That, my friend, is the catch.

While shards can drop from ANYTHING that cons even or above to you Lvl-wise, they are somewaht infrequent drops, and are converted to Threads only equally sometimes, depending on when you last converted that way. Now, once you get threads, it takes a LOT more to craft individual components, and even MORE if you want to use them to turn into the experience that is needed to open up your various slots.

SOOOO, that leaves folks with doing normal content to earn their Alpha abilities, and Incarnate Trials for everything else. Running iTrials is far more economical time-wise, but is very repetitive... unlike earning your Alpha.

AKA, there is ALWAYS a catch.

The incarnate trials are leaning toward that but I thank all the powers that be that they are short in duration.

I love this game. I have nearly a dozen lvl 50's and most at at least +1 at this point. I don't really expect to switch over to any of the other MMO's out there but I'm curious as to this Paragon Rewards standing is and what will come of it.

    Thanks for your consideration.
I dunno if I read it correctly, but it seems to me that your Paragon Rewards standing is equivalent (in at least some ways) to your stature within the current Veteran Rewards program. Now, the fact that buying points can BOOST that standing seems to mean that your standing is your accrued time PLUS some factor related to how many points you have accumulated. I would also think that your accumulated points is NOT the number you have on hand, but instead the total number you have earned... which would include the ones you have already spent. Hmmmm, perhaps the 400 PP stipend VIPs get IS what determines their monthly movement upward in the system. Perhaps it takes 1,200 PPs to move to the next Vet tier.

Which, of course SOUNDS like you can buy your Veteran standing... which is discouraging. But, what it may mean, is that it can get you to certain thresholds but not enable you to just buy your way to an 84 Month Vet on Day One... I hope that is the case. (BTW, I am no where near an 84 Month Vet... just somewhere in the 48 Month area.)
  3. Did you claim the certificate thingys?

    That's subjective.

Also, I was mostly just confused... since I was expecting to watch a humorous video in which you had your character performing hurl over and over again after having edited in random objects to cover the boulder-thing (intentionally poorly edited, I might add, to add to the effect). Needless to say, I was dissapointed.

I fail to see why you needed to post an over-long anime video to demonstrate your point. Also, I believe the word in the Subject you were looking for is Propel.
  6. Anyone else see the humor in Mr. Dead and Zombie Man having a conversation?
  7. Well, I for one will probably NOT be using the VIP server for anything other than a wharehouse for un-played Lvl 50s so that I can keep slots open where I will actually be playing: everywhere I do now.
  8. The conversion rate not being 1¢ --> 1PP is intentional for the very reason you stated as not liking it! It encourages math errors, which will likely work in the company's favor. Also, it makes folks less aware of the fact that it is, for all intents and purposes, money.

As for the use of 400 to 500¢, and not 40 to 500¢ or somesuch? I think that is due to the ability to have a bit finer control of what values are associated with things. Something in this case could go for 5, where in the other system it would need to be rounded up to 1. Does that make sense?

Of course, most of that is guessing.

I am not 100% sure, but I think this is inaccurate. I was fairly sure that rank of enemy WAS a determining factor in where an enemy was placed on one's threat list... and that the ones on the bottom dropped off first. Of course, that is not the ONLY factor, so in practice it may not work that way. Of course, I could be totally full of it.

    Fixed.

At least I HOPE they don't sell stuff that is already obtainable in the game. (Don't get me wrong, I still don't like the method to obtain these goods... but having to BUY them with real money is not the answer. In-game items shouldn't be obtainable in that way.)
  12. The aggro cap simply serves to balance the degree of protection a single "aggro magnet" can manage at a given time, otherwise things get trivially easy for everyone else (See: Dumpster Farming w/ Fire Tanks).

As far as the mission in question, two things: first, the mobs aren't pre-spawned... they only start to appear once you are within aggro range; second, I try to hit the portals from as far away as possible, thus preventing a good deal of Rikti from spawning in the first place.

Also, the aggro cap is not adjusted based on spawn size, or by anything, the cap is the cap, always and forever.

I guess my argument against theses suggestions is a bit simpler: They are both unnecessary.

The advent of the Insps being cast on a character when it levels up was (and is) powerful enough. I don't see any reason why giving OTHER characters a similar benefit is even close to necessary. It isn't even a QoL change, really. I especially see issue in lower levels where leveling happens ridiculously often. I can see situations where every team member could have Large AND several Small Insps cast on them, which trivializes already fairly easy content. Leave the trivialization of content to the Incarnates.

As for the first idea? Again, I see no reason for this at all. Secondly, higher level Insps should be harder to get than small ones... for obvious reasons. But this would actually make them all equally easy, which is just plain illogical. There is a certain amount of balance that needs to be maintained.

The main character seems like an overly whiney pain in the butt.

  19. So, I am sure the Art Dept. at Paragon Studios has this well in hand, but I thought I might suggest a logo to denote PPs:

And here is an example of it in usage, just like a $, which of course makes sense as you might as well say that the introduction of this new Hybrid Model is akin to money in the bank.

No feedback at all? No say as to how it happens? How many threads do the Devs have to make discussing it, with pages and pages of feedback to count? Cuz there are already a ton, in my eyes, the Devs are being VERY transparent some five months in advance.

There are a billion and eight threads disclosing a great deal of info. People can (and already have been) posting their feedback there.

There might still be some in i21... but I wouldn't bet on it. Look for it in i22... especially seeing as it was mentioned as a goal that the Dev team was trying to shoot for in i21.

  23. It looks to me that he is focusing energy between his hands... which enables him to travel at super sonic speeds (possibly faster than light), causing friction and hence the fire.

Edit: this was in reference to the first image.
  24. I saw the image Ironik posted not too far back of the Magmite Lord... and was unable to stop myself from making it into my desktop background after a bit of Photoshopping.

    (Unfortunately, Photobucket shrunk it.)

And of course, my Windows User Icon ALWAYS has to match my desktop.
  25. I might have two folks who are up for it. Wylde-Fire a grav/ff troller and Vincent Marcone a db/wp scrap. Have to check with the BF first.
