Quote:Maybe this is just a thing that happens on smaller population servers, but the markets on Pinnacle and Liberty appear to be the exact opposite of a "social space." The most chatter you'll see is from the NPCs that pass by.
I'm not sure where y'all are getting the notion that the market isn't supposed to be a social space when that's *exactly* what it's been since the invention system was introduced. -
Quote:The problem isn't the additional fee; it's that you're trying to pull people into the building itself. The command is specifically designed to be able to avoid that without having to dangle carrots, no?
And actually, it occurs to me I'm marketing this wrong- the knee-jerk reaction of any gamer to "pay more" is an automatic "**** YOU!" Instead I should be pushing a discount for transactions made at physical markets.
That would lose the whole 'inf sink' aspect, but would be a lot easier to sell. =P
I'm all for finding a sense of community among other players, but as those above have stated: the market houses aren't places people go to talk; they go because they have to to use the market UI pre-/ah. -
What form(s) were you using? Pre-DOs I stuck with the end redux one, personally. Post-SO, however, I'm using the damage buffing one and loving every minute of it.
Also, what defensive set did you couple it with? -
"Honey, my meat flower is in full bloom. We'd better eat it before it goes bad."

We could put this to the test in Dr. Aeon's over-glorified hero chicken-fighting simulator.
Only... Flambeaux caps at 10 and Fusionette floors at 35.
(Add me to the Fusionette supporters). -
Quote:Blasters are glass-cannons, given. On the flip-side, is it kind to reward them for playing like an "offensive juggernaut" with debt and a count of hospital visits bigger than Beef Cake's badge counter?
Blasters get defeated the most? THAT is your argument for giving them a bigger hp cap? The old 'offensive juggernaught, no defences' AT? Oh wait..could it be that they pump out larger amounts of damage, often aoe, and by default..have no way to avoid, resist, or heal from damage? No, no..that wouldn't do it at all! Or perhaps that a good portion of blasters PLAY like nutters? (how else would you play them?)
Again, too, that's only looking at it from a solo stance. In a team environment, a tank may be sufficiently buffed and one can still expect stray aggro to happen. Is it so crazy that a buffer may want to help their blaster ally handle it? Especially when their mitigation method of "damage, damage, more damage" is what got them the aggro in the first place.
(Anecdotally and only as far as it is applicable, soem friends and I recently played [a certain mmo named after the fate of the Norse gods], and I was given the role of the blaster-type class; the punishment for slipping up even a little was death, the stripping of XP from the character, the consumption of a resource or a teleport to town followed by a long walk back to the dungeon and the beratement of my friends for having made a mistake.) -
Raising the HP cap wouldn't cause you to receive any fewer additional hit points than you currently do. In fact, you may even receive more, if you had an overflow.
What it also does is, as someone else put it, allow buffers to help make a blaster that much more durable - or with blasters, prolong the inevitable. -
Perhaps we're looking at it from the wrong direction here. A cap is instated to ensure that a value doesn't surpass a set number which is considered the border between acceptable and "overpowered," no?
Thusly, the proper question would be: would it become unbalanced if Blasters had a higher HP cap? -

Who cares if Brawl is the only attack when it hits like a train? -
Perhaps (s)he meant:
"I think it would be cool if the villain epic archetypes (colloquially called spider/widow) could have a new look and the ability to move higher in their branch of the hierarchy. For instance, a fortunata could become a Tarantula, and the Night Widow could move to a higher level of existence. What I want to know is: what would a Night Widow transform into?" -
Not usually a fan of the widescreen bars, but in this case it helped prevent the taskbar and icons from obscuring the picture.

Last I remember, it was permanent, and you would have to wear it for every costume and regardless of whether your current build is a crab or not.

For shame, all of you are not strong nor pretty to make a WM/EA brute.

Signed on all of Hot Head Mike's suggestions except trying to integrate morality into storyarcs. At least, unsigned if it is done just to try integrating it more; if it was part of a well-written storyline, though, it might be nice.
Unsigned on BrandX's suggestions, though. Especially losing control of the zone... -
Quote:ALL the original human faces from City of Heroes launch are disabled.
After the CoV expansion, some players complained that the "villain faces" were duplicates of the "hero faces." Those players were wrong. They are, in fact, darker, sharper, frownier, more villainous looking versions of the original human faces. It takes a sharp eye, but close examination reveals that not one is an exact duplicate.
Nonetheless, the original human faces are disabled, so the only way to have an original human hero face is to have it grandfathered in and never visit the tailor.Quote:Is this why most of the faces are too serious?
If so this would be the highest priority to me, because that is why I only use a few of them.
Here's a screenshot of the original male face (sorry it's not zoomed-in).
Also, if it hasn't been changed since I last checked, it seems male VEATs are assigned the old Face 1 as a default when unlocking new costume slots. -
Quote:Given that the biographies [appear to be] written for us, the players, instead of a character reading it, it seems pretty plain that they should be trusted.
Nothing said in any of the bios can be taken at face value. Any or all of it could be propaganda (from either side). -
I wonder if Praetorian Hamidon does Praetorian Hamidon damage. Would our Devouring Earth buffs become "Primal Essence of the Earth" in comparison to a new "Praetorian Essence of the Earth"?

The next tiers are coming in later issues. As of current, you can only obtain the first two.

Hmm. Didn't even know there was a command like that in the game. Thanks.

[insert standard search-fu accusations and counter-arguments here]
So, the thread title probably says it all: can we please get a radio button option for respecs that, if set on, ends a respec with no powers in the character's trays?
This option should exclude macros, as of course some players have elaborate setups on their characters using those, such as Masterminds and Kheldians. (Or, perhaps, another option which can instead be checked to also clear macros?)
