Quote:Either you missed the point... or you really don't understand what you are saying.Nice curve. I'm not buying it though.
The devs will disregard or give merit to my comments based on their own judgments. I HIGHLY doubt that they will seek player approval first before giving an eye to anything I have to say, and note that that conveniently gives power to the forum members and takes it away from the devs.
To be honest that's one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.
The POINT of the post you quoted was that if someone posts a suggestion, full of reasons, and logic and a definable well-rounded reason for a change to be made in the game AND a lot of players seem to agree on the forums, it is FAR more likely to recieve Dev attention. Juxtapose that with what you are doing: posting an unreasoned, unsupported suggestion in which you deliberately disregard criticism by stating you don't care what other players think.
How can you possibly think a Dev will look twice at your post?
Quote:3) The same thing that makes you think they will not. Imagine that.
She doesn't think they will regard your post becuase you have no basis in fact, and no player support... how can that possibly be the reasons you think that it will? In what universe are those positives? -
Quote:...It's not that I can't be bothered. It's that the very nature of posting in this forum, or any forum for that matter is by definition a vehicle that does not require anyone to give credence for that post to exist.
Only if you expect not to be taken seriously. -
That was a very well written tribute post, Turg. I didn't know Lord_of_Time well, but I certainly remember him from these here fora. He'll be missed.

Quote:There is no way in HECK that I will gift someone influence if they ask... only if they seem to be enjoying playing and indicate they are very new. Usually, this will occur while I am running a PUG, but sometimes it happens in other situations.More than I have seen in other games, including a few times I've heard veterans gifting large influence amounts to new players without them even asking for it.
I suspect running the new Sewer Trial will be a great place to encounter these folks. -
Quote:With my preferences in this game... this question, to me, presents a paradox. If you were going to make one character and only one character to do everything you could possibly want to do in the game (Farm, SF/TF, missions, etc)
What archtype and powersets would you choose and why?
One character... to do everything you could possibly want. That means, I need one character, to be LOTS of characters. The thing I like best in this game is character creation. So, I would need one character that could someone become all other characters, AND go back to Level 1 so that I could enjoy leveling it up. -
Quote:How is that silly, seems like a pretty simple proof of concept to me.It is also required that it actually works. And don't try to present the silly notion that it does because you managed to find the threads.
Quote:I know how to use a forum, but thanks for the sarcasm at any rate. -

Double-plus-goodman from 1984 Earth?
You do, of course, realize that this doesn't absolve you from repercussions from re-posting it... right? -

That's almost 8 hours a day... you play this game as if it were your job!
-
- Pointsphere: 972 Hours
- Lost Emissary: 852
- Schwarszpunkt: 716
- Bioflux: 164
- Ora Kahlu'u: 153
- Truepath: 129
- Skull-Force: 126
- Agent Vermillion: 119
- Drachenblut: 118
- Operative Bulwark: 112
- Plus other characters that are 100 or less that I didn't list
TOTAL: 3,461 Hours (or 144 Days) over about 48 Months
Which is about 72 Hours per month. Which comes out to be 21¢ per Hour, not bad for an hours worth of entertainment (though, it is actually less than that, since this list is NOT all inclusive). -

The fact that he said "snake girls", to me, is asking for that option not because you'd love to play a Snake... but because of the costume on (or should I say not on) those Snakes... similar to the Sybil costume.

I don't see a problem with the system exactly how it is. They are playing for FREE, as far as I am concerned, they shouldn't even be able to get to 50 á la Trial Accounts.
Agreed. If you can claim ANYTHING in this MMO is "hard work" it is either poorly designed or you, the player, are doing it wrong. -
Quote:So, is CoH working for you, Agge, right now?Ssssoooo... it just happened to me. Closing the game and restarting didn't fix it. Closing the game and repairing and restarting didn't fix it. Closing the game and restarting fixed it.
??? ??? ??? ???
I have no idea. Honestly. No idea.
If not, see if you can't change the IP Address in the addcache.xml file from one ending in .4 to one ending in .88, with luck, that will fix it and save a re-install. -
Quote:Yes... this is a big factor. In what server do you play? I think you've been with the wrong people.
Join a server with a GOOD community that actively use a Global Channel... only team with folks in there that you think will be more of your style. Or, better yet, start a Casual global channel yourself and specify that its for folks who wanna have fun, blast **** and not get told how to play. -
I will take a look for that file and return my findings here.
The file was in my Recycle Bin... and it had this in the 'addcache.xml' file: 64.25.36.4
My Live, and working version, had the .88 version.
NOW, the trick is to get someone actively having this problem to change that file... and see what results with log-in issues. -

Ummmm, that feature isn't new... it is unlocked with the 80-something month Veteran Reward on Live. I just ran an ITF with a dude who's title was black.
[Edit] 84 Months, to be exact. http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Vetera..._Month_Rewards [/Edit] -
Yeah, I think this annoys me the most when only ONE person does it... and this effect of annoyance is multiplied by the number of Crates/Tubes that need to be destroyed after one side or the other finishes.
-
Yeah, I never saw any issue with him... but then again, I believe that period of time was shortly after I started and I did more lurking than posting at that time (I started sometime after the launch of i9).
-
Damn, wish I had... once I got the new install to work, I dumped the old Folder... what file are you looking for, it may still be chilling in the Recycle Bin.
And, I did send that PM to Television and Ghost Falcon... though I have no idea what if anything they did, or if those folks are even doing anything with coding or what have you.
{BTW, I re-subscribed to this thread so that I will see any new info that comes up.} -
You mean you can't log-in... or the Launcher doesn't open?
It seems like the second one: In which case, have you tried Ctrl+Alt+Del and seeing if a copy of the Launcher is already open and not responding? If it is, close it and try again. -

Quote:What kinda crazy scenario puts ME in charge of rebuilding society? And why would ANYONE want to rebuild civilization exactly as it is now? What would be the point?I'm curious how much of modern civilization do you think you could reintroduce if you were to suddenly find your self in a world where you had to use your own knowledge to re-build civilization, but you had all the laborers and such you needed.
Quote:Do you think that you would be able to successfully remake cities that work and are well laid out, lighting, engines, electricity, get water, dispose of waste, farm food and transport it to where it needs to be, create an economic system, military, etc that would work and how close do you think you could get to a modern city using just your knowledge?
