it gives you a +7% defence bonus

This is what it will look like with my suggestions:

hehe - the version on the BDSM flag also looks vaguely like the three tadpoles symbols of the Budhist group in Rankin's book Apocalypse the musical

You are right about the BDSM one

    BDSM Flag

Although it is sometimes just represented through the black blue lines

The other one is actually the bisexual flag

    Bisexual Flag

The transgendered flag is actually slightly different - it is a light blue and pink with a white line in the middle

    Transgendered flag

    Got it in one!
  14. I've got a few Angel type characters and I generally go the the elemental, control of nature type thing. So far Ive got:

Tired Angel (Defiant) - Grav/Storm 'troller
Tired Angel (Union) - Earth/Electric Dominator
    Angel's Ghost - Storm/Dark 'fender
    Tortured Angel - Fire/Storm Corruptor
    Tired Angel's Return - Cold/Electric 'fender
Hell's Angel Uriel - currently Zombie/Storm MM but will be rerolled as Zombie/Thermal come I16

Most my angel's (bar Angel's Ghost) are various incarnations of Uriel with different back stories.
  15. I think this is turning into one of these situations depending on what you initial assumptions on OPs post.

Either you believe them that their friend was harrassed in some way by the LGBT community of Victory or you believe that the OPs friend was being a bit of jerk to stir it all off. Or there is magic option number 3 which lies in the middle somewhere.

I think we can't really prove any of these situations but I personally feel:
    a) Harrassment is bad - people shouldn't try and chase people out of servers for whatever reason, unofficial community or not
    b) Bigitory is bad - attacking someone because of their sexual preferrence, race, gender, choice of chocolate bar should not be condoned at all
    c) Unofficial communities are neither good or bad as long as they don't lead to a or b
    d) We are hear to have fun, kick butt and hope I16 is as good as it seems to be

Anyway, just my pennies worth (or however amount the exchange rate turns that into in American dollars) over the subject

Us bears have our own flag (see Avatar) and generally on the larger side of life

It seems he was approached by several someones and was told that Victory server is the Un-Official gay server. Unfortunatly my friend ended up in a bad mix up of opinions and he was told that if he didn't openly accept homosexuality he should find another server.
My question is when did the creators of this game make the server I was on an Un-official gay server? And why are there groups of people telling others that if they are not "like minded", if you will, that they should move onto another server?
Why this sort of behavior is allowed?
I would assume my friend is not the first and nor will be the last in this matter.
Im not a NA player so can't really comment what servers are what in terms of un-official communities.

But think about it - if you have been playing that server and you haven't encountered anything like that then its probably someone just trying to cause trouble (whether they are gay or not they sound like an bit of an i***t). And there is a gay supergroup thread in the EU lounge which some of our NA cousins have joined in on and none of them have mentioned anything about Victory being the unofficial gay server which makes me think even more that person is being a twit!

As others have said the creators don't make servers specific for any particularly communities (bar the German and French servers on EU side) its the players that do this and that kind of behaviour is unacceptable and your friend should /petition them! I'm gay myself and think its unacceptable for someone to take it upon themselves to police other peoples' opinions.

And I don't want to sound like I'm trying to stir but apart from the harrassment point (which is unaccetable) what would be the problem of playing on a unofficial gay server if everyone just gets along and just enjoys playing the game?

    Yeah you're definitely right!

I think my head was just in the place that with the toon I mentioned I had been playing in a themed 'Knights' team and part of the make up of having a kin was to help with the End problems that some scrappers/tanks have pre-stamina if they are toggle heavy.

I think I will have to figure out a way to optimise the way I SB. I would try the numpad method but I'm left handed so its easier for me to have the numpad set up in a different way.

I recognize that when people say "that is so gay" they may not realize that the term is offensive to some people, but when I tell them that I find it offensive, I expect them to stop. I used to be in the bad habit of referring to things I found dumb as "retarded" but after being informed that this was indeed still a term that people found offensive (in this case it was by a friend that had a mentally challenged sibling) I now try very hard to refrain from using that word.

To be honest, personally, people calling something gay doesn't really bother me, but I will continue to inform people that I would rather they not use that term. Why? Because there might be someone out there who is gay and is closeted or simply not out to the people involved and every time they hear the term gay used in a derogatory manner it makes it that much harder for them to come out to those people. If the people are using gay in a derogatory way because they believe being gay is wrong, then the "it doesn't mean homosexual" argument holds no weight. If they have no problem with a person's sexual orientation, then using the term gay in derogatory manner sends the wrong message to their potentially closeted friends and acquaintences and should still be avoided. I think that it gets us nowhere if we simply allow these words to go by unaddressed. I will always ask people to stop because there might be someone out there for whom it will make a difference.

I just can't envision any situation where I think using the term "gay" in a derogatory manner would be okay since you can't be certain of a person's sexual orientation.
    Well put!

I could see it for Teleport, but the other 3 wouldn't work from a canon lore standpoint.

The war walls are there to keep the Rikti out, if a hero could just zip right through them, obviously the Rikti could do the same, making the war walls pretty useless. They also have a ceiling, to prevent aerial attacks (the Rikti hack in and shut the walls down during invasions)

I could see this as an option for PI/Talos/Croatoa/Striga, but in the main city zones it wouldn't make much sense.

I don't have any major beef with the idea, I just think it would be unlikely based on the fact that it would make the war walls redundant (which really only exist to keep the zones managable sizes anyway)

They could remove the war walls entirely and add some countryside between zones, but then you'd have the problem of a Rikti raid in Talos causing lag in Atlas, because it would effectively all be one zone.

So, neat idea, don't have a problem with it, but I just don't see it happening.
I can see what you're saying about the War Walls but there are also gates between the zones which characters use. I would just assume they would use those, just very quickly!

So I would say /signed particularly as the only reason I tend to log out at Wentworths at the moment is for the TP power which allows some limited interzonal travel without having to use the Ourb portal.

Isn't Siphon Speed similar to Speed Boost, but it gives a speed boost to everyone within range of target? I have seen my toon move real fast with Siphon Speed.
Nope - Siphon Speed only affects you and doesn't provide any recovery buff.

Ive recently started playing a Kin/Arch and will admit I dont remember to keep SB up all the time, I try and reapply in between fights when I can or Ive noticed that particular toons are running low of Endurance. During a fight I think I get 'defender lock' that Im more worried about getting my heal, siphon power etc out as much as possible along with the odd attack. Now I have transfusion (just hit lvl 26) I see myself SBing during battle less and using that to recover a teams End and concentrate on SB when between battles.

  25. I play 75% on Defiant where currently I have only heroes (bar a couple of Villains on my new second account) and the other 25% is on Union where I currently have only villains.

I can't play on the two other EU servers as my French is terrible and my German is even worse!
