Thread necro powers...ACTIVATE!!!
Trying to use this to randomly switch costumes on one of my toons but Windows 7 can't run the batch file. It doesn't recognize the 'amp' or 'gt' commands. I've run several searches but can't find any documentation on them or what they do.
If anyone is still around who can help me out here I'd greatly appreciate it. -

Quote:I repeat...LOL!!! Coming from the same person who gave us this gem:Guess what to Tankers who take Taunt... another Tanker/Brute took Weave or Hasten instead and is now more durable than you. Or Fire Breath/Fire Ball and now can hit more mobs than you. So you are a sucker..being selfless in a selfish world. So expecting Tankers to take Taunt is admission that you expect Tankers to be a FOOL or SUCKER. No strong player will buy into that bullcrap.
Jaded... -
LOL!!! Please explain. I can't wait to see where this goes.
Personally, I'll never use Illusion Control again. I like the concept and feel of the set but it just leans too hard on Phantom Army to pull off all the amazing things it's capable of. If you don't have the Recharge necessary to perma PA you just plain can't play the set near it's peak potential. -
Yeah, therein lies the issue. I've got no problem with the lack of AoE up to the one in the Patron Pools. No biggie.
-
THIS!!! Man, I can't stand running with a team through who knows what without a peep. No chit chat about what we're doing or RL. Not even a joke when someone faceplants in an embarrassing way. Bores me to tears and really just makes me wanna log off. Why play an MMO if you're not gonna be social? Ugh!
Quote:I like teammates with little-used powersets or uncommon combinations. It keeps things interesting.
Also, I really love to see thematic powerset pairings. Regardless of potential synergy with another set, there's nothing I like more than a character whose powers make sense together. A tight, well written bio is icing on the cake -
Hey fellow forumites
Been noticing something a little strange recently and just wanted to see if anyone else has.
For as long as I can remember, NPCs have been subject to ragdoll physics on death. As soon as their HP reaches zero they flop to the ground, quite often landing in crumpled (Read: Hillarious looking) heaps. But as of late they seem to have a tendency to twist and bend in inhuman ways at the joints. This frequently leaves them in rather disturbing poses while their bodies quiver and contort as the collision detection tries to force them out of the geometry
I'm curious to hear if anyone else is noticing this. It's always happened to some extent but seems to be a lot more prevalent now. -
Quote:I considered going Kin since it gets to keep its PBAoE but eventually settled on MA because of the alternate animations. He's only level 20 so I suppose I could reroll but I'd rather not.My MA/NIN experience was really awful. The strongly single target nature of MA puts extra stress on NIN, a task the set just isn't up to. I highly recommend you go SJ/NIN instead if at all possible, and I say this as a big fan of MA.
If you want to stay MA/NIN, do yourself a favor and never increase spawn sizes. MA just takes too long to work through large spawns for NIN to keep you upright.
As a Stalker I almost never increase the spawn size beyond +3. The only time being ST focused bothers me is when I'm playing on large teams with a lotta ranged ATs. Still, Kin looks pretty appealing... -
Ah, guess my memory was a little fuzzy.
Well now the decision's a lot tougher. I like Cobra's Stun and the alternate animation is really cool. But Crane's got great style too and there's nothing more satisfying, IMO, than watching an enemy go sailing through the air after a foot to the face. Hmm...gonna have to think on this for a while. -
Hey fellow Stalkers
Rolled a new MA/Nin and I'm wondering which I should take. I know for Scrappers they equalized the two powers so it makes sense to skip one or the other. But for Stalkers the damage and Recharge aren't the same. Just wondering if there's a consensus on which one to grab. -
Quote:Yeah, the writing's really improved over the years. A lot of the early stuff reads like garbage because it's either designed to be cheap filler or because the tech wasn't in place to fully realize an idea so the writing had to be altered to match what was feasible for the programming team.Another nice thing I see is the steady improvement of the game. Redside was written after Blueside mostly, and it was better. I have solo'd Praetoria about 3 times, and that was written better than Redside. The new stuff in the rewrite of Posi TF, and the rewrite for beginning heroes in Atlas is even better. So, kudos to the staff for steady progress.
As the tech's evolved the writers have been able to cut loose. Moral choices, multiple paths through an arc or even a single mission, those capabilities have really opened things up in terms of what the writing staff can do (Don't I sound like a Dev?).
Just wait until you get a little further along. Numina's Task Force is mostly "Hunt Ridiculous Numbers of X" missions in a million different zones. And the classic versions of the Portal Corp arcs have plenty of those "Click Glowies Until You've Got Finger Cramps" missions. -
Now that's what a Warshade should look like. A dark and unnerving figure who devours the essence of their enemies. You captured it perfectly Justaris.

I hope this doesn't sound snarky. It's really not supposed to.
Been reading through this thread and can't help but chuckle at some of the realizations you've made about the lore. I always get into the lore of any game I play so the thought of someone who's been playing for years just now discovering that the Sky Raiders are ex-military or that the Banished Pantheon minions look like soldiers from past wars because they are is kinda funny to me
That being said, I think what you're doing is awesome. Ever since Freedom I've been seeing all kinds of chat in the Help channel from new players asking various questions about content and game lore. Good to see someone taking the time to see the world they're playing in and enjoy the rich story it provides. -
Remember that ambush on the first mission of the ITF? Remember the cascading Defense failure and ridiculous Recharge slows from all the Novas and Dwarves? Yeah, imagine that under player control

Quote:There's a decent amount but not to the extent that I've heard anyone complain about it outside the forums. Personally, the only time KB really gets on my nerves is when it gets an enemy stuck in the geometry (Especially when said enemy can still take pot shots at youYeah... He has a point, though.... I love my PB to death, but the nickname "KBringer" contains more truth than I care to admit. I wish it weren't true, but it is. :/
"Alien")
Yep, I lol'd -

TL;DR: Players are free to choose their powers as they wish. However, a Tank without Taunt isn't utilizing all the available tools and will, therefore, be less effective at dedicated tanking than one who takes the power.
Been following this thread for a couple days. It got me thinking about my experiences with people on their Tanks (Never play 'em myself). I'm the self-reliant type so I don't really play squishies but I've seen the impact of a solid Tank versus a subpar one. Saying that any Tank without Taunt is inherently subpar may be a bit much but I'd definitely be willing to assert that those who do take and utilize Taunt are more capable of performing in the tank role.
Before anyone accuses me of trying to force other players into my idea of what the AT should be, I'm all for imagination and creativity. But let's just be honest, if Tanks weren't supposed to, at least some of the time, protect the team by controlling aggro they wouldn't be so well equipped to do so. Only they and, to a lesser extent Brutes and Scrappers, have the requisite abilities.
This is an MMO with a class system after all. The whole point of classes is to distinguish player characters from one another by the roles they perform best. That's not to say there isn't some overlap but disregarding the fact that some classes are, by design, better at certain tasks than others is kinda ridiculous. -
This might sound a bit crazy but I'd love to have it. Just came up with a shapeshifting ninja concept that transforms into the Four Symbols of Chinese astronomy. I'd like to be able to set it up like this...
Seiryuu (Azure Dragon of the East): Ice/Ice Dom
Byakko (White Tiger of the West): Claws/SR Scrapper
Suzaku (Vermillion Bird [Commonly depicted as a phoenix] of the South): Fire/Fire Blaster
Genbu (Black Tortoise of the North): Stone/Stone Tank
I've made costumes to represent them all and even think I've found a way to switch between them at random whenever I use Build Up (If anyone's done this please let me know) but I'd love to be able to actually play them as their own unique forms with separate powers. I'd even be willing to take limited versions of the sets to keep myself from being OP.

Wow, haven't seen a post like this in a while. I VERY much recommend you check out my guide (Linked in my sig). It's designed to help those playing a TriForm PB from level 1 on. Give it a once over and see how you do afterwards.

Just wanted to pop my head in and say "Welcome to the game"
I'm usually on the lighter side of Khelds (Read: Peacebringers) but I've got a 50 Warshade and I can say, with the utmost confidence, it gets a lot better. Quants and Voids are a real pain at lower levels because you just don't have the tools to deal with 'em. As you level up and get your Stuns you'll have fewer and fewer issues until, eventually, you'll be able to treat 'em just like any other enemy.
If you ever decide to give PBs a go I encourage to read my guide "Peacebringers SUCK!" (Linked in my sig). Also...
Quote:Truth. It's what keeps me comin' back no matter what other games I tryThis is why I love our community...
Anywhere else for any other game, the "vets" would be either making fun of the new guy or talking about "I remember when these guys were actually a threat..." -
True enough I suppose.
I'm not sure why the Devs are focusing a lot of effort toward PB changes on making the AT more survivable. In all the time I've been playing I can't think of very many instances where people complained of feeling too squishy. Far as I can remember, the gripe's always been about subpar damage and/or not doing anything "well" (Read: Better than any other AT). -
This thread can go one of two ways. I'mma get the popcorn!
-
Yeah, Incandescence and Absorption don't work in forms. As for why, not sure. Probably a balance issue since both forms come with their own inherent Energy and Negative Energy Resistance.
-
Original Light Form's back??!
As for the actual suggestion, I'd take it but why?
