  1. Genocide or not - I think it would be cool if their was a new hazard zone (or two) that took place on the Rikti homeworld with its own TF

Or we could always send in the Fire/Kin trollers to farm the planet to death!

No trials laid out, no road travelled, just a different door leading to the zone. Yeah, that would fit better (and has happened to me as well twice over time when on my Brute with 7 heroes shouting in bc 'lf1 more for ITF', ignoring the vills around..)
I have qualms about teaming villains with heroes even now in the RWZ and on a ITF. In fact I think it adds a bit more variety!

And to be honest, when playing with my SG, I think it makes it more fun because we are constantly having silly back and forths! I remember one time I kept on blaming the my friend's */rad corruptor when I faceplanted because he just wanted to keep blowing me up with Fallout

I think if people start being snobbish about it all I think its their loss!

I can see what you mean there because at some times I think it is such a brilliant set and others I just get extremely frustrated. I got my Mind/TA/Fire controller to 50 recently and found TA to be such a brilliant secondary for a controller because it makes you even more 'controlly' and adds in some nice debuffs and oil slick for damage!

Ive tried a couple of TA/* defenders but just got annoyed and deleting them before I could get to decent level because I just felt a bit 'subpar'

Personally I think because TA doesn't bloom until later levels which can be a frustrating point about the set.
  4. I will say I use Disruption Arrow a lot on my Mind/TA 'troller.

With the non-agro mass sleep power you can sleep all the foes, fire oil slick arrow, fire disruption arrow (which won't wake them up like acid arrow will) at a leisurely pace and then BURN BABY BURN!

Im assuming it is both sets of servers because they say all players and after the 'hiccup' from the I16 open beta announcment I can't see them making the same mistake. Plus they are listing the European timings for it.
  6. I will admit it doesn't affect me that much overall because I work 9-5, Monday-Friday, but reading how badly it is affecting those in Australia and Asia it is a bit bad.

I also kind of think the choice of days is a bit rubbish as well making it a Friday and Monday. I know if I take a long weekend just to relax it will be Monday and Friday I take off so being booted off just around the time I will be starting to play is a pain!

Also does this mean in the long run things like double xp weekends and events won't be starting till mid afternoon for EU players? I know that will be annoying for those that like to take time off to have some extra play time because rather than getting an extra full day on the Friday they will only get half a day and would have to take the Monday off as well to get that extra time back.
  7. Personally I went Gravity/Storm. As a team controller it takes a lot of practice, mainly because of the knockback portion of Storm can be problematic until you've had practice using it.

However Crushing Field and Freezing Rain are a good combo because, unlike other AoE immobilizes, it doesn't make foes resistant to knockback effects. So they will be stuck in Freezing Rain's AoE.

Storm can also provide some nice extra damage (tornado, lightening storm), a bonus to a team's defence and resistance (steamy mist), some to -tohit (hurricane) and a -recharge toggle (snow storm). There is also an okayish heal (O2 boost).

For the most part it also allows you to stay at mostly ranged (except for Thunder Clap) which is one of the plus sides of Gravity Control.

Another recommendation I would suggest is Trick Arrow because it provides a nice mix of debuffs and extra control. Also Crushing Field, Disruption Arrow and Oil Slick would be a good combo because of reasons for CF and FR. It also allows you to stay ranged as well.

Apart from those two there aren't really any sets that really don't gel with Gravity Control from what I can tell. I think the only thing to keep in mind is that one of bonuses of Grav is that it is completely ranged (as I said above) so sets that require you to be in melee kind of negate that (e.g. Kinetics)

EDIT - but saying that Kinetics may be a good choice because it will boost your damage output which is useful to counter act Gravs resisted damage type (crushing)

    Screenies

There is a different printscreen button which you can set in that will show the UI in the screenshot. You can set it by going to keyboard commands in the options window.
  9. I know my Dark Armour scrapper can't wait to get this power!

    Cure my alti?sm

Ive got 5 50s and nearing my 6th and I feel I suffer from chronic altism (I have no more character slots left on my home server Defiant, half a server full on Union and half a dozen more on my second account on Defiant).

I will admit my 50s get less play time than my leveling toons and although I would consider my main as Tired Angel (my forum name and global) I generally only break out my 50s when a team is looking for something specific or (until recently that is) to help make up mentors with mentor tetris. I will occasionally play them if I fancy a change. I just find it exciting earning new powers and learning how to use them. I have even, for the most part, not doubled up on powersets so I can try everything!

As for something for you to try I would recommend maybe a Fire/Rad Controller. I suggest this because the combo of Fire and Rad can do a lot of damage, it also allows you to be useful because of the debuffs and versitile because of the mix of control, debuffs and damage.

I think the only thing that it can't do is take a hit although you do get a heal and the control and debuffs can help stop things hitting you in the first place.
  11. TK is a hard power to learn and harder to master in my opinion and I will happily admit I haven't (yet) on my Mind Controller.

Its very good if you have a corner you can group them into as otherwise the repel can actually push foes out of the field of effect.

There are some YouTube videos which try and teach you how to use it but Im at work at the moment so can't look them up, sorry!

If you wanted to experiment with it you could always take the power at lvl 49, slot it with two endurance reductions and that frees up two slots for other powers right at the end.

    WoC

Ive just got my Sonic/MM/Electric to 50 and have actually found WoC to be quite useful and thats just slotting it with some mid level IOs and higher lvl SOs.

Until I just did my lvl 50 respec (I plan on 5 slotting the Confuse Purple set) I just had a couple of accuracy, a confuse and a endurance reduction and to be honest I noticed the confuse affect foes more offten than not.

This could be just my perception though but because Sonic/MM lends itself to shorter range heavy cone attacks (I have 5 including my Epic!) then the odd foe sneaking into melee range happens often and they usually dont get off more than just one attack (if that) before getting confused and running off or just stop attacking!

My only gripe with the power is that detoggles when mezzed!

But again thats just my perception!
  13. Ive noticed that mugging victims are getting pushed to the floor now after you attack the muggers

    Defiant Heroes

    Hero Name: Tired Angel

    Hero Picture: Picture one
    Picture two
    Picture three

    Super Group: GGRRR

    Archetype: Controller

    Badge Count: 200ish

    Primary Power Set: Gravity Control

    Secondary Power Set: Storm Summoning

    Battle Cry: For the soul!

Character Description: “I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour, but heaven knows I am miserable now. ‘You’ve been in the house to long’ they said and I, naturally, fledexternal image. You may know me as Tired Angel but I was once called Uriel, the angel of the sun, the fourth Archangel. I am thousands of years old and am recorded in many of mankind’s stories. I went to Noah and warned him of the flood, I checked the doors of Egypt for lamps blood during the plagues. But as Heaven’s influence on the world below diminished I became tired of everything, tired of the clouds and the endless playing of harps. So I turned to drink and fell in with the daughter of men but such behaviour is not befitting of an Angel. And so I was cast out, cast from Heaven. And so I am now on Earth a world of heroes and villains finding a place for myself. They say every time a bell rings an Angel gets his wings – that’s crap – it takes at least 15 months.”
Thanks to Night Horney for helping develop TAs origin in the GGRRR comic
  15. I think everyone has answered your questions already but here are a couple of links I use when trying to organise a Task Force/Trial for my SG:

The various trials both villain and hero

    All the task forces

    All the strike forces

They list all the levels and rewards etc. I would think there have been a few added while you've been away

Edit - Oh and I totally agree with what you say about TFs being generally harder than arcs. I remember doing the Positron TF a little while ago on a team made up of all lvl 10s bar one 15. Took us two nights to finish but was definitely a challenge because of the mix of mobs and the automatic spawning of lvl 15s because it is a named TF!

Definitely - was playing Defiant EU side the day of release. We had a our regular Tues night radio session dance party in Atlas park and everyone bought along their toons with big bubble effects (i.e. Sonics and Forcefield). Everyone had gone for some funky colour customisations which was brilliant

Ive customised some of my 'trollers so far, not all of them yet though. My Grav/Storm I have just customised his powers to match his costume more than anything else (although his original cossie has classic powers). I really like how Steamy Mist and Hurricane look customised and how Singularity looks

My Mind/TA has just had his Mind powers tinted to match his costume which is subtle but effective. Shame I could customise some of his arrow effects to do the same (e.g. blue flames on oil slick!)

My Illusion/FF I have only very quickly played around with (for the dance party) but that is going to be blast to do!

Not sure what I am going to do with my Plant/Kin, Fire/Thermal or Earth/Rad yet. Although my Earth/Rad is a kitten character with Radioactive kitty litter so may use the lava effects with that!

I have rolled an Ice/Cold controller which I like the look of in terms of the build I played around with. I made her colours a turquoise/green shade which I like the took of.

I have also rolled a Grav/Sonic controller whos concept is that he is an ex-raver so his powers are all a mix of blues and pinks. I will admit I love the look of the big sonic bubble when its got two opposite shades. Oh his singularity is going to be his disco ball

When is there ever going to be a content upgrade? The biggest issue is the level cap. It has been 50 for waaaaaaay to long. At this point, it should jump up to 70. They also need to add at least 2 new maps for each mission flavor (i.e. office, warehouse, etc.). I really do not care that my blaster can now blast in blue and black. I would much rather have some major new content introduced. Simply allowing you to switch sides and play the content that has been around for 4+ years is, well, lazy at best...and we are supposed to buy this as an expansion? Maybe I am way off base here but they really need to get content and get it soon. In the next 24 months, there will be some really amazing MMOs released (no, not talking about Champions whose graphics are annoying at best and actually ripped sounds straight from CoX).

    C'mon...where is level 70?
I think you are wrong there - from my understanding there are going to be several new zones and new content to along with those zones. Along with at least two new powersets and possibly loads of other unanncounced content (seen the 5th running around the streets of Paragon again?? They can't just introduce those and just forget about them!)

Remember this is a PAID expansion so is going to be on par with the CoV launch if not more. So there will be new starting zones and potentially new content ranging from 1-50.

And I have to disagree with you about the level cap - 50 is fine by me. And there is talk that there will be Difficult tasks for level 50s to do that make them more powerful, although we dont know what that entails. But it sounds like more end game content.

But really there has just been SO little announced about going rogue that we cannot judge either way about how good/bad this issue is going to be.
  18. Actually Ive just noticed the option only comes up if you have changed something, until you do it doesn't give you the option, and thats with the sculpture as well as the normal one

In that case - I will indulge in my altism!
  20. Im getting the option to use free tailor sessions (had two from previously) but no extra ones that were announced

EDIT - Actually if I go to use the Body Sculpture I dont get the option to use free tailor sessions
  21. Erm - Im really glad this has gone live but weren't we meant to get free tailor sessions for each unlocked costume slot on a character. I've just logged in and I haven't got them :S

  24. Just an idea - but would it be worth moving all the slots invested into Aim and putting them in Tatics instead?

My main reasoning here is because of the Chance of Build Up proc will have the chance of going off every 10 seconds while Tatics is toggled instead of the once every 40odd seconds while it was in Aim.
  25. There isn't a direct way, only a couple of indirect ways:

    1) Have a friend/trusted person that you can trade them to and they can then trade back to your other toon

    2) If you have a second account do 1) except you trade it to yourself on your second account

    3) If you are a member of a SG, and both toons are in the Sg, with enhancement bins then you can place the enhancements in there, relog and pick them back up
