The color black.
Almost every character I have ever made has black on their costume somewhere... usually as one of the two or three main colors.
As for actual pieces? The boots from the Martial Arts pack, chains, the various multi-pocketed belts, the Stealth chest piece, the small shoulder pads (round with a contrast edge color), ummm that's all I can think of at the moment, I am sure there are a few more.
OHHH, all of the "chin fuzz" facial hair types (soul patch, small goatee, etc.). -

Quote:I think there are some suggestions that are truly worthy of a heated argument about whether or not there is a place in this game for the suggestion at hand. I have seen some horrible suggestions made for this game that would fundamentally alter a myriad of different arenas. For those suggestions, I think it is fair to rail against them and argue that the "idea is bad and should never happen."When people attack stuff like it this it really makes my shoulders sag.
I think we need to leave the decisions about what is worth development time to the developers. I think it's fine to say whether you'd be personally interested in the feature, but when it turns into a paraphrased version of "this is a bad idea and should never be allowed to happen," to me it's just trolling. There is a big difference between "I'm not interested" and "this should never happen" and IMO it's a shame more Suggestions forum posters don't observe that distinction.
This, is not one of those suggestions, however. -

Quote:Yes, I get that. But once Fantasy became a genre unto its own, to me, there is a line drawn between the two. Similar to how we don't look at a shark and talk about it as if it were an amoeba... just because things derive from a singular source does not mean they are not different. But, that is really beside the point. That said. You do realize that D&D pretty much just pulled a ton of stuff from myth right? They pulled dragons straight out of myth and folklore right along with vampires, werewolves, zombies, mummies, elves, dwarves, trolls, and well ... a good chunk of 'old school' D&D stuff. It's fine not liking fantasy, but the way you said it struck me as odd that's all.
Also, let me be clear that I DO like Fantasy, and fantastical monsters AND dragons... I just don't think those things should really be featured in this particular game (without a very logical reason as to why they are there). -

As an aside, my boyfriend just helped me to come up with a GREAT way to work a dragon into this game that is 100% logical, ties in to an existing enemy group AND could be as big as anyone wants it. Have the Tsoo summon an ancient dragon ghost (like the Ancestor Spirits). It could be some sort of guardian like the existing Tsoo ghosts already are. Technically speaking, it is easier to create since it will be an NPC that has whatever movement and powers (and placement on a map) the Devs decide. It could be done similar to a Hydra tentacle even if they use a traditional Asian dragon look (which would make the most sense anyway). We all win!
Best yet, you'd be able to kill it and probably get a nifty badge like Dragon Slayer.
Quote:Point taken. However, to be clear, that was a general you. I didn't mean your personal argument, I should have been clearer.my arguemnt(which actually was it probably wont happen because it would be thematically odd and technically infeasable) was that it was not off limits on the basis of being "fantasy" because several examples in the super hero genre on both western and eastern media could readily be named. your response was "i dont like eastern media and i dont like any fantasy elements" now the set is certainly not going to be included or excluded based on what we discuss here. but i was providing examples where the thing was not out of place, and rather than discussing why those might not apply, your response simply was," oh, but i dont like those" so no, that was not my argument at all, try again. -
I will soon be running into this 'problem.' Makes me wish there was an Astral > Empyrean conversion... even at some ridiculous exchange rate.

Quote:When folks are arguing about preference... both sides of that preference are fair game. I am merely discussing my point of view, I am not saying the argument is invalid just because I don't like it. But if folks are allowed to argue they do like it, I am allowed to say otherwise.so we should discount it because you don't like manga? ignoring that that door has been way open since issue 4, and the fact that it has is one of the reasons I stay, thats really shaky ground for a counter argument. bottom line is there are several established examples of dragons being used in comic books, dragons are not the exclusive domain of fantasy. in fact, look at pern and shadowrun, they fit in sci-fi and cyberpunk as well.

Quote:That isn't cogent to the point of this thread. And the proposed dragons were NOT humanoid.Hey I am good friend with a Dragon, people play dragon toons all the time, this can work if the Dragons are humanoids
Quote:and if you don't think Fantasy is part of a Super Hero Culture, you are wrong. Warlocks, Wizard, Witch Doctors, Greek/Norse gods, Cyclops, Minotaur, Demons, ghosts and Zombies! All of this is Fantasy Story's and Mythology and Mythology is use alot in DnD and other nerd Cluture Stuff, face it you playing a Nerd game Expect to see this stuff in this game and others.
Also, the fact that two things are 'nerd-ish' does NOT mean that I have to like both of them. I love my dog... and I love to have err... relations with my partner... but I would NOT love bringing those two concepts together.
Quote:Also Dude WTF Fantasy is in Super Heroes Comic all the time, Iron Man face off with a Dragon, Super Man I think as well and I no alot more did as well, so somebody don't no jack about Super Heroes.
Quote:I word like too see More Fantasy Stuff the Nither World, The Astral Plane, other Dimension, time traveling Zone like fight in WWll, Fight T-Rex in a Pre History Zone and going to the Abyss where the Demons are form. -
Quote:Lockheed is the dragon from X-Men. Also, don't get me started on manga (it is perfectly fine as a media, but it is not one I really like mixed in with my western comics like X-Men, et al. Note, I am NOT saying that they don't mix, I am saying I don't like it when they do.).hey now. the x men have that tiny dragon, the fantastic four had dragon man, who admittedly was an alchemically enhanced living robot, but they did cross dimensions to one filled with dragon riders. and if we get into asian themed heroes and manga, well, lets just say i can go on.

Quote:One nitpick: Ms. Liberty can't make you taller (not a Super Tailor), but she CAN give you a new hat. Not sure I like it either way though, either.Miss Liberty being able to make me taller is one step BELOW the five SO contacts who used to stand in a line in Fort Darwin back in CoV Beta. [...]
It may be convenient, but convenience is not the holy grail of game design, and sometimes convenience can be very bad design. I feel this is one of those cases.
I think I have to agree with that last part, Sam. -
Quote:Then something else is going on... because no other enemy in the game that I know about will LITERALLY disappear mere moments after he is directly in front of me after travelling a very short distance. If I have him targetted, he has dropped off my target... even when I attempt to follow him. There is SOMETHING up with his ability to be located. I am not saying it is impossible (I have killed him 3+ times on various characters), but it IS much harder than any other enemy in the game (stealth or no).

Quote:That is SO true.I blame today's technology. We as a culture are so used to fast everything that actually having a few minutes between "events" is ridiculous to us. It was only about 15 years ago when web pages took about 20 seconds to load. Now, if it takes more than 5 seconds, we start wondering about what could be wrong with the router.
I remember when I had to write notes to myself of things I wanted to look up when I was at home... near my encyclopedias (okay, not really), but my computer. Now? I reach into my pocket and look up the answer on the spot with my phone. And OMG the day I forget my phone? It is as if the world has been torn asunder by (giant man-like) ungrateful cave-dwelling shrimp!
Quote:I remember Hovering across the Hollows to join a team in the mountains and I got there a full 5 minutes before 2 other teammates who were sprinting...and were already halfway there at the time I got the invite. And in those days, Hover speed was measured in geologic time... -
My biggest issue with this idea (aside from you dragging fantasy into my Superhero game) is that Dragons of any level of coolness whatsoever are HUGE... as they should rightly be. As such, this would not work as a MM set unless they are Drakes, or some sort of flying lizard and NOT out and out Dragons.
Now, if there were some in-story reason why there should be a Dragon-like enemy, I am not as opposed to that idea... but a Dragon MM set is just a plain /unsigned from me.
Which will look WONDERFUL in all of the many, many indoor maps this game uses. Bordering on the idiocy of the Bruiser riding in on a motorcycle in a sewer, or Sky Skiffs in the Terra Volta Respec map. I think this game has enough bizarre things like this, adding MORE is not the answer. -
Comments that I would have made in the OTHER thread about this:
Quote:Yeah, I am SURE that this is inaccurate. I for one, think dragons should be kept in Fantasy games where they belong. (Fing Fang Foom not withstanding, but of course, he is a stupid character with a stupid name.)im sure everyone would love the idea of having dragons...
Explain to me how ANY mythical beast is more realistic than any OTHER mythical beast? Oh, that's right... you can't, they are all equally improbable. Also, did you just say that dragons are more realistic than dragons (emphasis mine)... jigga what? -

Quote:Is it possible that the Echos and the Reflections are one and the same... and the reason that the Reflections seem tortured is because they have been somehow cut off from that greater mind/timelessness that you speak of?I doubt it. The Shadow Shard reflections are separate creatures with their own consciences, confused as they may be. They say things like "I'm so cold." and "I don't remember something... What can't I remember?!?" They're clearly tortured, confused souls. The Echos, by contrast, seem like vessels of a single mind, sort of like how Nemesis can speak through multiple Fakes at the same time. I'm not making Nemesis allegations, just saying they're probably not related unless the Shadow Shard Reflections get retconned.
Now why that would be, I am unsure... it could be anything from the way Rularuu was imprisoned, to some odd eccentricity of how time flows (or doesn't) in the Shard... but I should think they could be related. (And in fact, SHOULD be from a game mechanics perspective. One should only use unique effects like that for things that use the same concept/idea. It would be like if Fire Blast was used by an enemy group and did Cold Dmg instead... it should look different to describe a different effect.)
Quote:To be honest... This would be completely awesome I've always wanted to visit the Rikti homeworld, and involving the seemingly scary dogmatic aliens as our allies has always been one of my favourite plot points. I'd love to see that happen.
