I made an AE arc for an SG project that involved a few of the beginning zone's contacts... what follows are the "re-designs" that I happened to come up with.

I agree with the overarching sentiment above: the update is somewhat ugly and unnecessary.
I will say what I said in another thread as well: Were these pieces used in smaller doses (a few pieces per character) and a global update to the CoT was done, I would likely LOVE the change... but to overhaul them completely and just slap them in head-to-toe of a single set... with a single set of colors looks bad. This outfit does NOT befit the CoT I know. -
I don't think Khelds should get color customization. It is perhaps the only set in the game that has a lore related reason for its colors as is. I mean the source of the entire AT is entrenched in the lore. Making Fire purple can be explained in a multitude of different ways because it is in the control of the players... but a Kheld is in the domain of the Dev's lore. Period.

Valid point... the important thing, I suppose is that you know you are being a mite unreasonable in your expectations... the fact that I sorta knew that helps. But I suspect a great many people get so frustrated with you (from what I have seen) because they have no clue how you are actually approaching a topic. Dunno if that at all matters to you, but it might cause fewer arguments if you make that clear now and again.

Maybe if [Dimension Shift] were made into both a Toggle AND to mimic [Detention Field] more, it would be great... since Detained enemies are immobile and don't attack or anything. And on my Troller, [Detention Field]'s effect is made as obvious as possible (bright orange currently).
As for the AoE [Lift]? I really think that [Lift] itself should be changed to be a Chain as I said earlier (no need to change the icon then) and should simply do less damage to each target effected. This would solidly increase the amount of fast recharging controls Gravity has at its disposal.
Then, if you alter Wormhole to apply the stun FIRST and then notify mobs they have been hit... remove the KB from the power and you are golden! Oh, and significantly decrease the animation time on [Propel]... possibly make it a small radius Cone?
Thus, you would have:- One ST Immob
- One ST Hold
- One Chain/AoE KU power (soft-control)
- One AoE Stun/Enemy Teleport
- One AoE Hold (fairly long recharge)
- One AoE Immob (short recharge)
- One High Dmg Cone (unique to Control Sets)
- Singularity (an awesome Controller pet no matter how ya slice it)
- And, one power that (at your command) can take an entire ambush out of the fight

Yes, improving Gravity just means there'd be a new "worst" control set, but such is the nature of MMOs. "Someone's gotta be at the bottom" would be/is an exceedingly poor excuse for not improving an under-performer.
And while "someone's gotta be at the bottom" is a horrendous reason not to improve a set, likewise "my set is the worst" isn't, in and of itself, a justification to improve it... since the fact remains that there will always be a worst set. -

@Forbin: While the general angle you are coming from relating to global storage is likely accurate... I think the specific things you are saying are a bit off the deep end in terms of magnitude and overly pessimistic with regard to the devolpment team's thinking. I would advise that you consider the history yourself a bit, because your assessment of the situation seems to be angled toward the most negative possible interpretation of everything that could happen were this suggestion to come to fruition (which it likely won't).

As much as I like the music in AP... change is good. I honestly see an update across CoH as a hugely good thing. There is no need to keep everything the same for years on end just because of some sort of nostalgia or "because it's always been that way." This is the same feeling I have re: the update of Galaxy and its (near) inaccesability post i21.

Great artwork to be sure... but the cutesy face with glasses doesn't seem to mesh at all with the rest of the... ummm... (can I call what little that is an 'outfit'?) outfit. Although, perhaps that is the point?

Gravity is pretty much universally better on a Troller... it's hardships (primarily animation time in this case) are magnified when compared to a Dom's secondary.

Not "too high" as in people can't afford it or anything... but yeah, I think, if you look at past expenditures, at how much is being put on sale and at the whole picture (from the customer's side), it seems to be a bit too far in the seller's favor.
That's my opinion, so anyone who wants to come in here and spew negativity to the OP or me for that... can have a very nice day
