That one was edited in late... are you asking me to remove it? Or change my wording... both? I can't tell what the tone of this post is.

Quote:Oooh, that is a good question. Will they be true Account wide unlocks or use the new certifications (that are used on the new Incarante costume unlocks)?
And if the answer is the former... then I guess I have to ask again why the heck the Vouchers/Certificates even exist? -
Quote:See, I have used that as a feature when the Transfers were free... to get a free re-name token. Was quite nice. Here is one main reason that I don't feel this would work well - name conflicts. You move over to run that trial and someone has your name, you have to change your name. You transfer back, and the new name isn't on your old server? You end up keeping the new name. Or transfer over, and while you are gone, someone creates a character with your old name? When you go to move back, you now have to come up with a new name. A couple of bouts of that, and the willingness to hop servers is going to come to a screeching halt for most players.

Quote:Costume pieces should be easy: they will be in the tailor... so if you bought it already, there will NOT be a lock symbol next to it. The other stuff? Not so much.I hope there's going to be something in place, like what's illustrated in the example, of where certain costume pieces, auras, etc. might have come from originally so I don't accidentally re-buy them and waste points! I imagine with every costume piece, aura, costume change emote, etc. being sold in the in-game store it's going to be a rather long convoluted list and something that's difficult for someone to remember if they have or not. Right now, it's easy. I have them all. I purchased each and every booster pack. However, as time goes on the list grows and grows I hope it's going to be easy to determine if a particular piece was originally from a booster pack or not.

Quote:On occassion? I spend HOURS looking through thesauruses, translators and Wikis and what have you to plan some names before I ever try one. Because I LIKE to... not because I think I need to. Lately, I have always gotten the first name I try... and it's one I like. As a rule, I NEVER use numbers in my name (unless it actually makes sense, like for my Clockwork and Malta characters), alter spelling aside from in a visually appealing way, use superfluous punctuation, or swapping letters (like a capital I for a lowercase L)....after the last name sweep which was years ago, I've even spent time looking through a thesaurus on occasion and still come up with names that someone else also thought of.
(Granted, I don't play on Freedom, but I DO play on Justice and Infinity, which I believe are still around number 3 and 4 in terms of population.) -
My brother JUST got the name 'Character' on Freedom. If a simple name like that was sitting around, you folks just are NOT being creative enough. Seriosuly.

Ultimately, I hope neither is a power in the set... at least not an exact clone of the ones we can get from Pools.
Relatedly, do we have predictions if the effects of the powers that alter the effects of other buffs/debuffs from Time Manip will stack from other casters? Would be sweet, but prolly a bit OPing. -
I just hope they maintain the model of "selling for what it's worth" and NOT "selling for a value that guarantees X # of sales." Also, I sincerely hope that things like the Incarnate Content access that is currently exclusive to VIPs is NEVER made available for purchase 'a la carte.' Similarly, I hope there are some internal 'rules/guidelines' in place for what will and will not be made available for sale. In so saying, what I mean is that it would make me happy if things like IOs, permanant/tempary buffs, Accolades, Incarnate components/iXP and other such things are OFF the table, forever.

Quote:Hmmmm.400........$5.00......................Complete Magic Costume Set (from the Magic Pack)
40..........$0.50......................Pop Dance Emote (From the Party Pack)
80..........$1.00......................Smoke Bomb Costume Change Emote (From the Martial Arts Pack)
So, essentially, VIPs get like 40% of a Super Booster for FREE every month. Which is pretty okay (that is based off of the assumption that buying the WHOLE of the Magic SB would be like 970 PPs: 400 for costumes, 200 for emotes (5x40PPs), 320 for CCEs (4x80PPs) and a wild guess of 50PPs for Mystic Fortune). Of course, that math is suspect because the emotes and CCEs might also be sold in a bundle, and thus reduce the overall points.
I was cautiously optimistic about what 400PPs would buy, and this certainly helps.
A few questions remain, though:- How many PPs will a powerset like Time Manipulation cost (Yes, I know VIPs get that particular one for free)?
- Will all powersets cost the same, i.e. will Titan Weapons be more or less than Time Manipulation?
- How much will a single power be from a Booster, like Ninja Run be?
-
Close:
Singularity was added to the game on May 11, 2004. Before that, Wormhole was the level 32 power and the level 26 power was a team recall called Fold Space. Its Endurance cost was 71.25 and its Recharge time was 60 seconds.
Fold Space:You can Fold Space in order to regroup your team. All teammates within 10,000 feet, and on the same map, will be teleported to you. You can also rescue a fallen teammate in a hostile location, as long as he is on the same map. This power costs much of your Endurance and can be interrupted.

Quote:As I have thought about this more, my initial reaction of "Holy $#!^" that looks stupid, has waned.I've gone since Issue 3 seeing costumes that would have been improved by mashing the "Random" button. Through all the waves of, as mentioned, "Onoes, it's going to be City of nero/archers/anime/this/that/theother."
Know what? Better to just worry about yourself. If you "see the stupid things," as you put it, you won't see them for long. They'll keep passing by, or you can leave the team (or they can,) and it's not likely you'll see them all so frequently that it'll make one whit of difference.
Leave it as a molehill.
Also, I too have had many a lame costume cross my path. It bothers me for a bit, and then it passes. So, ultimately, it will be the same with this... unless it turns out that the faith I have placed in the Dev team comes to something and they end up making this set cool. -
I am not sure if these pics were posted anywhere else yet... so I thought I would post them in a thread specifically designed to put up pics that were hosted on UStream but NOT anywhere else. As such, feel free to toss up pics of anything that appears in the UStream related to new "shiz" that is cool.
This is a shot of the First Ward zone. [Edit]Apparently, I was paying poor attention to the chat and was distracted by the pretty. This is the Mother of Mercy Hospital.[/Edit]
Here's another shot of First Ward, of a slightly different angle on what I heard was Diabolique's tower. It is encircled by "dead" Praet Hami tentacles.
And lastly, a different shot of a power from the Time Manipulation set for Corruptors, Controllers, Masterminds and Defenders.
Titan Weapons. Enough said, especially since there is already a thread ALL about it in which this pic is posted also. -
Quote:Let me put it simply: If this happens, I am essentially done with this game. Period. I will spend my money on console games.Since we are going to the "buy what you want" system, I would like to be able to purchase enhancements with the points from the Freedom system. I would be fine with pricing them such that $5 is the equivalent of a LOTG Global Recharge. Pro-rate Freedom Points based on what the Reward Merit costs are.
I have about 30 characters who want 5 LOTG Global recharges each, and I am an altaholic who never does any task forces at all except on my badge character. So I never earn Reward Merits. So it takes me 20 days of doing tips every single day to earn 5 LOTGs for a character.
So frankly, I'd just like to spend $750 on their points system and buy 150 LOTGs for my various 30 characters that I like to flit between, and be done. Maybe another $250-$500 in Freedom Points to pick up all the Basilisk Gazes I would probably like (hey, I like controllers).
Just a suggestion. I'd rather spend the money on that than on an iPad2 or a Xoom, if I'm going to get myself a birthday or Christmas "happy".

Fine, but that doesn't stop me from seeing the stupid things.
But, like I just told someone in another thread on an un-related matter, perhaps I should wait and see. I have a lot of faith in the Devs to not make their game look lame... so it is possible I will like this set when I actually see the options and everything about it fully realized. I just hope it is Smashing damage and not Lethal. -
I think what your are seeing as a Mekman head is actually a welder's mask... also worn by Scrapyarders.

Quote:That, is the stupidest thing I have ever seen added to this game.
-Two handed melee weapons set is dubbed Titan Weapons
-Not just huge broad swords, but several kinds of large weapons
-Starts out slow and builds 'momentum' which uses faster and faster animations
Quote:For the sake of my sanity, please don't let these be anime wannbe over the top type swords. I will punch a kitten. Think of the kittens devs.
Nope. This game is clearly based on Marvel/DC-styled heroics... with but a rare few exceptions. -
