Yeah, right after I posted that, I saw like three other threads discussing the Ascension armor and related release.

Quote:One, where did you find that? Two... how can we get it? It certainly doesn't appear to be something already available via i20 as the URL would seem to indicate.

Fire Blast on Defenders, the Mutant MM suggestion I saw a long time ago, Dark Controllers... ummm, Additional proliferation. That would pretty much satisfy me, I think.
Maybe I just don't understand something... but what would be in a sorcery set that can't be done with re-colored powers from pretty much ANY other AT? Isn't the whole point of Sorcery your ability to magically do things? I believe that is why the Magic Origin exists. Like I said, perhaps I am missing something... but all we need is a "Magic/Runes" customization option for some sets, and POW: Sorcery!
I don't mean to be too much of a naysayer... but why should Melee ATs get access to a Ranged set? -
In order to safeguard the OP (because I think the ideas are cool and valid), it would be a good idea to remove all references to that other comic-inspired game. It does violate the forum rules to make threads that compare MMOs.

Might also give gold a try on the boots instead of the blue.

Regardless of any other practical reasoning, this is my issue with it. I don't see any way in which 3D enhances my experience, in fact it annoys me that I have to wear those glasses that I feel are rather uncomfortable, and distracting... since I already AM wearing glasses before I get there. I refuse to pay for 3D anymore... unless that is the only option I am given for a film I want to see in theaters.

Quote:In a similar vein, I remember searching through the menus for a good long time when I was done playing for the day for the 'Save' command... you know, so I didn't lose any progress. This was my first MMO also. This was my very first MMO, so in my first play session after playing for a bit I needed to take a break to go to the bathroom or get a snack or whatever. I had been introduced to the game by a friend who was in-game with me, so I asked him "How do I pause?" His response was, "You don't." My reaction:

Quote:And of course, that has NOTHING to do with how you seem to really enjoy large things, eh?I used the Vanguard rifle because it's the only decent rifle in the game that's not incredibly tiny, and for this one it kind of had to be big.

I believe I will be getting this for the OilGush CCE and the Drippy-Puddle-type aura alone! I am a bit annoyed that they continue to make gender specific pieces without a counterpart for the other side (like the clock face belt).

Especially if the person you trick into pulling off the piece de resistance of your final evil gambit is... the HERO! Ultimate villainy there, and of course bonus points if the two were "friends" all along.

Let me be clear: I am not saying I totally agree with the stance that the Dev's seem to have re: Incarnate-hood. But, for now, it is what it is... and it makes good sense with regard to the storyline. So, I don't really have TOO much of an issue with it, but honestly, I don't generally make characters that don't fit into the game the way it is currently designed. I tend to look at what is available, and make my concept fit those options, and not the other way around. Which, is honestly the best way to NOT be dissappointed by a lack of options that we have.

What is especially impressive is that English is not his first language and that he seems to have flawless English (from what I recall)... I wonder if he would write even MORE were this forum in his native tongue?
*shudders*

Avoid self-righteous monolgouing... even if you are SURE you are about to win. Strike that, ESPECIALLY if you are sure you are about to win.

My favorite instances of villainy in media is where the villain in the story is convinced that what he is doing is good... when his goal is to save the world, but in the process needs to enslave it, or kill almost everyone, or blow up a city or something. I like villains who have morals so twisted that they can't see their own evil. They actually take one look at the hero of the story and go: "You are an idiot for opposing me, you are dooming the civilization you hope to save with these actions" and mean it.
I think of Ozymandias as a good candidate for this... but I am certain there are others.
However, that doesn't really answer the question posed in the OP, because you are asking about what one considers to be truly disgusting, what makes you feel dirty just having participated as a player character. For that, I would have to say that talk of the 'turning folks over to the Vahzilok' mission is a good example. Also, any villain who requires large amounts of unwilling (extra points if they don't even have knowledge of the circumstances they are in) sacrifices or other use of innocents to gain power to play into the first part of this post. Say a character who has created a device that will decimate a large area of all life, and harness the expelled souls into himself so that he can be immortal, and thus live long enough to rule the world with an iron fist to protect it from itself. The idea that each life will continue to live on and/or be tortured within him as long as he lives is another area for bonus points. More bonus points if the killing of that villain will eradicate the souls within him... even more bonus evil points if there is a visual of the souls that are living inside him (say a face that swims up to the surface of his skin now and again and groans in agony or calls out to loved ones). Wow, I just got a chill. Oh, bonus points if you illicit a chill in people viewing/participating. -
(Underline added by me.)
A small quibble... Aren't ALL of the Incarnate abilities of a magic origin? I mean they are granted by the Well, right? Unrelatedly, I guess I also have an issue with folks complaining that Natural characters aren't covered by the Incarnate powers. There is a good reason why that is: as soon as they start to become an Incarnate... they cease to BE natural anymore. -
I kinda hope they lay off on the slots... we have enought stuff to do with that. Hell, I don't even have Judgement unlocked on my two Incarnate characters... I DC from trials too much to do a ton of them.

Good call! Perhpas make it a much quicker recharging pet that allows you to place it in a targeted location like traditional pet summons, and it would just spew out pseudo-pets that have debuff and controll effects with some DoT thrown in? Maybe a recharge that would allow it to be available say JUST less than every spawn?
-
Maybe just rename it Swarm Control... then you could add things like rats perhaps... Vermin Melee? Punch people with locusts and rats and cockroaches?
Hehehe -
Quote:To see the effects of the various Knocks, use them on enemies that are vastly below your level. You will see foes flying all over the place due to your level variance impacting the magnitudes of the effects. It really illustrates just how the Knock effects are related.I guess it won't work then. It's a shame that knockdown powers aren't coded as mag 0.75 knockup instead, because the game engine does appear to make a distinction between knockup and knockback. It'd be much easier to be able to prevent unwelcome mob dispersion in teams by simply applying an AoE immobilize power.
