My one worry about having more DblXP periods would be that if they are TOO common, it would make playing between them much harder because folks wouldn't bother until the next DblXP. Of course, I have confidence that the Devs wouldn't stick them THAT close together, it would have to be more than once a month I would think to have that effect, but I may be wrong, perhaps once a month is just enough to have that happen... making 27ish days of gaming a chore.

Yeah, the EAT idea is a GOOD one. Can you imagine the sweet Exclusive Costume pieces that could unlock?
-
Characterize it as you will... You said it was confusing, I disagreed.
Quote:There are many things in the game that take slots. That statement was non-specific.
Quote:And you didn't read my post. Its not in a ROW or a Table is on the VIP page as a BULLET point. Nothing MORE.
Also, it is confusing to edit a post BEFORE the post you are quoting and talking about in the thread. -
Very cool power effects, and basic ideas... (though I would criticize that your Power Icons are wildly out of flavor with present CoH Icons) but I don't see any place for them as a Pool Set... Pool Powers are generic and freely available to all players (minus Khelds).
Find 5 or so more powers and suggest this as some type of powerset and you might have better luck. -
Power pools should: A) not be unlockable, they should always be freely available, and B) as generic as possible.
Also, most of those powers are a bit TOO flavorful and some are simply not possible within the game's ability (the Teleport).
So, I guess that is an /unsigned by me on three levels. -
I thought people climbed mountains as a source of achievement and to display physical prowess... *shrug*

...I think I missed the point of this thread. Is this only to brag about your cash on hand (formerly)... or only to tout your ranking which doesn't matter?
-
Quote:No... that statement is pretty obvious.Well its easy to misread when it is literally the only thing it says. It doesn't even say Character slots. It literally just says:
"Get 12 per server, plus slots that were unlocked or directly purchased."
With all the changes happening its easy to not know wtf they are talking about.
[Edit: Looking at ONLY the VIP tab it does have no indication of what type of slots they mean... but I think the mesage is still fairly clear that nothing is lost... if you can determine they mean Character Slots, which the OP clearly did.] -

It is frustrating... what was even more mind boggling for me, was that I could get on to the Beta server without issue.

Check that thread.
The only solution I was able to find was to essentially re-install CoH.
[Edit: Scooped.]

Oh... he was going for drool?
I assumed he meant "droll." Which didn't make a heckuva lotta sense, now that I think about it... -
I joined an Incarnate Trial with my main character, a Grav/FF Controller. I hadn't run too many Trials as of yet, and when I did, I had frequent computer hiccups. A lot of DCing and such. I came to this particular trial after spending a good deal of time on a Tip Mission trying to speed through it finding glowies so that I had time to get to Pocket D before the Trial started.
Once inside the map for the BAF, I DCed pretty quickly. I tried my darnedest to get back as soon as I could. By the time I did, Nightstar was almost dead. I ran up to her anyway and attempted to buff my teammates and attack her. I was unable to. None of my powers were activitating. At first I assumed it was some kinda lag issue, or perhaps my Alt key was stuck again. Nothing. I just couldn't figure it out.
We got to the Prisoner stage, and I was at a door unable to help, and clueless as to the problem...
Finally, I glanced at the power tray I keep of some miscelaneous toggles and macro buttons... which is when I found something out.
I learned to ALWAYS check to see if Personal Force Field is on before using League chat to inform the team that none of your powers are functioning.
I just couldn't bring myself to tell them how I managed to fix the problem. (It also bears mentioning that after my DC all of my toggles remained on... which was something I hadn't thought of. It never dawned on to me that PFF coulda still been on AFTER a DC, but it was.)

I don't play on Virtue, but the thread title made me intrigued...
When it comes to creating a character, I usually start off with a brief idea of what I want the character to be like. That usually leads me into the powersets I want to use, which (along with concept) help me to create the costume... and last is usually the name.
However, recently, I have been starting with powersets, moving to concept and costume and finishing with the name.
But, there are some characters, Corridor, for instance, that started as nothing but a name and everything else formed from there. I was driving to class when I thought of the name and wondered if it was open on my server of choice... it was. So, that character formed backwards for me.
(Also, I ALWAYS have a bio written for my character before they hit Level 6... otherwise it doesn't feel like I am really playing... it feels like I am just gathering levels for a no one.) -
Quote:I had a similar issue...No workarounds for me either, although I am back in the game after a full reinstall. Not to mention, because of a series of errors where the installer either wouldn't delete or create folders on my computer (I had to manually create a City of Heroes folder, for instance), I got to download the entire game twice when the first download went *poof* and vanished. The uninstaller, similarly, let me down big time. So no game Thursday, no game Friday, and 1/3 of my three day weekend ate up by whatever error(s) this happened to be. And I did in fact, keep a copy of the pigg files and put them in the CoH folder so that the download wouldn't be so huge. The downloader ignored them, as far as I can tell.
Also, when everything was done being installed, the Launcher kept reporting an Error and looping back through the fix/repair sequence... prolly did it like 4 or 5 times. Finally, I exited the Launcher, restarted it, and everything went fine that time. Game is fixed!
Going to PM this thread to a Dev so they know about the issue... who is on top of these things, programming-wise? Used to be Ghost Falcon and/or Television... -
BABs died... face it, kitty!! Muahahaha!!

Well... whatever the heck was wrong, the re-install worked as you described in the other thread. Game is now functional on my computer. I just wonder what the heck was wrong with it in the first place.
-
The issue you describe in that other thread sounds like the same thing. I will try the fix you suggest and see what happens.

Sister Psyche: 22
Statesman: Dead
Citadel: Dead
Numina: Dead
Positron: Dead
Manticore: Dead
B.A.B.: Dead
Synapse: 1 - 1 = Dead
(( I have tried to save Synapse, but it doesn't seem like I have much help in that department. Not sure if it is better to be killed by a friend in the end though.
Now what? )) -
Glad I am not the only one... but I am still lost for a solution.

Hey folks, after the recent epic downtime, I have been left unable to log into the Live servers at all on my normal computer. I am able to log in on an alternate computer, and am able to access the Beta Servers on my normal computer with no problems.
Any ideas of what could be the issue? I would like to think I have messed with all the obvious things, yet can not figure out ANYTHING to get me beyond the Login and Password screen... I can't even get to the EULA screen.
