While I will admit that the METHOD of the above argument leaves a bit to be desired... there ARE clearly problems with the game that are causing issues.
1) Being kicked from a trial by the game is not the fault of the user. Nor is the fact that the user is NOT able to re-join that trial in ANY way.
2) There DOES seem to be some kind of memory leak that was introduced sometime around i20.5. It IS causing me and many other users to have hugely increased crashes/freezes that simply did not happen prior to i20 despite nothing in their computer having changed since then. This too is not the user's fault.
3) iXP is NOT distributing properly over a League... this is a known issue by Paragon Studios and should be addressed soon. Until it is, it IS occuring and is NOT the fault of the user.
I am not sure how this thread turned from a statement of problems that exist independent of user actions into some sort of argument about who is blind and who loves the Devs more... which is pointless and not worth discussing. But, there are issues with this game, they are not all on the shoulders of the users and they do need to be fixed. I and many other players have reported these issues and are negatively impacted by them. Something has to change and it isn't on my side of the computer screen. -
Quote:If this part is referring to me... I was joking about the wording: Increasing the recharge would make it take LONGER to re-summon. Increasing global recharge rate, or decreasing recharge time, or increasing attack rate would all be the wording that would have a beneficial effect. As for why you'd do it... Because you can? ecause you like having the pet around as a distraction or for a little extra firepower? Because you're one of those RP types and your character's supposed to have a side-kick?
Of course, I was only being intentionally dense, but it seems no one else saw that or ignored it. -
As a portable power source that doesn't need replacing like batteries?
-
You can run them after you capped, can't you? You just don't get anything alignment related for doing so... or am I mistaken?
-
Why would you want to increase the recharge on pets in the first place?

Awesome idea to expand on the idea of players helping other players to make good, well thought out, characters!

Quote:Hmmm, that is a pretty good theory there. Can't say I ever thought about it that way.I suspect that these two might be the same bug. From my experience, the teams getting spread out along the League window happens in the same predictable pattern each time. I think that the ones getting dropped are getting put onto teams beyond the limit of the interface.

Toss a /petition out and see what can be done... but since the files are saved to your local hard drive, I am fairly certain you are screwed.
Unless it went to your Recycle Bin. -

My only concern re: EvilGeko's idea is that there very likely will be a push to defeat the easier to spawn GMs continuously (farm-style)... and all the other ones will be ignored. Especially when Incarnate Salvage is tied to them. Sorta like how you don't see Keyes Island Trial run as often as the other two, and neither of those as often as the BAF.

I posted that from his account as a test for the new sig...

Quote:Blech, I can't use 'they' for that. More often than not, it is grammatically incorrect to do so, which bugs me. I will sooner use 'he/she' than 'they.' Also, I assume all in-game characters are the gender of their avatar until told otherwise... and I assume a poster is male unless there is some indicator otherwise (for instance the huntress in Void Huntress)... or a very obviously feminine avatar/signature. If I am wrong and that bugs someone, I further assume they will correct me and I can apologize for my error.I personally prefer to use "they" because I don't like using "he" as both the masculine specific and the generic pronoun.
[Edit]So, in reading the above post... and doing a bit of research, I come to find that 'they' used as a singular pronoun of indeterminate gender is indeed grammatical. I guess this means my High School English teacher was a very firm prescriptivist. Which, I suppose I inherited. It just feels wrong to say. But, then again, I actually use the word 'one' in conversation instead of 'you' when I am speaking generally... so I am weird, one could say.[/Edit] -
I believe that this is one of the areas that are still a bit nebulous. I do know that totally free players won't be able to start them or join them. Beyond that, not sure.

Quote:As usual, there are some blatantly offensive generalities here. While I personally think Sam goes off the deep-end when it comes to wanting large weapons, and tall women in this game... I would never call his desires "perverted." Nor would I characterize anyone's desire to have a tall female as somehow less than "normal."You can't really expect them to design the avatar creator to cater for every single pervet who might get their hands on it - they have to be more mainstream with it to appeal to normal people
Women are generally smaller than men, but can still kick just as much butt without needing to look like men, or carry weapons that scream of overcompensating
I also fail to see how tall women turn them into men, or how every large sword indicates a dude with tiny man-parts.
Even WITH your "cute" smileys, this post seems offensive.
The Legacy weapons do NOT scale at all from one character to the next. I believe this is due to the fact that before Weapon Customization the weapon model was coded as having to do with the powerset, and not the model that draws it. The moment weapons became a costume bit, they scaled. Now, somehow, the Legacy weapons STILL don't scale, hence the disparity. -
Quote:"Hide" is an abstract concept and a catchall term for all the possible ways one can employ for not being detected. It doesn't stand for just sneaking around, Sam Fisher style. For instance, Energy Aura heavily implies that its Hide is actual functional invisibility, as the Brute version has Energy Cloak, which is just that. Dark Armour, on the other hand, can be sold as mind control like what the Shadow used to use, redirecting the eyes of your foes so they don't know you're there. Hell, you can go overboard and say you're shifting dimensions, allowing you to move around out of phase with the real world, and so completely invisible.
Furthermore, Stalkers are not so much focused on speed or indeed on accuracy, as they are focused on exploiting opportunities. So let me put it this way - you sneak up on an unsuspecting enemy and hit him with the full weigh of a sword as big as he is, all the while the enemy is relaxed and defenceless. Shouldn't that hurt like hell?Quote:Sneaky got tossed out the window when Broadsword was proliferated over to them. I can still hear their Headsplitters and Disembowel attacks from miles away, going CRUNCH! Between Katana and Broadsword, the latter is definitely focused on strength as opposed Katana's finesse. -

In fact, if the character you are running is not of the right level range, the TitanO is not even a selectable reward.

While I am sure the computer itself is a complicating factor, there ARE actual bugs going on that make running trials a bit less than fun: the "you are not in the zone but you are" bug, the "4+ random people got kicked and can't rejoin" bug, the "now my whole carefully constructed team is scattered across 7 teams" bug, and a pernicious memory leak that seems to cause me (and other players) to crash about once every other trial.
Most of those are new with i20.5 and have not been addressed as far as I know. -
Quote:This is as ridiculous as walking into a Hospital and screaming that all the Doctors and Nurses need to go down the road to fight a fire! How about not bother with powerset prolif and fix all of the old TFs and SFs instead. This game seems to forget having things to do (that are fun) trumps this type of thing. This is my opinion, of course
Different teams do different things. -
I honestly can't believe this isn't a joke thread... even after reading it. Is there a punchline I should know about?
